After a few separate visits I can definitely say this place is a gem of a restaurant. The charm unique, and the spicy fried rice was a mountain of mouth-watering goodness on a plate – and I mean mountain.

First time visit. The food and service aren’t bad but it’s nothing to write home about. The shrimp was good but I wouldn’t recommend the fried calamari. It seemed a tad over cooked.

MAMBO FRIED RICE!!! The fried shrimp and the mambo fried tice, even the soft roll was EVERYTHING! Typing this review and thinking of the food there is making my mouth water! Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had!!! Great prices, fast service and amazing food! Customer for life!!!

Went to Hooters they were out of crawfish so I look at mambos and I saw that theywere open to 11 came over here and man when I tell you the crawfish was really really good up to the corn and a red potatoes I really really enjoyed myself I would recommend the crawfish while it’s in season to everybody thank you

The food is awesome always!!! The price is great too. The only issue I have here is the service. They have forgotten the kids food on a couple different occasions. It’s also difficult if you do t speak Spanish to order, maybe this is why I have a had time there with the service.

I would say this is a mix of Mexican food and seafood. Had the salmon with mambo rice. It’s interesting the mambo rice happens to be fried rice which I’m not saying it’s a bad thing but I think, Cool! Place is loud. One TV had a soccer game on and another TV had an Oregon vs Oregon State but the commentary was taken off. Food was decent. It wasn’t great but if you need options you can put Mambo Seafood as one of you many options.

O MY GOSH BECKY!!! I can’t believe how good this food is!!! WOW I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT!!! If you like fried rice and oysters and the BEST CHALADA (spicy beer) THEN YOU HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY!!! They also have the BEST PRICES EVER! This place is so wonderful in every way! I passed by this place so many times and didn’t even care about stopping in. Me and hubby where invited so we said ok, can’t say no to free food right, and that was the best decision EVER SWEAR! We usually don’t like other people’s taste in food, and that’s why I’m so shocked I guess, I wasn’t expecting this at all! They have cinnamon rice water (horchetha) so bomb they have it all people!!! If you love fish THEN YOU MUST GO HERE!!! LIKE NOW!!! GO!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!! GO!!!

It’s so nice to have a Mexican seafood place in town, but so disappointed that they add MSG to their Mambo rice! Beware! That is why it taste so good (MSG makes you crave more). They should put a note of this in their menu! MSG is bad and already feeling sick/foggy because of it.

My husband and I have been to this location numerous times. The food is good but the service wait time is terrible! We even started playing a game where we set a timer to see how long it takes a server to acknowledge us, and then see how long it takes to get our food. It seems to get worse every time. We actually just walked out after waiting at our table for over 10 minutes and no one came by. There were plenty of waitstaff hanging around and it wasn’t even busy. The waitstaff always looks confused/disoriented. They don’t seem to have «sections» that they are responsible for and instead have tables all over the restaurant. That’s not efficient. If you decide to dine here, expect a long wait.

It’s a decent place for a decent price. A little on the loud side, because of that we usually eat on the patio. Ed always gets the shrimp basket with rice and I get the oyster plate. The oysters can very in size, but are usually decent. The Micheladas are always good as is the ceviche. Do wish they offered more drink options.

As usual place is always busy and very loud but we are suckers for that, food its good, got to love the fried rice and the Mangonadas oh yeah, and not to mention the classic Micheladas our last time there was not the best one our food took about 20 min to arrive at our table the couple next to us got there later and were served first ! one of the dishes was missing the salad not even a fork or a spoon the waitress «forgot» and not t mention slow service oh well next time may try another location

tip: good prices. the #8 was good!
food: i got the #8 which is like 6 – 7 fried shrimp, stuffed crab and fried rice. the stuffed crab was very good. cant go wrong with stuffed crab. the seasoning was very tasty. the fried shrimp was good but nothing special. there was nothing special about the breading. no real seasoning on the shrimp. the fried rice was good with some decent shrimps in there.
place: indoor and outdoor seating. there is also bar seating if you are by yourself. place is relatively clean.
service: im updating my review. let me say the manager saw my initial Unilocal review which i complained about the wait and he reached out to me. in all fairness he was right. it was «good friday» so they had even more people than they expected. he unnecessarily apologized which means alot and means he cares very much. im giving an extra star for trying to improve customer satisfaction.
value: good food for great price

Service was terrible. The waitress said it was her first day but it seemed as if she didn’t even get trained. If she did it was not long enough. They wouldn’t put on the football game and it was Sunday. The only played soccer. Then finally they put on the game for us.
The food was disappointing. It used to be so much better. The shrimps were obviously frozen and little. And you couldn’t even order combination ceviche. You could only choose two.
Now for the worst part. The restaurant was extremely filthy.

I give this restaurant 3 stars for the two meals I have eaten there recently. The first was the whole grilled fish special and the 2 fish 6 shrimp dinner. Both were adequate. Nothing special. The restaurant stays busy so that means that it is loud. Service was ok. This is a very casual restaurant that caters heavily to the Latino market. Prices are reasonable. It is ok but definately not high on my list for a return visit. I think there are many other better seafood options out there.

Calamar con margaritas!
a pound of squid and a cold drink on the deck, throw in some ceviche and a little Vuelve de Vido and you’re good to go!
This was the first Mambo’s location for me, back about 7 years ago on one of my first business trips to Houston. I liked it then and it’s still a pretty good option for casual seafood. It’s nice to be able to enjoy al fresco.
3.5 stars, but they get the benefit of the ratings system!
