I don’t know why but all the phở places in the clear lake area are just bad. Their grilled pork is really salty and doesnt have too much flavor. The porkchop is really dry and bland. This place has changed from a few years ago and I almost never eat here anymore.

I thought I’d give this place a try and got a togo order for lunch. I will first off say that I got the total creeps as soon as I walked in the place due to the number of water stains and obvious black mold growing on the ceiling tiles. I absolutely would NOT have stayed and eaten in this place if it had not been togo. I was then disappointed to learn that I basically had to make my own soup. I’m not sure if this is customary or not. I’ve had phở one other time and I dined-in at that place; it was ready to eat when they served it to me. This place sent me away with hot broth and all the ingredients. I had to mix them myself when I got back to work, which was unfortunate bc I didn’t have a bowl and the cup they put the broth in didn’t hold enough volume once I started adding things to it. All that said, the food did actually taste decent, but not good enough for me to go back. I will try Phở again, but somewhere else.

Our Phở came out cold and the manager told me that’s the way its supposed to be??? The napkins we were given had a white powder in it that went everywhere including into my friend’s soup when she tried to use it. I spoke with the manager to let him know what happened and he responded with ’ what do you want me to do about it?’ The overall experience was just really awful. We have been there many times in the past so it is unfortunate but we won’t be going back.

My mom & I had #53. It’s a dish with rice vermicilli noodles, vegies and your choice of meat. It was so good! This was our first time eating Vietnamese in Houston and this place is just as good as our favorite place in Portland, OR, which is saying a lot! Since it’s also so near our home, it’s going to be a regular place for us, particularly since so many choices are gluten and dairy free!

Angry though I may be I really want to like this place because their food is delicious. Went in today and got the usual. It comes with shrimp. I discovered that they don’t clean the shrimp so there was poo in every single one of my shrimp. Gross. The manager is beyond rude as well. The last time I was in the girl behind the counter was on the phone and my food was ready but she couldn’t give it to me. I asked the manager to do it and he told me «Wait for her. She is on the phone.» Huh? 3 Stars for bad. NO, TERRIBLE customer service.

Solid phở both chicken and beef with good robust broth flavor. We usually get our food to go and they do a very good job with packaging. My man child can order several different menu items by number without looking at a menu so you can tell that he eats here quite often. We usually order spring rolls too which are good but heavy on rice noodles.

Great prices; even better food. They don’t have a menu option for a tofu phở(they do have just noodles and broth) but upon asking, they said it would be possible and for the same price. They placed a good amount of tofu in mine. Their spring roll is a combo of meat and shrimp – no option for just shrimp. A little unusual, but only bothersome for pescetarians. Their peanut sauce is good. We drove all the way to this place because it’s hard to find phở on Sundays! The place is clean. Lots of TVs around, and the service is great.

Phở 21 is just about my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the area, so much so that there were instances last semester where I ate there up to four times a week. Conveniently located not two minutes away from UHCL, this quaint noodle house gets absolutely bustling with university and space center diners around the weekday lunch hour; even at full capacity, however, the staff is immediately attentive to entering customers, and you’re experiencing a really off day if you wait even ten minutes for your food from the minute you walk in. The charbroiled chicken and pork are awesome in conjunction with vermicelli or fried rice, and the egg and spring rolls are awesome, but who’s keeping tabs on those? The name of the place is PHO21 — it’s all about the savory beef broth and vegetable goodness that is the Phở Tai. Seriously the most flavorful round steak and broth I’ve ever had, and that’s with phở being probably my favorite dish on earth. I’ve had nine dollar bowls of phở that couldn’t come close to what Phở 21 offers. And while I can’t recall the name of the soup right now, they’ve got a bowl that includes congealed pork blood that is both insanely spicy and crazy for the taste buds; first dish I ever had here and it was a hell of a way to be introduced to my favorite restaurant. With a quick and attentive staff, awesome food, and rock bottom prices, Phở 21 is absolutely the value leader for Vietnamese food in the Clear Lake area.

I seriously dream about this place sometimes. So sad, but true. You just cant beat this place. Very clean space, fast service and great food. What more could you ask? The phở is the best around but right now Im stuck on the charbroiled shrimp with vermicelli. YUM. I much prefer their food and the prices over the competing Phở place across the street that has groupons quite often. This place rocks. Believe it.

This place has good reviews, it is always busy when we walk by, and it has a pleasant atmosphere, but I haven’t warmed up to it yet. No favorite dish. Nice local spot, though, fits in well with the others along here.

This place is pretty amazing. The prices are really reasonable and the food is good quality. Try the Grilled chicken with rice(I know how original) #52 I think. The chicken is really good here, it’s different then your typical chicken, it probably went to college. Every server that works here is attentive and friendly. Owner is a chill dude who is all about business, and watching sports. I highly recommend this place.

6 flat screen TV’s makes for a wall to wall noodle house. Spring & Fried egg rolls are good. Good PHO, Tendon is absolutely done right. Noodles are pretty good too. Bathroom needs to be a bit cleaner. Staff is friendly but there is a language barrier.

Food is always tasty. The wait staff often forgets part of the order or gets something wrong. Typically have to flag them down if you need something because they are either doubling as cooks or hiding. Always friendly but quiet and sometimes hard to find. Sort of expensive but you never see your bill they ring you up at the front afterward.

I have been frequenting this place ever since I was a child. It’s a common go to place after school. I haven’t had much Viet food, but in my opinion, the food is always good and consistent with cheap prices. I switch between ordering a rice dish and phở. For rice dishes I usually order either the pork(46) or the chicken plate. For phở, I usually get #12. I also enjoy their spring rolls, egg rolls, and their smoothies.

Very cheap food comes with cheap quality. Every time I come here craving phở and spring rolls, I leave asking myself why did I go back… Again. The food in my opinion tastes funky. The spring rolls never taste fresh and the seafood tastes bad. The service is good and they’re all very friendly.

Whenever I visit my friends/family down south, I crave phở. Most of the good phở places are located in the Scarsdale area from what I understand, but sometimes I do not feel like driving out that way. When I heard Phở 21 was closer to NASA, I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did. I always get the phở tai(brisket) or phở bien(meatball) as my go-to dishes. To complient it, I like to get the fried egg rolls, but I prefer the chewier shell that you often see at the more gourmet Vietnamese places. These will do in a pinch. I have only gotten take-out, and you sometimes have to be careful when driving because even though the servers do their best with packaging, the soup has the tendency to spill. Get the coconut juice for flavorful slices of real coconut you can scoop up with a tall spoon. It is my latest discovery, and it always tastes great after a good workout. It can also double as a dessert if you have a sweet tooth. Phở 21 is like any other phở restaurant in Houston. Sometimes they have killer broth, and other days, they don’t. It is the best in the Clear Lake area, so that is how it got a more generous point scale. Otherwise, compared to phở fanatics, Phở 21 might rank in the 3-star range.

Sitting in that ever-so-awkward plaza that is never, ever filled with cars or people, Phở 21 has been in the Clear Lake area for eons. My family and I have ordered out from here countless numbers of times(and still do!), and it was the cool place to be for early release days and after extracurriculars in high school(Clear Lake high school is just down the street). Phở 21 offers your standard phở soups, bun(vermicelli), and rice dishes to cater the community’s taste buds, but they don’t offer unique Vietnamese dishes like the ones you can find scattered around the rest of Houston. The atmosphere is serene and clean, and the staff is nice. Menus are in English(with Vietnamese dish names as well). If anyone is a little squeamish about trying phở(why would they?!), Phở 21 has a selection of rice dishes, which are basically some type of grilled meat, rice, and an eggroll. If you order a vermicelli dish, it’s the rice dish, except the rice is switched with vermicelli noodles. And if *that’s* too out-of-this-world, then yes, they have fried rice: P Other than the regular spring rolls(both crispy shell and the clear-ish wrapper types with the peanut dipping sauce) and average phở /rice /bun, they serve fruit smoothies and very few Vietnamese desserts. We usually do take-out, and when we order phở, they pack the noodles, beansprouts/basil, and broth separately so nothing gets mushy and soggy ^^b Prices for phở and rice/vermicelli dishes are around $ 7 – 8 on average~ I am toootally in love with their orange fish sauce thing they put in along with vermicelli and rice dishes– I don’t know what you’re supposed to be dipping in it, but I eat it with just rice *heart*!! If you’re looking for anything else other than fixing your cravings for phở or a fast fix for lunch or dinner, Phở 21 can save the day; otherwise, take a drive out of the area! Good food is worth driving for: D
