Got here around 11am for a 6pm flight, so had many hours to kill. After walking around the airport and scoping out the options, decided to have lunch here. I got the chicken gyro and my boyfriend got the lamb. Both our meals included delicious rosemary seasoned french fries. We both loved our gyros — everything was well seasoned, tasty, and no ingredient was skimped on(and coming from California, we have had lots of Greek food to compare this place to)!. The french fries were spectacular as well and tasted very fresh. Large portion sizes as well with very reasonable pricing. Seemed pretty comparable to the pricing you would find at a shop outside of the airport. You may have to go a bit out of your way to find this place as it is located in the brand new terminal recently build at Hobby airport. It is across from a Chick-Fil-A, the two establishments actually share a common eating area that is on the Chick Fil A side of the aisle. Because this new terminal has less food options than the main terminals, it is pretty quiet and there are plenty of available seating. Added bonus: their water cups are huge(same size as a medium/large soda cup). I know this is a small thing to mention, but it’s especially helpful at an airport if you did not bring your own water bottle :) If I ever find myself at Hobby Airport again, I know where to go!

You wouldn’t expect tasty Greek food in a Texas airport, but here it is! I had the falafel gyro and my husband had a Greek salad with a side of beef and lamb. Good falafel has been hard to find since I moved away from NYC. Yia Yia Mary’s has it. And it’s on a pillowy soft slab of pita bread that you’ll want to take home and sleep on. My husband’s salad was fresh and crisp with a delightful dressing, but the highlight of our meal was the savory, perfectly seasoned beef and lamb gyro meat. I am coining a new term for it: amaziliciousness. Yes, the prices are ridiculously steep(thus the missing star from my rating), but it’s the airport. There is no place you can go to find a cheap meal here. And we opted for food that was healthier than most of the options we saw. We were happy we did!

Great food with great service! It is located the the beginning of the new terminal where Gates 1 – 5 are. We were warmly greeted by the cashier who was super nice and witty as well. They have salads as well as a variety of gyros– chicken, beef & lamb, falafel. The gyros all come with Greek seasoned fries, but you can substitute hummus or another side for a small upcharge. I didn’t get the baklava, but I overheard the cashier tell another customer that it’s amazingly delicious. I was able to watch my gyro be freshly prepared. It only a took a few minutes. There was no seating right by Yia Yia, but the cashier told us we were more than welcome to sit right across from them at the Chick Fil A tables. The portions are huge and food was hot and tasty! I couldn’t even finish all of my fries! Yes, the prices are a little expensive, but it is inside the airport and at least the portions are large.

This place is amazing! I had the steak and salad. The cooks ask you how to cook your meat so it’s actually delicious and not over cooked like most places. Extremely affordable. Perfect option for something healthy at the airport. Portions are huge too. The woman at the register was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I highly recommend!
