I grew up on the original Otto’s. Imagine my surprise to find one in the downtown tunnels of Houston. I have always loved the sauce. The sliced beef reminds me of my childhood and my stepfather bringing home BBQ dinner. I always enjoyed dinner. Too bad he was such a jerk and mean to me. But hey… I still enjoyed the grub. I have lovely memories of my mother fixing me plates of Ottto’s. The potato salad is yum too. As an adult, I tried the chopped baked potato and I rate it as OK. For that reason I just can’t give it 5 stars. Everything must be totally yum. Plus thete is BBQ joint I know that has outstanding chopped bakers so stiff competition. 5 Halley puppies wag their tails then curl up comforyably.

My husband and I love this place! It has the best BBQ beef ribs in Houston along with the coldest beer! The relaxed atmosphere, quick service and friendly staff always has us coming back. Be sure to get there early as it fills up quick.

what can I say it’s sort of a fast food barbecue in downtown.

I had breakfast here. Compared to the inflated price of breakfast at my hotel across the street, this is an infinite bargain. I got the solid breakfast I was looking for, quality food, fast service, and inexpensive. The lunch menu looks great too. If you’re looking for good/economical/efficient, this place is a WIN.

An oasis in a sea of crappy Downtown tunnel food. Located across from the abhorrent Maggie Rita’s, Otto’s fills a certain niche. That niche? My belly, of course. Following Alexander W’s review, I made a beeline for the brisket tacos. I didn’t go on a Tuesday, so I missed out on the great deal, but as has been previously written, they are stuffed with meat(that’s what she said?). My buddy got the bbq burger, and it was also quite tasty. The fries that came with them, while cooked well, were under-salted. That’s a faux pas in my book, but not something that is going to crater the place. On to the brisket taco. It is juicy, but not in yo face juicy like some brisket tacos that are around. Not once did the tortilla threaten to breach. Inside, it comes with grilled onions and avocado. Salsa is on the side. The star here is the shredded brisket. It had a pleasing smokey flavor, which while it may have been artificial, hit the spot. My buddy’s burger was also tasty, with the bun holding up nicely to the bbq sauce. With its close proximity to my work, I will be back to Otto’s asap. I just have to watch out for ma belly.

THEBEEFBRISKETTACOISAMAZEBALLS. This is what an addiction looks like: Every Tuesday at work, I look forward to lunch time and the two beef brisket taco + two sides + drink for $ 6.95 special. I get the shakes around 11am because I know lunchtime is drawing near. Can two pulled brisket tacos fill you up? Otto’s definitely can. It is rush-hour-west-610-loop-jammed-packed to the brim with juicy beef brisket. The brisket has a hint of spiciness that gradually builds up and smacks you in the mouth. Not enough? It is topped off with overabundant slices of fresh avocados and grilled onions.

This place is convenient to my office, located in the tunnel. Everything is great here, but what I really love are the daily specials, expecially the meatloaf, with mashed potatos and green beans. YUM. The breakfast tacos are big and yummy.
