Taco Cabana

This location is a hot funky mess. I went there one morning to buy a box of breakfast tacos. It’s been forever since I’ve been to Taco Cabana so I asked the guy in drive through what kind of tacos I can get… and he answered, «breakfast tacos» in a rude tone. Then I tried to ask the question again thinking maybe I did not communicate clearly, «what combinations can I get for the tacos, meaning what can I get on them?» and he answered…“breakfast tacos”, again in a rude tone. I then proceeded to tell him off and immediately called the talk to the manager. Guess who answers the phone? The same rude drive through dude and when I ask for the manager he says, «I’m the manager.» You have to be kidding me!!! So I must like pain because I proceeded to give this place a second try a week later. I ordered their new ranch chicken taco bowl with drink combo for $ 4.99. I said no ranch on it and guess what they put on it? Ranch. NEVER AGAIN. Yall need to be shut down… your Unilocal rating even supports that.

I order steak burrito drive thru, the steak is all burnt up and it have an weird taste to it, make me feel sick after eating it. Never go back again.

Slow slow slow slow service. You may never get your food. Hope you have 45 min to sit and wait for fast food!

I would give this Taco Cabana NO stars. Breakfast tacos were cold. My daughters Nacho chips were stale. The steak was chewy. Soda was flat and had no flavor. The salsa section was dirty… Nasty!

Fast service but food horrible. Food was ice cold and tacos just had meat on them, no toppings. Had to go ask for them and then they tried to charge me for lettuce tomato and cheese. Should’ve went to subway!

Sadly, this Taco Cabana lives up to the rest of the reviews. I was not pleased with the 3 pieces of chicken on my taco. 3 SMALL DRY pieces of chicken. and I had to wait a little bit longer than was reasonable, and I was the only person ordering. The salsa bar was ok, no complaints. Hwy 6 is really messed up, the manager did not look happy, pulling in this place is a little confusing if you’re headed south. I will try the one on 290.

I’m writing this as I sit waiting for my to go order…20 minutes after ordering. Need I say more?

If there’s an option for no star, this place would get that for rating. THE SLOWEST taco cabana ever. Took them 21 minutes to get my order for 2 shredded tacos ready after couple times rushing them. Terrible!

We left the Clear Lake area at 5:45 am on a Sunday morning to get to Cypress to watch some friends’ compete in their first sprint triathlon. So by the time all was said and done, and we left, we were freaking starving! I mean as in almost shaky hungry. There was ton of food at the event, but that was for the athletes and I don’t bandit food!
So it’s around noon, or 1:00 pm; I’m not sure as I was a little delirious by that time, but they weren’t busy inside, so that was a plus. The drive thru was packed, but there was only one person in front of us.
The guy taking our order was pleasant enough; not overly friendly but competent. We sit down to wait. And wait. And wait. And holy crap can they please get us our food before we pass out.
The two friends that were with us got their food, and ours hadn’t come out, so hubby went to wait at the counter. Not in the way, but over by the salsa bar. Another customer got their food before us and hubby asked the guy behind the counter (the seemingly competent one) if they had forgotten about us. No, he said. But a customer who ordered after us got their food already, said hubby. Oh well, said Mr. Competent. What? Really? Oh. Well. Ugh. So rude.
Luckily the food was hot, otherwise I would have said something. There’s no excuse for rudeness, and if I hadn’t been starving and the food decent, this would be a definite one star. It probably really should be, but I guess I feel nice today.
I doubt I will be back, mostly as I don’t live up there, but even if we were in the area I would probably pick Taco Bell instead. Taco Cabana, you’re better than this. Oh well.

Went through drive thru and my 9 year old does not eat meat but wanted nachos (basically chips and queso, with guac and sour cream is all she wanted). They gave me a queso in the size of a salad dressing container and a bag of chips. Told her no, she wants the queso on the chips, with the sour cream and guacamole — we always order the bean and cheese nachos, and don’t get the beans. How hard is that? Well, it was apparently difficult. She went to the manager, or who told me she was the manager, who was rude and argued with me about how the food is prepared. I just said don’t put the dog gone beans on it, how hard is that. Needless to say, it was my daughters first time there and now she said «never again, those people are idiots.» Shameful, cause other locations are very good. :-(

this is the worst taco cabana unit. the people are there just to play. the tortillas are hard and the food is often cold. numberous calls to managementn are useless and only provide lip service. the manager sam and johnathan just cant straighten these people out. they have no idea how to cook mexican food they offer a free meal when they screw up but its not worth the pain
go to another tacocabana dont waste your time or frustration its not worth it

I have come to this Taco Cabana on several occasions and have not had any major problems.
First I should add, my wife is vegan, so we usually ask for more attention to our food than other people. The gentleman that took the order explained the difference with the ingredients, separated everything like we asked and did it w/​o any complaints or ugly faces.
On another occasion that we ordered through the drive through, they forgot an order of guacamole, the same gentleman apologized, corrected the mistake and gave us an extra order on the house. He also called the employee that made the mistake and spoke to him in a respectful manner, explaining that sometimes people have special requests and that they must adhere to them.
Went there again on 7÷13÷14 and again, everyone there got their orders on time, the staff took note of the empty trays in the salsa bar and refilled them promptly. They do make mistakes on orders from time to time, however, this location always seems to be busy, but when they do, they correct it w/​o hesitation.
The lady ordering before me changed her mind almost five times and the cashier still tool her time to explain the dishes and not once rolled get eyes.
This place is close to home and certain dishes can be vegan. I, on the other hand eat meat and my food always tastes great as well.

Worst tacos ever! Chicken was not properly cooked. Food trucks tacos are much tastier and well cooked than their tacos.

Worst taco cabana ever. We have been here a few times and every single time, our order has been wrong. The people who work there are rude and you have to tell them multiple times what you want. Never going back.

Horrible customer service. The worst you can get in USA. Not a clean place at all. I dont know till this point why workers wear gloves. They touch everything with their gloved hands including money and then food. If you want bacteria and germs definately come here.

Just spent the last 45 minutes waiting for 6 street tacos there was 7 people in the kitchen not including the cashier and dishwasher needless to say we had to leave without our food… I should add that not one person cooking was hispanic, the only Hispanic was the dishwasher. and of course her area was spotless and caught up.

It is hard to believe that the Taco Cabana corporate office doesnt have quality control for these franchises. I grew up on Taco Cabana and this store is a nightmare. It is the most filthy, disgusting place to eat in the area. The Cabana legacy is one of great quality food served quickly at an affordable price. This place is never clean, there is food on the floor, the tables etc. Go in the bathroom and you will never find any hand-​soap. It makes you wonder how the employees are washing their hands — NOT! The salsa bar and drink station is continually nasty — never cleaned. Stear clear from this place unless it is late at night, you are drunk and you are not worried about filth! Go to the one on Spring Cypress and 290. There is still some assemblance of cleanliness there!

Great for fast food Mexican and late nights! Ok so not the best Mexican food anywhere but amazing for fast food. Killer borracho/​charro beans– I think they stand up to anyone’s. The margaritas are stinko! But they do have beer also
