Not bad, this place is for sure divey but if you are used to legit Mexican food then this will be nothing out of the ordinary. Deshebrada(shredded beef) was soft and flavorful and the quesadilla with fajita was above your typical Mexican food. My only complaint was that the tortillas don’t appear to be home made. Got busy right around lunch time, and seating is limited but they also do to-go orders. Would eat here again because it’s good and cheap.

This place has the best tostadas!!! They give a generous amount of meat and load it up on veggies, a slice of avocado and feta cheese. I’ve tried their tacos and I really didn’t like it as much. Their service is okay not like a restaurant it more of a self serve. staff isn’t really happy and friendly that’s why it’s a 4 star. They do get pretty busy at around 5−8pm and most of the time the staff isn’t really out there cleaning tables I have to ask for it. Other than the food is the reason why I’m here.

I wish they would keep this place clean. I been here twice and both time I have to clean up some extra stuffs off my table. Tacos(3⁄5) — It taste good but not as good as it Taco La Balita(by far the best taco). Tostadas(5⁄5) — This is the reason why I still come here.

I can’t speak for the service here because my sister always gets it for me to-go, but this is the first place I tried a barbacoa flour taco and it was AMAZING. It’s the only thing I get here and I order like 5 at a time. I have yet to find a place that can beat it. I don’t mind grease, but for those of you who do, you’ll probably have to dab it dry…

Shitty place with low quality food and service. Never found this place appealing but decided to give it a try with the family. As a result, I was correct. Food made me sick and a family member of mine found what looked like a cockroach leg in his plate. Never again! The health inspector needs to come check this place.

Look we love the tacos at Taco la Bala. To me they are the best street tacos in Houston. At about $ 1.50 each two of you can chow for less than $ 10! I add a $ 5 fajita meat burrito to my single lengua taco and am happy happy happy. The burrito is a hunka hunk of sour cream, lettuce and the tender perfectly spiced meat. I could eat these every day. The fajita meat tacos are da bomb! The wife usually gets three. The jalapeño pepper green sauce on the table is super fresh and spicy. The creamy green sauce they give you in the to go bags is spicy too but not as good. This location does not have the great pickled carrots the others do. And they have about 5 tables so if you come to this location, get it to go. Order at the counter and crowd into the little wait area with the two seats up by the door and it won’t take long to get your bag and go. I do like the big location on Bellaire because there’s always a place to sit and enjoy your tacos and Mexican cokes or Topo Chico. There’s not a lot of eatery options over here and if you work or live in this area and haven’t tried it… shame. Go. Eat a taco.

The reviews sold me, and sometimes you can’t trust the Unilocal reviews. Tried fajita and trompo tacos and their«green sauce». All the meat were dried and the green sauce does not stand up to par as ruchies. Never again.

If you’re looking for a cheap and tasty lunch then you need to bring your hungry self here and chow down with some great tacos! They have all kinds of Mexican food on their menu. I saw tortas, tacos, quesadillas, and much more. If it wasn’t for my coworkers, I wouldn’t have known about this restaurant. It’s located right next to H-E-B. I picked my favorite meats which were fajita and barbacoa. These tacos are not so greasy and they are pretty average in size. 2 tacos were enough to fill my tummy for lunch. You have to try their sauces too. They have the typical green and red sauces, but they have also made their own topping that stands out from any other Mexican restaurant. I’m not sure what’s in it, but I like it. I spoon it out and top it on my tacos every time I stop in there. The staff speaks English, so don’t be scared to go up to order or ask them questions lol. My coworker thought they didn’t speak any English at all. I’ll repeat it, they have cheap and great tasting food here. If you don’t believe me, then go try it for yourself! You’ll probably catch me here. I stop by frequently for lunch.

Good tacos not great pupusas. They also fill those tacos up with a lot of meat. Barbacoa — really good. My first barbacoa taco was probably on the same level as Tacos Tierra Caliente. My second barbacoa taco had a really tough chunk of meat in it. Fajita tacos — pretty good, nicely seasoned. Trompo — flavorful and decent. Nowhere near as good as the taco trucks up in LA that serve it with a slice of pineapple off the spit, but still OK. Cochinita — very saucy pulled pork. they were pretty good. Pupusas — disappointing. Flavor was meh and it was a bit soggy, though that might’ve been because I took it to go. Service: Excellent and friendly. All in all, I’d head back if I was feeling tacos. Their tacos are a bit more expensive at $ 1.45 than the trucks, but they give you a lot more meat. I also felt that their tacos were not super greasy like a lot of truck tacos are.

Still love this place quick fresh fast. I saw the comments about racism and I was disturbed. I use to go 2 to 3 times a week never experienced it.

Hello yummy tacos! The mister is an avid taco eater and trust me– he’s had mannnnyyyy and loves this place. A LOT. He’s been wanting me to eat with him here but just never had a chance. So on a recent occasion he dropped some tacos off for me since I hadn’t eaten and WOW!!! I LOVEEEE. If it tastes that good togo, I can’t imagine how much better if I had eaten it right out of the kitchen fresh. Can’t wait to eat there again.

Service still shitty. I gave them another shot to see if they changed. Still racist towards blacks. Also they leave a bowl of salsa on the table for all customers to eat out of. That’s disgusting especially when you have diseases going around. I asked for to go sauce and she told me to get the one off the table. I asked for the ones in to go container since my order was to go. She lied to me and said they didn’t have any but they had plenty in plain eyesight. I pointed it out to her and she said fuckin nigger to me in spanish to another worker. Still didn’t give me the sauce i wanted. I told her in spanish that’s very ignorant and another customer who heard her told her the same thing. I will never eat here again. These are bigot pricks. Boycott this business. They need –5 stars

Great little spot for tacos in an area that doesn’t have a whole lot of restaurants. They have the standard taqueria menu items. I came for lunch on a weekday and chose the beef fajita, trompo and cochinita pibil tacos. All were good but I liked the last two the best. As far as salsas, I preferred the green salsa in the squirt bottle on the table the best. Also ordered a large jamaica drink and it was pretty good, priced the same as other taquerias. The restaurant also sells sopes, tortas, chalupas, quesadillas, and burritos. This is a nice alternative to fast food or jack in the box tacos.

The place is not very good looking. The tacos are really good though. I particularly liked tbe shredded beef and the pork(cochinita) ones. Barbacoa was also good. The salsas are nothing to write home about. I found they lacked flavor. But tbe tacos don’t really need them. Prices are very reasonable. If you like cheese, go for the quesadillas. They are the same taco, but with a generous portion of gooey, melted cheese.

I’ve never been let down by this place, their food is top notch, I usually get the fajitas tacos and the one with beef tongue. The price is very affordable if you haven’t been here before I recommend you come. FYI: it is a little small but that’s nitpicking.

What the Hell is a Trompo??? If I had to take a guess, I would say that the Greeks invented it to constantly rotisserie(is that a verb?) that tasty roll of blended Gyro meat. Later other gourmet countries surrounding the Mediterranean made adjustments on it and stacked chicken, beef and lamb pieces for other tasty treats that either went into a bun or a pita. Now Central Americans have used this efficient way to grill meat and turned it into the perfect«al Pastor». I don’t know the exact influence, but Tacos La Bala 3 is more than just a taqueria. There is a tremendous and tasty Salvadoran touch to all of the food. It’s located next to the HEB Superstore on Beechnut just off of Beltway 8. Checkout: The big combo Torta The greasy, but tasty pupusas The cornmeal based fried empanadas And of course, the pork al pastor off the Trompo Located next to the HEB Superstore on Beechnut just West of the Beltway. My Tip: Order your to-go food, then do some light shopping at the HEB, and your food will be done when you get back. My Tip x 2: And trompo is essentially a toy spinning top(en Espanol) which is what that luscious pile of meat on a skewer looks like.
