Did a really choppy job on my hair. Went back next day to have them fix it. They chopped it up more and told me «NO, I NOT cut short» to which I replied yes cut short so it’s blended. She said NO I NOTCUTMORESHORT… and also had my eyebrows waxed and she took skin off. I was bleeding and now have a scab above my eye. Need serious training here!

After a few years, finally I found a right hairdresser for me already –that is Tina. I love the style of my new hair a lot. Thanks for a person who recommended her to me. And five stars for Tina :)

Ok I came here with a simple service I had in mind… All I wanted was a blowout to straighten my wavy hair with a round brush and blow dryer. Well that I did not receive. I basically got my hair sprayed with water then blow dryed without a brush, she she was using her hands. Then proceeded to flat iron it. It was the same process I do at home. So basically I wasted time and money! Also everything is outdated and the quality of flat iron is terrible it was like one of those flat irons they sell for $ 12.99 at Walgreens. Also there is a communication barrier maybe she didn’t understand what I meant but anyway I will definitely never return!

Alright– I was here the first time about a month ago and had a good experience. I was in here the second time 2 days ago and had a NIGHTMARE experience. A month ago, I came in, and Tina gave me a trim that I absolutely loved. I got along with her great, and afterwards I even decided to get a lip wax, something I’ve never had done in the past. It was a GREAT trim, she knew exactly what I wanted and didn’t cut off longer than I needed her to. The lip wax was painful, but it was my first time and after half an hour the redness went away. She told me I could come in every few weeks for a bang trim at no charge. I thought well I could come in every 4 weeks for a bang trim/lip wax, that way I am paying something and after 3 visits i’ll get another haircut, etc. I am fresh to Houston and was ready to make this«my» salon. This past weekend, I went in, asked for Tina, who was busy, and I told the older, Asian woman that I would prefer to wait. I should point out that her English was not the best, and Tina’s was pretty great, which I think enhanced my first experience, because she understood what I wanted exactly. This older woman ignored my request to wait for Tina and assured me she would take care of me just fine. I told her that I wanted straight bangs. Straight forward, right? She completely disregarded that request and gave me choppy, uneven bangs. On any other occasion I would’ve been happy with them, except… that WASNOT what I asked for! On to the lip wax. She puts the wax on my right side and goes off to do something else, and after about 30 seconds I’m thinking… this probably shouldn’t be on my face anymore. When she comes to put the strip on my face to remove, it was the most painful thing I had ever experienced in my life. Something went wrong, and it wasn’t good. She did the other side, and again something did not feel like it did the first time/when Tina had taken care of me. I went over to pay, she charged me $ 8 for a bang trim… whatever right? and another $ 5 for the lip wax a total of $ 13. I get in the car and my face does not look normal. It is more irritated than ever. I get home, I am completely unhappy with my bang trim, not only that, but THEREWASSTILLHAIRONMYUPPERLIP, after all that pain! Luckily I live so close by, I went back and let her know I still had hair on both sides of my upper lip. I pointed out to her not to put any more wax on the areas where I was visibly tender/bleeding. She realized that, I think, and was really scared. She went at it another two times, I still saw hair but at this point, I figured I just needed to get OUTOFTHERE. I went home, and after most of the redness is gone from my face, I went through and plucked the hair that the woman wasn’t able to get removed. After about an hour, I realized that the areas on my face were scabbing over. Sunday morning, I look like I have some kind of rash all over my mouth. Now, it is Monday afternoon, I don’t look presentable for work, I have a client event on Wednesday where I have to face a couple hundred people, I have a dermatologist appointment in an hour, and you can bet your behind I am going to Q salon after my appointment and asking for a full refund of my $ 13. You can DEFINITELY bet I won’t be going there again(neither should you). The one star is for Tina, who should really find another salon to work for.

I had a fantastic experience at the Q salon last night when I needed a transition from long, dragging hair to a short cut. I was a little nervous about having someone new cut my hair because I normally go to Cutloose but seeing as though the economy has been tough on my pocketbook, I figured I would try somewhere new that wasn’t so expensive. My mother recommended it to me and I usually wouldn’t follow hair advice from my mom(she’s in her 60’s and I am in my 20’s) but she was absolutely right about a job well-done. Phillip cut my hair and he is wonderful. He’s new to the salon and I assume was hired as the young, funky stylist for the younger generations seeking a cute cut. My mom usually has Annie cut her hair and she swears by her talents as well. Overall, the salon aims for all ages and styles, and comes highly recommended.
