Being Cuban, I thought the«Cuban sandwich» is weak and unflavorful. If I were them I would remove this choice off the menu. They should call it a ham, cheese, and pickle sandwich. The margaritas were eh… okay.

I am usually not one to complain, but POOR customer service must be acknowledged… and shared. Stopped in the Drive-Thru for lunch time, and made a simple $ 20 order. The order included a 20oz lemonade, comma which you can consume waiting on them to prepare your food(esp. in 85°-90°F weather.) When I asked waiting in my car for a refill, I was told they didn’t provide them. Yet there was enough ice in my styrofoam cup to fill 2 ½ drinks. I brought this up, and was told«Sorry.» What’s worse, the drive-thru person(Hispanic female) shut the window INMYFACE. Wow. Don’t know if the presence of Velvet Taco next door has made them cheeky, but I was unexpectedly disappointed. Not my first time patronizing this spot, but it’ll definitely be my last. Oh well. Do better, folks. Deuces.

I was hungry and wanted to try a place I haven’t been too before. I stopped by this place and haven’t stopped going since. The burgers are amazing. And they sell MARGARITA’s TOGO!!!

Uh this review is for the MARGARITASTOGODRIVETHRU. I don’t know why Unilocal defaulted to W grill but I can only vouch for the drive-thru which is really all you need at night… or in life. My first thoughts were: is this even legal? You’d think so too when you realize this place is trying to convince you that putting a piece of tape over the straw insert opening automatically makes you rolling up in your car with a frozen margarita in your cup holder an a-ok thing to do. But i checked, it’s legit. Pretty huge drink to quench your alcoholic cravings. They have a super sized option and since my small was massive, I can only imagine a swimming pool full of tequila goodness when trying to conceptualize what the super sized option entails. On the sweeter side than the boozier side, in my opinion. But you can add extra shots if that suits your fancy. The drive-thru also offers a myriad of other alcoholic beverages such as piña coladas!

There are plenty of reasons to stop by this interesting dual drive-thru grill, despite seeming somewhat lackluster compared to the flashy spots up and down Washington. A personal favorite of mine is the ¼ Burger w/Fries and refreshing lemonade. A simple order, but one that is made on a flat-top grill with fresh beef and golden potato buns. The old-school preparation of the food is nostalgic and reminds me of almost burning buns on the grill myself. If burgers are not your thing, the Cuban sandwich is excellent with spiral ham and grilled onions on a sweet roll hoagie. For those living dangerously I suggest the Devil Dog, the kick of the jalapeños is offset perfectly by the onions, tomatoes & beef dog. Finally, the margarita’s are well worth the price even if it seems high. In addition to the enormous size, they are made with tequila as opposed to wine and are available to order from the drive-thru within a few minutes of ordering. I suggest the Sangria blend, but all flavors are equally refreshing and even have the option of «Skinny» for those looking to watch their sugar intake and their dental health.

This is one of the few spots in Houston where you can get a GOOD drink to go! You have to try their Sangria margarita with an extra shot. Yum! They provide fast and friendly service, especially when you are on the go.

This was my first visit to W Grill and it was… meh. We saw the signs for«drive-thru» margaritas and were intrigued(and yet we didn’t order any this visit? lol) anyway, when we pulled up to the ordering sign, a female employe yelled at us to drive forward to order at the window because they were having electrical problems with their ordering sign. Once we got to the window she told us to drive around to the other window(?) so we could order? Ummmm she was at the window so I don’t know why she couldn’t take our order there. So we did as she told us and we ended up ordering the turkey avo sandwich, chili cheese fries, pulled pork sandwich and one pulled pork taco with one 32oz fountain drink for $ 1.50 and a 20oz fountain drink for $.99 all together our order came out to $ 28.80. I liked my turkey sandwich and the chili cheese fries were pretty tasty but the bf’s pulled pork sandwich and pulled pork taco were just bland. We chose to sit on the patio during this visit and we overheard a lot of customers going there and mainly ordering drinks to go as opposed to food, so of course this place is known for their drinks, the food. maybe not so much. Our first visit here we were not impressed much but I’m all for giving a place a 2nd try, especially to see how strong their drinks are lol we might have caught them on an off day looking at previous reviews. Just ok for now.

This has been our«go to» for fresh, good, take-out for a couple of years. My children LOVE the Philly cheesesteak here! I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever had from here from fish tacos, turkey burger, grilled chicken sandwich, hot dog, jalapeño burger, and the sliders. The food is always made to order, the staff is friendly, and they sell margaritas to go! What’s not to like about that? Oh, and the bread they use is amazing!!!

I really really love this place. First of all, the workers are always nice and friendly. They always greet me with a big smile! The food is always made to order and fresh! I love wheat bun in my burger, and so far, this place offers THEBESTWHEATBUN in Houston. I always get the ½ pound burger with Swiss cheese, bacon and mushroom. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and will continue to do so.

If you like great drive thru margaritas this place is the place for you. Lots of flavors starting at $ 6.99. They tape the opening for the straw down so it’s legal to purchase and drive off. I will certainly return.

Not strong at all. I would recommend going here with a bottle of your own and adding to the drinks. It’s pretty expensive considering the lack of alcohol in each drink

Didn’t have much of an appetite but I needed something to eat so I stopped here. I ordered the 3 W Grill sliders and steak fries. I had one bite and I found my appetite again. The bacon on the sliders were PERFECT… not too soft and a little crispy. The seasoning on the steak fries were a nice touch. Also had the Mango margarita to go. I highly recommend you try this place. Everything is freshly made when you order. If the place is busy, there might be a short wait but it’s definitely worth it… or call in your order so you can have your food ready when you get there. Definitely will be going here again when I’m in the area and you should too.

Ugh«margaritas to go,» can I give it 6 stars. Since I literally work down shepherd, this is may or may not become a problem. I haven’t tried the food, but the outdoor seating area is pretty inviting. Be prepared for the«extra shot» question at the window; it really depends on how your day has been lol. They have a good variety of margaritas and they aren’t too sweet, so very drinkable.

I drive by everyday on the way home and the huge Margaritas to go sign always caught my eye. On a whim, I decided to stop by to pick up lunch. I’m so glad I did! I ordered the Turkey Avo Sandwich from their lunch special menu. After a short wait, the nice girl at the window handed me my food and drink. When I got home, I was excited and curious to open my box. I didn’t know what to expect from the small little shack. Boy, was I surprised! The turkey sandwich was conveniently already halved. Thank goodness, cause it was packed with a generous helping of turkey, avocado, pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce on wheat bread. The sandwich was delicious even though it got a little messy. I didn’t mind though cause that meant I got more food. The combo came with a side and a drink. I opted for the steak fries; they were decent. I sprinkled on some Tony’s Chachere Creole seasoning, and they were perfect. The lemonade was good — perfect balance of sweet and sour. I’m definitely coming back to explore the rest of the menu, especially the ritas!

W Grill is just OK. The margaritas are so sweet I can taste the hangover waiting to happen, although the novelty of drive-thru alcohol is kind of neat. They put a piece of tape over the straw hole on the drink which apparently makes it legal to drive around with. I thought that was amusing. Maybe I just don’t get out much. The burgers are pretty dry like they’ve been sitting on the grill for awhile. The fries are just meh. I will say that everything is dirt cheap. So that part’s nice.

The only thing better than a margarita is two margaritas. Since this is somewhat ambiguous on how the drive-thru works if you are not a regular here is how this goes: if you are headed east on Washington towards downtown then you turn in to the biz just past Durham and you want to be in the«driveway» parallel to Durham. The first«menu» object is the margs, then the second one is the food one. You place your order at the second one — there is a tiny little, very tinny sounding speaker down on the post beneath the food menu. You will likely need to repeat your order a few times since the box garbles both you and the girl taking the order pretty badly. The girl taking the order is super nice though, she won’t get frustrated with you. Then you pull forward slightly along the driveway until you get to the oddly painted window — don’t worry if it takes a few minutes to slide open(I had enough time to type up and submit my quicktip on mobile as well as read some e-mail), you are in the right place. Okay, order basics are covered here just in case you thought it was going to be more involved by the look of the place. W Grill is perhaps best known as THE place to get margs to-go from a drive thru in Houston. This simplifies your life greatly if you don’t own a blender at home, are not well stocked in the tequila/margarita mix department, or are a robot that does not have a deep bench of friends and acquaintances to draw upon to grab a marg with at a sit down restaurant on a moment’s notice. Or if you are all three then I really like that this exists so near my house for day drinking convenience on days such as Cinco. Their flavor list of margs seems to grow exponentially. Online there were like four options, on Bri A.‘s user submitted photo on Unilocal there were more, and then actually at the speaker box to place my order there were even more that I did not know were possible outside a mad scientist’s laboratory. This was a true Sophie’s Choice to determine what flavors were sensible, appropriate, and deserved. I ended up settling on the cherry rita because that seemed sensible — frozen cherries are one of my favorite things — plus add some alcohol on top of that and now you’re talkin’ my language, sister. Sangria is pretty much always sensible. Sterling Mallory Archer knew that his tongue was saying sangria, even though his heart was saying michelada at one point. But it would seem a shame to completely skip the original rita flavor altogether. So «the swirl’ steps in to save the day. Not the swirl we most commonly think of in IVF when two men decide to make a baby together with a complete stranger/contractually obligated lady, but seemingly don’t want to know in advance which one is the biological father; nor is it the swirl most of us were familiar with in junior high being dunked into the toilets by a childhood bully that most likely is serving hard time in Huntsville in the custody of the State for most of his adult life. With that being said, this drink right here is the best sort of swirl: part«house flavor» marg, part sangria. The cherry is very, very, very sugary. This is not a strong cherry flavor, it is mostly a sugar rush that is incidentally lightly cherry flavored. Think of it like snorting a bunch of pixie stix, drinking a bunch of Red Bull, and then chewing some very sugary(not sugar free) gum — and you arrive at the level of sweetness. You will basically be bouncing off of the walls with this, so I like it. There is no taste of alcohol at all so it is not a supes strong bev even with the extra shot that cost $ 1. But if you chug it more or less, the sugar rush offers a buzz just as pleasing as anything else you could get from a house marg at a sit down tex-mex resto. The swirl is less sugary than the cherry. Given that premise it is not surprising that the flavor profile is stronger than the cherry. To draw an analogy: if your little league ball field as a kid had a concession stand that served snowcones then this was the blue flavor snowcone — the one that always«sold out» first since everyone wanted that blue flavor since it was the strongest/best flavor, even though we didn’t really know what flavor profile blue actually meant — we just wanted it and we wanted to have it first so the other team couldn’t have it if we used up the entire bottle of blue flavoring on our #winning snowcones. That is how«the swirl» is in comparison to the other flavors. Order this flavor until the wheels fall off and enjoy the warm sangria overtones with the slight lime mouthfeel. Considering I did not need to get out of my car and go sit down at a restaurant, this is close by the house, and the girl was very pleasant and polite taking my order I think they did everything I could ask for to earn four stars. If you order any food and non-alcoholic drinks or *gasp* actually go inside, then your mileage may vary. This review is only for the margs to-go. All this and $ 2 in change back from a $ 20 bill? Neat.

Wow, hands down the absolute best hot dog I have ever eaten. I HATE hot dogs, but this little hole in the wall just turned the table completely around for me. Don’t let this little tiny building fool you, they have a lot to offer! The staff was so friendly as well, and for the freshness they offer. they were very quick. I was in a hurry and needed to grab lunch before work, so I just ordered their $ 410 in. chili cheese hot dog special off of their billboard. I thought that price was already a steal but when I saw the actual hot dog, boy was I right! That hot dog was twice as big as the sonic chili cheese hot dog, and the quality was amazing. One thing that stood out the most was the bun. The bun was this crispy yet flakey bread that was just indescribable. It tasted so amazing that if I wasn’t counting the carbs, I would devour just the bread itself. The hot dog itself was also so thick and had plenty of meat. I can also tell that the cheese and chili were also fresh too. I would absolutely love to return just to see what else they have to offer on their menu and also try their plentiful margarita flavors.

W Grill is one of those places that is never on the top of my list when I am out looking for somewhere to eat but I am never disappointed when I do go there. The wait is a bit long when you go but that is because they are making the food as soon as you order it. There doesn’t seem to be anything pre-made waiting for your order. I do like that a lot. The drive thru margs are not very good. They are so overly syrupy sweet that I couldn’t even finish it the one time I tried it. The sweet potato fries are delish!
