I feel like in general I don’t expect much from restaurants inside airports. Doesn’t matter what airport it is. This place really impressed me! I had a two hour layover between flights so I decided to grab a meal. The butterfinger shake was AMAZING. The perfect end to my poor eating habits since my diet started the next day… HAHAHAHA. Also had the BLT salad. If you don’t like blue cheese, stay away from this salad or order without. It is LOADED with bacon(not sure if it’s applewood or maple) and blue cheese. I have to say as much as I love blue cheese, it was a tad bit overwhelming. However, lettuce was fresh, tomatoes were fresh. LARGE portions! The service was also really good! My server was very sweet and attentive. And she wasn’t afraid to talk to me when I was on the phone, which is nice! When you eat by yourself, sometimes you need company! Definitely recommend this place!

Stopped here for some drinks and football during a layover flying from Austin to the Northeast. Great service(very attentive) and good drinks, and the waitress asks the departure time for your flight which helps them keep track of when you should get your check. Downside is that, like most airport food, everything is crazy expensive for what amounts to a typical«bar and grill.»

We were told before visiting Houston that the Pappas chain of restaurants were great so while waiting to board our flight in the airport we decided to try Pappas Burgers. Service was quick as we were seated and immediately brought out drinks and prepared to order. My husband got nachos and I got a burger the food came out fast. The cheese and toppings for the nachos seemed to sit in the bottom of the dish and the chips were dry on top. Not a huge fan of there nachos and usually you can’t mess up on such a simple appetizer. My burger was flavorful and the guacamole was ok. French fries were to salty and started to irritate my mouth after a while. I wasn’t completely let down and we saw so many people getting milkshakes but we didn’t think our stomachs would agree on a 3hr flight. Not bad, I would try another new restaurant before revisiting.

I stopped by here during a layover. The most notable thing is that the service was amazing – very attentive and quick. I went with the Peppercorn Ranch Burger which was good. You could really taste the peppercorn. The beef wasn’t that tasty and I wasn’t sure if it was fresh or frozen before. Basically, the burger wasn’t anything special but since it’s big, it’s filling. This place is not bad to stop for a bigger while you’re waiting for something.

I give Pappas Burgers 2 thumbs ups for their service a surprisingly delicious breakfast. At first I was surprised to see them open at 8am considering their burger reputation. My friend and I were hungry and needed breakfast ASAP and the Pappas waitress promptly sat us. They even asked for our boarding times so they could ensure a relaxing, stress free meal. I ordered the breakfast tacos and was not disappointed. The pico de gallo and salsa were fresh, the bacon was crispy, and the eggs were great. One thing I would recommend is getting a hot cocoa machine. The waitress advised me that they didn’t have one but did have hot cocoa packets and hot water. This is a big no-no in the restaurant world. If they make a small investment in a machine, they will be even better. If I visit Houston again, I’ll definitely stop at Pappas Burgers again for a meal.

This place is a joke. Sat there for 10 minutes while 3 servers fumbled around at the entrance. Ended up walking out. Food looked like shite anyway. $ 15+ for a burger. Don’t even bother

Normal burger place inside the Houston Hobby airport. Since it’s at the airport the prices are really pricy but that would be for every restaurant you would visit. We got the Oreo Milkshake which was the best part. Really thick and tasty. We also ordered the guac burger. It was just ok, I should have gotten it without the onions. It came with a side of fries as well. I enjoyed it but as I said, nothing special.

Best airport food I’ve had in a long time! I’m obsessed with cheeseburgers and this is a VERY good one! Fresh bun, perfectly cooked and generous sized burger, fresh topping(the tomatoes were even red!) I also ordered the nachos, which were also excellent: crispy chips, beans, taco meat, nacho cheese and pickled jalapeños. Friendly and speedy service!

Ate here in Houston’s Hobby airport, so the prices were inflated, but the food was top notch. I got the chicken fingers and they were perfectly prepared as were the fries. The server was good, but I got the impression there was somewhere else she had rather be. The area was well lit and very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone flying through Houston if you have the time to take it in. They ask you when your flight goes out, so they are sensitive to your timing needs.

We were delayed in Houston for over 4 hours and thank goodness that this place was open! It was pretty packed, but we managed to be seated within 5 minutes. Our service was excellent and they routinely checked on us. I liked that they asked our boarding time so they could ensure we did not miss our flight. I ordered their crispy fried pickles and jalapenos and added a side salad. The food was great and so was my bacon blood mary. If at Houston Hobby again, I will definitely stop in.

This was our last meal of the trip and we chose Pappas, because we saw a few around town while visiting, and it was closest to our gate. We all ordered the Frito Pie Burger, a Texas staple. I usually hate when everyone at the table orders the same thing but this was the exception! It is a huge, messy, hand-pattied burger of FRESH ground beef, topped with onions, two kinds of cheese, chili and Frito corn chips all on a fresh onion roll! This was the BEST burger I had in Houston and probably one of the best burgers that I have eaten [while sober] all year! I highly recommend trying it out. I don’t know if menu prices change outside of the airport, but if you see this burger for $ 16 around the city just pay it… It’s worth it!

Strawberry milkshake = fresh, creamy, and delicious. Pappa’s cheeseburger was cooked perfectly. A bit pink and juicy like I like it. A great burger. I haven’t had a good burger in probably a year… until today. The bun was soft and perfect. All I have to say is Mmmmm.

This place was good, although there was nothing too special about it. It reminded me of a Chili’s. I ordered a beer and nachos. Both were good although when we ordered a side of jalapenos it would’ve been nice to know that we were getting charged nearly $ 2 for them. Also, if you have a long layover and plan on getting wasted or have a short layover and are in a hurry, don’t fret: the host asks what time you board so they can a) make sure you leave on time and/or b) you get your food in a timely manner.

I am in Houston on a layover currently enjoying a tasty chicken sandwich, fries and a beer. Sitting at the counter watching the employees and gotta say I’m impressed! They all are working together as a team and hustling their butts off, all so that us travelers can eat drink and be on our way. Everyone is friendly and making sure all customers are being taken care of. Just wanted to give a shoutout to all you employees for your hard work! It does not go unnoticed. Thanks!

While waiting for my departing flight, I stopped by this nice little burger joint for a quick bite. I was greeted by a friendly hostess and seated promptly. My server, too, was very friendly and efficent. I ordered a cheeseburger without mayo but with all the fixings and it was juicy, large, and quality. The French fries were decent although nothing to rave about. This joint was located just several feet from my departing gate which also made it convenient and even more appealing. If you have the time and interest, they also have televisions so you can catch a game or what not. The burger was about $ 15 and my soda was about another $ 2.50 so with tax and tip it came out to about $ 23. Sure, that may be a little steep for a basic meal, but it was satisfying and tasty.

Was pleasantly surprised with my chili cheese fries. Ample chili with the perfect amount of salt for the fries! Also, I was a huge fan of the chicken tortilla soup. It was rather pricy at $ 10 a bowl, but was quite yummy. Service was ok, even after the mad rush died down. Will definitely return to this spot next time I’m at the airport!

I’m not really sure what the fuss is about with respect to Pappa Bros restaurants in Houston. I haven’t been impressed with any part of their chain and this highly rated burger is no different. It probably didn’t help that they gave me the wrong burger, but the problems started before that when I wasn’t able to order my burger medium rare. Generally, if a burger uses USDA prime grade beef, I hope to be able to choose how it will be cooked. That isn’t part of the process here. Mine came medium well. The portion is massive and the ingredients that went in the burger(even if they weren’t the ones I ordered) were quite good. The burger holds up well while you are eating it and wasn’t very messy at all. The fries, however, were flavorless sticks of potato that added nothing to the experience. I wasn’t given a pen to sign my check. Again, slight detail, but I am flying and if I had actually requested them to make the burger I had originally ordered, I likely would have missed my flight. At this price point, I expect a solid experience. Pappas didn’t deliver.

Weak vegetarian cuisine at a place that isn’t known for it’s vegetarian food: this 1 star is less of a comment on the execution of the cuisine(the beef burgers here are allegedly delicious) and more more of a warning to vegetarians that fly a lot: bring something to eat to Houston’s Hobby airport. I went on a Friday night before a flight to Boston. The vegetarian options on the menu are as follows: quesadilla, fried pickles, french fries, chips with dip, and some salads. I ordered the caesar salad, which probably is not vegetarian; do anchovies even add anything to the caesar dressing value proposition? Regardless, I was pretty hungry and cut this corner so I wouldn’t be that whining vegetarian. The caesar salad was fine, as far as mixtures of romaine, parmesan, and red onions go. I’d probably just go no dressing if forced into this situation again. This experience marginally was made marginally better by the 20 oz Karbach Hopadillo IPA that I purchased for $ 8.25.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food during my brief stopover. Excellent half-pound burger, cooked exactly as ordered. Fries were cooked well with a hint of seasoning. But … I understand the notion of «table touch» in restaurants. But when I’m trying to catch a bite between planes, I really don’t want — or have time for — a ten minute discussion about where I’m from. This restaurant is an airport location; nobody is from Houston! So why the need to interrupt me when I’m obviously doing something(in this case checking email). Food was very good; interruption by manager was very annoying.
