I have had a few not-so-great experiences at this location, but the great ones significantly pull their own weight. Because of its location, it tends to be less busy than the others(most notably the new Greenhouse branch). However, there seems to be a lack of accessible plugs, so unless your laptop has great battery life — mine doesn’t — or you can get a seat in the back, you may be out of luck. And if you are one of the lucky ones to find a plug, bring a jacket because it can get pretty chilly inside. But it is a good place to settle down and tackle your workload if that is what you’re seeking. The parking tends to be scarce during busy times, and getting into and out of the lot can be a struggle. If you are a fan of the Pike Place decaf, you may have to settle for the pour over option because they tend not to brew it in the afternoon.

We went 40 minutes before closing. The barista was in a bad mood, but gave us the before-Valentine’s-Day discount and explained the specials quite helpfully. The tables were dirty and the chairs scattered, as well as random papers sprawled on a couple of tables. Other than all that, the service was speedy and the latte was great!

This Starbucks has a great location for coming out of the neighborhoods and grabbing something before starting your day. Since the baristas are used to serving a WASP community they are on top of their service game. Been coming here since high school and yet to have a bad experience.

This location used to be great but I don’t know anymore. I came here around 7pm thinking it was closed. The lights were very dim. I walk in and I see a lady employee staring at me as if she wants to ask what are you doing here? Since she kept looking at me I asked her if they were open. She said they were open. The service was below average and the drinks were okay. I ordered a Venti-Iced Caramel Flan Latte and it was made very sloppy. I would say this location is great for those who like to study and do work. Lots of empty tables and not so busy at night.

I’ve always driven past this location and today I was lucky to meet up with an old friend of mine. The store was fairly empty. It was clean and the staff was really nice. As soon as my order left my lips it was being made. My friend kept getting free refills of black coffee as well which I thought was really nice, great way to encourage people to stay and hang out. WiFi was a little hard to connect to… so I could check into Unilocal ;). I’ll remember how great my experience was!

I don’t like the ease of getting in and out of this location. It has no drive-through and the parking lot is narrow and cramped. If one is going west down Kingsland, it is not possible to enter because of the boulevard. If I’m in the area and want coffee, I go to McDonalds instead because they have a drive through. Luckily, there is a new Starbucks on Greenhouse and I-10 that I will now frequent. And, yes, it has a drive through and an easy accessible parking lot.

It’s a good Starbucks. Really one of the better ones. I’ve noticed that the independent ones(non-mall or non-airport) that don’t have drive-thrus are just that much better. The Reese’s Mini Cupcake is delicious. You would think that Red Velvet means good, but the Red Velvet brownie-cookie sandwich looking thing was just bad. Java Chip Frappacino, as usual. It was one of the best ones I’ve ever had.

if you know me, you know i’m not the biggest starbucks fan. red flag: I can’t drink their espresso straight… it’s inconsistent, and very bitter. once I learned espresso didn’t have to taste like that, there was no turning back. also, I can’t in good conscience write a starbucks review without mentioning that I loathe the«closed» bar. They’ve basically shielded the area where your beverage is being prepared from your view. THISISINTENTIONAL. it’s quite disturbing to think of the possible reasons for this. I’ll let your imagination fill in the details. ok. coffee snobbery is out of the way. ;) now to review other aspects of this starbucks… I went to high school in katy, and frequented this location very often– back when I thought a macchiato was a caramel latte. ;) It’s nostalgic for me. The customer service is so-so, it’s usually an unenthusiastic student behind the bar, but they’re generally pleasant. I think starbucks is a different animal… it wouldn’t be fair or necessarily accurate to compare them against coffee shops that do «real» coffee. if you’re super into coffee, you know what you’re getting into when you walk into one, and if you’re not, then well, that aspect doesn’t matter. enjoy that frappuccino!(the java chip is a guilty pleasure of mine. :) (fyi, my reivew for the mason-kingsland location is VERY similar – it’s an almost identical experience from my point of view. however, I’d add that this location has more outside seating and hosts more events.)
