TGF Hair Salon

Usually go to the S Main and Kirby location but since I moved, I figured why not. There were good reviews online for S Voss. The ladies were very sweet and it didn’t take long for me to get started. I wanted a short Bob and the woman tried her best to get it to look like the picture. It wasn’t perfect but then again its not like she butchered my hair. I don’t complain about hair or haircuts since it Does grow back but I felt more like Paul McCartney than Posh Spice. Lol don’t worry, I’m still working it like a diva though

I’ve been a loyal customer for the past 7 years. They do a great job, reasonably priced, and quick. I highly recommend this place.

I have been coming to this place for the las 8 years. The staff is very attentive and professional. There are actually a handful of stylists that have been in that place at least all the time I gave been going there. I normally get my haircut with Marcela or Michael, they are excellent! If you sign up to their website you will get monthly offers and specials

I’d like to start by saying I’m a regular customer. I’ve used most of the stylists at this location but Marcela is my go to stylist. Every time I come I and welcomed by all the stylists and treated as a friend. They are professionals and each has many years of experience. Marcela does a great job of getting me done quickly and I always look great. As I started to get older I have to laugh as I was not comfortable the first time I was asked if I wanted my eyebrows trimmed. I do have Bushy eyebrows lol but they have done a great job of keeping me looking great and feeling comfortable. I will continue to get my haircut here and recommend the team to anyone.

This is a very busy hair salon, located on Voss near Westheimer. The wait is usually minimal depending on the time of day you arrive. The master stylists are great and I am always pleased with the cut/​trim. I sometimes go to the TGF on West Gray because that is where I take my sister for her hair needs. I am always pleased with the service I receive at both locations.

We’ve been going here for about a year and are very happy with the service and price. When I come in for a wash and style they always take the time to understand what I want and then make sure I’m happy with the results.
We also bring in my 3 year old regularly and she loves it. They put her up on a booster and treat her like a princess. We’ve tried kids cut salons and found them to be noisy and always trying to upsell you on something else. Here it’s a quick cut and a lollipop and we’re out the door in no time.

I had my hair done today with the man in there i dont know his name his very slow and not professional and my hair look like a poodle dog after he finish his careless and speakk behind people back i was like what the heck i went other salon across the street the Q salon they saved me never will come back to TGF again bad experience

This review is written by Will, the one who finally got his kinky hair cut sort of on a whim and happened to be near this particular TGF Hair Salon.
I happened to be in the area (to go to Xfinity for my bi-​annual dose of disappointment) and decided it was time to get my shaggy hair cut. For some reason I like shorter hair in the winter, longer in the summer, whatever, I’m weird. I’m a nerdy Unilocaler so I immediately found the nearest place that did basic men’s haircuts and decided to go there and review it. I’m really glad I did, because the review I read about Marcela at this branch of TGF totally led me in the right direction.
There was another guy there, and I can’t vouch for him, but Marcela was awesome. Let me explain — I have difficult hair and I hate having it cut and I’m generally kind of a worrywort and a fussy individual. So Marcela shampoo’d and did all sorts of fun things to my hair, cut and trimmed it all just the way my lady asked her to, and she was totally sweet and efficient and talented.
I don’t like to be tampered with or pampered, I’m just a dude looking for a regular haircut, but this was a nice experience and you can’t beat the price. I kinda felt like I was at a salon. The inside is immaculately clean and easy on the eyes. I can’t recommend any place in Houston better for a good functional men’s haircut below $ 20 — if you go on Tuesdays I think it’s $ 12 for men, at least according to the sign in the window. That’s an awesome deal. So, Marcela, thank you.

I just had my hair colored and cut at this salon. Michael was my stylist. He put both hi-​lights and low-​lights in my hair. I was nervous about it looking stripey, but he assured me it wouldn’t. And it doesn’t! He blended the colors so well. I’m really impressed with the results considering this is a chain salon. So if you go this salon, ask for Michael.

I’ve been loyal to TGF the past few years because I’ve yet to find a place that does a great job on my hair for as little price. I have short hair that needs cut/​trimmed approx every 6 weeks and I’ve been getting the same cut for the past year. I know what it looks and feels like and how it should be cut and usually my experiences are a total win.
However, on my first (and only) visit to this location there were only two stylists working. The lady who cut my hair didn’t speak good English at all and I struggled to communicate with her what I wanted. The cut was just all wrong and it kinda seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing. When it came time to style my new cut, she did something totally wacky — styled it with the most volume possible in the weirdest way! I walked into the salon with stick straight hair, so why did she make me look ridiculous instead of styling in the way I had it when I came in?! I was too polite to say anything bad, so I just walked away fuming and tried to cover my hair. Hair grows and next time I’ll go to a different location! Bad luck, I guess.

While waiting for Firestone to inspect my vehicle, I had an opportunity to check out the other businesses in the area. I saw this hair salon and remembered one of my co-​workers recommending them. Yes, they are a chain, and she didn’t specifically recommend this salon per se, but I decided to give them a try.
Marcela cut my hair and did such a good job, that I made another appointment for a couple of weeks to get my hair colored in time for my daughter’s wedding.
Marcela is a gem! Very friendly and talented. Reasonable prices and convenient hours… open 7 days a week. Note: Marcela is off on Wednesday and Thursday.
