Came there with my husband for dinner. It was our first time and we liked Perbacco. We ordered pasta and salads. The food was very delicious. The portions we ordered were big. I like Italian food and I understand that there it is very tasty. The place looks stylish and modern, the workers are cute and very friendly. We did not paid much money. And I forget, we ordered wine yet, the waitress advised it for us. It was a good variant. So we were full and had a good mood. I am sure we will return there and try something else.

This was the best meal I’ve ever eaten. The owner came to talk with is on several occasions. The salmon is incredible as is the eggplant. Everything is made fresh and can be made to accommodate your wants and needs. The dessert we had was to amazing for words. This is a must visit if you are In Houston.

Tonight a dear friend and I dined at Perbacco for the first time. We enjoyed ourselves and had a very good meal. Even though we arrived a bare hour before closing, the staff never once made us feel rushed. The garlicky olive oil for dipping the bread was great and there was plenty of it, as well as plenty of bread; the vinaigrette was frankly phenomenal, we both stopped every last bit up with bread. My Aumm Aumm(Pope’s Hat pasta, eggplant and fresh mozzarella in a tomato sauce) was good but not amazing… The fresh mozzarella was the best part and I would have been happy to have seen ore on the dish. The eggplant was also good, although slightly overcooked. The sauce disappointed me, as it wasn’t very robust. The cappuccino and chocolate cake I had were really on point, the cake was chocolatey and rich without being too sweet, and there were wonderful hints of kirch and cherries in the layers. My friend ordered the Penne Della Casa(shrimp sautéed in a garlicky pink brandy sauce, with penne) and while she enjoyed it enough to finish it, it was a bit of a rough and deconstructed flavor for me to pass on trying more than one bite. That one bite left my mouth tasting unpleasantly of shrimp, alcohol and garlic, but the flavors stood alone without mingling. Decidedly not for those with delicate palates. The restaurant itself was small, bijou and fresh, with a wall of windows looking onto Millam street. The staff was attentive and the Italian owner was very friendly and accommodating. I’d recommend this restaurant for a nice lunch before a matinée at one of the theaters, or for a casual dinner in a pleasant, welcoming environment.

Amazingly delicious Italian food. Only open for lunch during the beginning of the week, but worth planning your itinerary to partake! At lunchtime it is crowded, but tables turnover quickly. They have a very efficient system. I got the daily special of portobello mushroom ravioli with shrimp… divine! Comes with a side salad and help yourself to Italian bread. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the mushroom filling had a silky texture and was perfectly seasoned. The shrimp were large and plentiful. Very reasonable for the quality and portion size.

This is one of my favorite Italian places in Houston. Despite the high ceiling, hard surfaces, and loud atmosphere, I still enjoy coming here. The food is always freshly prepared with high-quality ingredients. I’m especially fond of the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio(garlic, olive oil and mushrooms), $ 10.95 at lunch.

Median italian place but pretty convenient location to the theatres. Chicken crêpe was delicious but heavy. Cream sauce was tasty. Penne was ordinary. Bread was ok as well. Not much to write here.

My first time Perbacco and it did not disappoint. Its small dining room and warm service reminds of the small restaurants in Italy. It’s such a wonderful break from the large chain Italian places around Houston. I especially appreciated their help with the wine selected, she was so helpful and didn’t try to sell me on the most expensive wine on the menu as other places might. On to the most important part, the food was absolutely on point. My beef Tortellini was so delish, the cream sauce was perfect. I did not leave a single tortellini behind! Such a great find!

All their dishes are great, everything I have tried: Gnocchi, Losbster Ravoili, and Chicken Marsala. You will want to eat yourself into a food coma with their amazing bread and oil with fresh herbs they provide. The place is small and quaint. Provides an amazing experience and excellent food! I will be going back for my pasta craving multiple times.

Was in search of a family owned Italian restaurant and hit the jackpot here! They’re only open Thurs-Sat(unless there are bigger events going on in the area other days of the week) but it’s worth the trip out to try this little gem. The décor is light, fresh and elegant but casual enough for a simple night out with friends. The food was phenomenal and the pricing is very reasonable. They even let us know they could special make or customize any of their dishes to our liking. The service was great as well which really makes a place in my opinion. Will definitely be back!

We had lunch at Perbacco, and it was OK. Nothing I really loved but not bad either. I appreciated how they had indulgent pastas, along with healthy, grilled options, but the healthy options were a bit boring. My chicken breast was literally just that – a(slightly oily) chicken breast with a side of veggies. A solid option but not my favorite spot for lunch.

Awesome place in downtown with glass windows with fancy feel and amazing family service. My friend and I both wanted dishes off the menu and the lady/cook who took our order made exactly what we wanted. The food was delicious and we felt so happy to discover this place. I will definitely be coming back for more. Even though the menu is small, order anything you can think of. Prices are very very reasonable too!

I came here with a cowork at noon for lunch. It was pack but don’t let that scares you away. We gave our orders at the register and after 5 mins later we got seated. It’s a cute small restaurant with glass window all around. I got the clams pasta with garlic and olive oil. The portion and price were reasonable. It was good for what it was and I would definitely come back.

Self service and family operated joint that’s always a great place to get lasagna in downtown.

Mixed feelings about this one. Loved the interior and the location(so close to the theaters.) Service was average and the place was packed. The Caesar salad was disappointing — just plain lettuce and standard creamy dressing… with powdered Parmesan and balsamic(??) splashed on top. This made for a strange flavor combo. No croutons, real cheese, or other accompaniments. The tiramisu was just okay. The orechiette aumm aumm, however, was amazing! Perfect savory eggplant in a rich garlicky tomato sauce with fresh mozz on top. I will go back for this dish more than once. And wine too!

Top-notch Italian food experience in Houston’s theater district! If you come to Perbacco, expect excellent service, food, atmosphere and value. Located right next to Jones Hall(Houston Symphony’s venue), Perbacco is a perfect place for a stellar dinner before attending any nearby performance. Inside, the décor is fancy but also has a casual vibe so that it does not have the intimidating factor that is often the downside of a typical high-end restaurant. Perbacco’s atmosphere is perfect to meet friends and especially host a date! Perbacco’s food also does not pale in comparison to the restaurant’s atmosphere. The menu has a decent-sized selection but you can actually ask for custom dishes! As a seafood fan, I ordered the marinara-style mussels and added pasta thanks to the owner’s suggestion. The result was splendid! The marinara sauce, something that I previously was indifferent to, successfully made the dish a flavorful delight and the nearly two dozen mussels were one of the best I had. Unless you are against seafood, I highly recommend getting this dish! My meal ended with a good cup of mocha and the bill was only $ 20! Definitely a steal for this classy, delicious meal. Especially if you are planning to attend a symphony, ballet, opera, or play performance in the theater district, pregame with an excellent meal at Perbacco!

Each time I walk past Perbacco on my way to a rehearsal or concert at Jones Hall, I look at the little fishbowl restaurant with cheery pale-blue walls and remember that I’ve been meaning to try it. Before last weekend’s performance of Mahler’s 8th Symphony, I finally made time for a pre-concert dinner. Unfortunately, not enough time to try a variety of courses! For our quick dinner, I had orrechiette in a chunky eggplant and tomato sauce topped with fresh basil and melty chunks of fresh mozzarella — tasty, and big enough that I took half home(though admittedly, I filled up on bread dipped in their signature oil and vinegar with big garlic chunks). My friend had ravioli filled with, if I remember correctly, crab, and topped with a butter sauce. I thought the sauce was a little watery/sweaty, but he seemed happy enough with his choice. The entrees came with a salad, and I can’t say I enjoyed mine: while the parmesan dressing was nice, the wilty iceberg and mealy tomato did not impress. The stars here are more for atmosphere — not to mention the friendly, attentive service — than the food. While the setting was fresh, the food was decidedly old-school.

We had dinner here before the Symphony and I loved it! The service was great, and the owner came by a few times to check on us and chat. Dinner-I had the eggplant parm and loved it! I thought the cheese, sauce, eggplant ratio was good and everything tasty(loved the basil on top). Hubby got the lasagna and liked it a lot, although he wanted basil too. Our son had a shrimp pasta dish and also enjoyed it. The wine selection is limited, but I enjoyed my white and Hubby enjoyed his red. Truthfully, this was the best Italian food we have had in Houston and I would definitely eat here again.

Trout with vegetables was a very light and healthy seeming meal. Having said that, it could really have used a bit more flavor, perhaps just some seasoning to keep it light. The atmosphere was very casual, almost cafeteria-like. OK for a weekday lunch.
