Pappasito’s Cantina

Okay here’s what I ordered: Tampico burrito (it’s vegetarian)
Pros: lots of grilled veggies, black beans rather than refried, fast service
Cons: pretty sure the burrito was supposed to have sour cream in it and there was none, very little cheese in the burrito, veggies cut slightly bigger than I usually like (preference), salsa lacks any kick (but I’ve encountered this issue before with Tex Mex– I think I just prefer the Cali Mex style salsa), and the burrito was extremely small (at least in comparison to one you’d get anywhere in SoCal, and since everything is supposed to be bigger in Texas, I would think their standard burritos are pretty big too) therefore making it way more expensive than I’d like.
All in all, the cons added up to me eating a slightly healthier meal than I originally intended. So is that a bad thing? Probably not. But would I come back? Nope. Skip.

Not sure if it was because I was hungry or if I just had low expectations for airport food, but my first bite was a delicious explosion of unexpected flavor. Every part of the dish was fresh and had its own distinctive flavor. I ordered the chicken fajita dish and the chicken was moist and flavorful. To top it off, the service was friendly, helpful, and quick! I didn’t believe her when she said it would be about four minutes but the food came practically immediately both times we ordered. I hope they keep up the good work! The only improvement I would say is that even though the food is flavorful, I found it to be a tad too salty at times and that it is on the pricier side. But for quick delicious food at the airport, give it a try!

A huge shout out to Maxine, Kim and the other ladies working the counter at the Hobby Pappasitos. They go above and beyond to delight and always have the margaritas waiting for us regulars. You ease the pain of weekly Thurs night travel. And as an added plus, the food is good too. Thanks for your great attitudes and fun loving natures.

I have to say… I don’t expect much out of airport food but I do know Pappas generally has quality food. I ordered a steak fajita taco expecting a mediocre version of what you find in the regular locations. Oh no, my friend! What I got was awesome! Same high quality and taste from the usual locations. Airport prices though. However, I will make this my stop during my trips. Up next time… the chicken taco! Lol

Really good food and friendly service. Bacon wrapped shrimp was amazing! Cost is a bit high, but its in an airport so that’s expected. Definitely try the Hibiscus Rita, pretty darn good!
