My favorite place in the whole wide world well, at least one of my fav seafood places. You get your money’s worth and also love the service.

Had the naked scallops with broccoli rab which was delicious! Hubby has the naked rainbow trout and spinach which was very good too. Drinks were made well and fairly priced. Our server was very nice. Had one small error, which she fixed immediately. Atmosphere was pleasant. Price was standard for quality seafood. I would recommend.

Being a complete Lover of the Pappas Brand, I’m disappointed in the level of service I received at this location. From the appetizer to the entrée, complete disaster. For the appetizer I ordered a shrimp gumbo & received a seafood gumbo. For the entrée I ordered a side of loaded mashed potatoes and received a loaded baked potato. After sending the baked potato back I received plain mashed potatoes without any topping. I then had to ask for topping to create the loaded mash potatoes. So basically while my friends were almost finished with their food which all came out fine, I was just receiving the items to complete my meal. The food, however delayed was still as expected and completely delicious!

I’ve come here for a few happy hours and also for dinner. The service here is usually better than other locations although the bar area is a bit lacking in size. The staff is friendly, but I wish there was a better place to wait, since the bar can become crowded when it is cold or raining when no one wants to sit on the patio, sometimes large parties who are waiting can get stuck standing by the seafood display. All in all, I’d say this is one of the better locations, based on service, but it may be a good idea to come outside of peak hours. As with most Pappas restaurants, the food in this brand is pretty consistent across the board, delicious. NOTE: If you are from Louisiana, have the bisque, not the gumbo.

The service was so great for a middle of the day trip. Lunch for a table of 5 and we were seated right away no wait. The food portions were more than we could eat and the waitress was exceptional with her service. The only downfall was the 290 traffic and construction!!!

I visited the location at 13080 Northwest Fwy on 11/16/2015, approximately 6:30pm i was parked in the To-go parking area. I entered the establishment and walked passed two ladies at the host stand, two bartenders at the bar, two patrons enjoying dinner at one of the tall tops near the bar and finally to the TO-Go area and waited alone. I engaged in a conversation on the phone to obtain the complete order that i was about to place. Another female employee emerged from the back, briefly peered over at me where we made eye contact and continued with what she was working on. The others behind the bar also continued with what they were doing. After waiting a while for them to complete what they were doing i watched the young lady who had come from the back look over at me again locking eyes before disappearing out back. It was at the point that i knew that i should just walk out of the restaurant because i was already upset that no one thought to ask if they could help me, acknowledged me to let me know that they would be with me shortly or cursed my very existence for showing up when they were already working on something. I would have been completely happy with one of either of those because i knew i just needed to be patient and someone would be with me shortly. Unfortunately i was not given the opportunity to continue a sale at this establishment before i walked out of the door in frustration. After the hell of a day that i had at work, this dinner was to be that one thing that made it all worth it. Some training on how to greet and retain a customer once they have entered the business is something that management may want to look at in the near future, five minutes of standing at an empty podium, with no one in any of the barstools and only two customers in the bar area is three minutes too much. With this store being in the area that it was in i was very hesitant to go to it in the first place, thinking the service that i always receive at the original on Westheimer would be sub-par and this experience completly lived up to my expectation. GREATJOB!

I may be a little biased because I just love this freaking restaurant! I’ve never been to another Pappadeaux so I don’t know how the other’s compare but this one in particular is sooooo good. I love the vibe of this establishment and the professionalism of the waitstaff. I’ve been to this particular location many times and have never had a single issue. My food comes out timely and at the correct temperatures depending on the item I order. When I visit — I always order a dozen of oysters and the Ginger Salmon — one word… amazing! Eating this magnificent duo always makes me smile ear to ear. This is my go to place when I’m craving it or when I’m with someone that has never been to a Pappadeaux. So far every one I’ve taken has always been impressed and loved the quality of food and service.

I’m usually a blackened catfish and dirty rice kind of guy but today I decided to step out of my comfort zone, my patient server helped guide me through their new menu. I tried the salmon with octopus and shrimp. It was great. I look forward to trying something new my next visit.

In town for business. Just had the Ahi Tuna with lump crab and asparagus. Simply put… that was amazing. Oh, and had the alligator bites. Sooooo good. And it really was pretty reasonably priced. Did I mention the ahi tuna with lump crab and asparagus. Wow!!!

I absolutely LOVE Pappadeaux! I dont think I’ve ever had a bad meal or experience at any of their locations. My favs are the Costa Rican Mahi and cheese grits, the fried crawfish/crawfish ettouffe combo, the seafood fondue and onion rings. I really enjoy the happy hour at the 290 location; light socializing in a cool environment. Beware of happy hour at the 610/Main location, its like a nightclub, packed and loud.

Went there this past Saturday night(29 August, 2015) at 2230, with my date, sat down ordered our appetizers right before the kitchen closed. It’s Monday and we’re suffering from an upset stomach and diarrhea. Add vomiting for me as well. Not bashing on the place as a whole but definitely a learning lesson to never go to a sea food place no less than an hour before they close. But either way if the cooks rushed to get our food out so they can start wrapping up the kitchen to close it down. Not very cool.

Wow what a meal! Had the oyster combo appetizer Gulf Coast and Blue Point. awesome! Try the blue point with a saltine, horseradish, and their butter sauce or cocktail. Yum! We enjoyed shrimp, catfishes and salmon dinners and everyone’s meal was fantastic! There was a slight table change request and Manager Samantha H. was so nice, friendly, and helpful and made are meal a happy family memory we plan to repeat at this restaurant again! Thanks a bunch Samantha!

I’ve been visiting Houston for over 20 years and the Pappas family has numerous restaurants serving different types and styles of foods, all over the Houston area, and have always provided good quality food in decent atmospheres for as long as I could remember, tonight was no exception. The only criticism I will make was the our table of three was served by a teen, who was not truly familiar with the menu items and had no idea regarding some of the beers and other drinks we were inquiring about. That’s not a big deal; however, our experience with this young man gets worse. So not only did he appear new to the job, but he was training a new hire while serving us, and doing a poor job, I might add. Additionally, he would forget about drinks requested for some time, while also not bussing the table and having dirty plates removed, while we were sitting there for extended time waiting. We had to ask to have the dirty plates removed, and I had to go get my own replacement silverware. At the end of our meal, when he was finally removing the dirty plates, he did NOT ask if we would like coffee or dessert, and just walked away returning a few minutes later with the bill. One of our guests wanted coffee, and I was interested in one of their desserts, but the server had done such a poor job that we took a pass. I was going to suggest going elsewhere, but each of us were staying in different areas and hotels, and our ride needed to be heading back. That’s okay, as this then saved me from consuming more unnecessary calories! Three Stars: because the Head Chef made us a special request of blackened grilled calamari, and each of our meals was excellent quality and taste. With experienced, attentive service the review would have been Five Stars.

Update– The general manager and corporate handled this situation the very next day with a follow up phone calls, several apologetic emails and even sent me a gift card($ 25 from local restaurant and $ 75 from corporate) which was unnecessary but appreciated. We will be back at Pappadeauxs again. They handled my critiques very well. Hopefully they addressed the other training issues! Adding 3 stars to my review for these actions alone. Today I experienced the worst service I have ever experienced in any restaurant –fast food to fine dining. Here comes the best part so don’t miss it– the hostesses! They were cheerful and quick to seat us and get the high chair we needed. It goes down hill from that point… We sat and waited for 20 minutes watching about 5 waiters walk around and assist other tables before I decided to approach the hostess to see if our table(table 16) had an assigned waiter. She said she would get him and would be back. Our waiter then came to our table and asked what we wanted to drink. No apology, no acknowledging that we’d been sitting at our table for 20 minutes with two whining kids. We ordered drinks and appetizers. At one point the waiter returned to ask my husband if he wanted 3 oysters Pappadeaux or 6(he ordered a half order of Oysters Pappadeaux). My husband said that just 3 would be awesome. Then the waiter said that no 3 wasn’t possible. Not sure why he even mentioned an order of 3 but whatever. After another 20 minutes, our drinks were empty and my husband was waiting on a beer. The manager, Chris, happened to walk by and we got his attention. We told him what was going on and how our experience had been thus far. He was unapologetic but did leave assuring us that things would get better. Then our new waiter came out to introduce himself and my husband ordered the beer he was still waiting on. 10 minutes later said beer shows up. The point I’m trying to make is that the service was awful. Not even after speaking to the manager did the service get better. Awful awful awful. The manager needs to be let go and the entire wait staff needs serious training. Corporate needs to step in!

I have been to a few of these across the country and this one did not disappoint. However, this was a business trip with a manger trainee so we had a lot to drink and stiffed him with the bill. Therefore, my experience may be slightly skewed. Note to the manager trainee at the restaurant who did not want to serve a margarita in a mug: Really?

Food is amazing– I got the seafood mixed grill subbed out the dirty rice for broccolini — 24 bucks — definitely could be split to feed two– generous portions of seafood– scallops, shrimp, catfish. Service was bad in this one instance– I could tell other servers were being attentive– but our chick wasn’t havin it.

Hello again friend! Normally go to a Pappadeaux in Chicago where there is a great one close to the facility I go to. I was told that this was the original one but there was nothing around that confirmed this. Not a big deal really, we had some amazing food here tonight. For appetizers there were fried cheese sticks, calamari and a cheese artichoke dip. Of everything we had, I highly recommend the calamari and the dip. The dip comes with some toasted bread and stands out since it is so well balanced. The creaminess of the dip mixed with the saltiness and the crustiness of the bread really made it a wonderful starter. I had the Chilean Sea Bass with lump crab meat au gratin and was absolutely mind blowing. The meat itself was tender and meaty with a great creamy, crusty baked topping that just drizzled into the meat. I have had plenty of dishes at Pappadeauxs now and this is by far the best item I have tried on the menu. Highly recommeded!

Pappadeaux’s really isn’t in my rotation. I’ve spent more money here than I’d like to admit looong time ago(over the years) but it’s so many spots in Houston and since this one isn’t exactly budget friendly… especially since those prices are some bull nowadays! I love love love the coconut shrimp appetizer. Delicious and I hate coconut!!! But when you fry it on some shrimp and dip it into a sweet sauce, the angels sing hallelujah, thank you Jesus. As with all of their dishes, it’s overpriced now but can’t deny it’s good. This visit I took someone’s advice and ordered the Mississippi Catfish Opu(something). It was ok but for $ 30, I was expecting more explosions, it was missing that wow to me. I’ll never get it again but 2 people rec’d it, so #shrugs Pappadeaux’s desperately wants to be seen as upscale, idk but it fails somewhere in the equation. The service was ok, he helped me decide on a dish and didn’t trip at my indecisiveness. We ordered a grip(drinks, dessert, entrees, apps) and paid a grip… I’ll be back when the mood strikes!
