wow, i really wanted to like this place. i was craving some indian food for lunch, but was disappointed. so i came to the jones road location thinking this was a restaurant. cuz it says indian food right outside on the storefront. ummmm no. i tried to open the door, but this lady(the chef? she was wearing an apron and talking on her cell phone) went up to me and said, «we are not a restaurant. we manufacture food.» then she shut the door. oh. so this place doesn’t serve food, yall!!! how come i see dining tables inside? and the storefront is so prominently displayed outside on the busy intersection of jones road and west road? i don’t get it. they are paying a lot of rent for that space if they don’t want walk-in customers. weird! how come other Unilocalers were able to eat inside this building/not restaurant?

This was my first time eating what I believe(correct me if I’m wrong) to be Northern Indian cuisine. I think the previous place in this location was called India Grill. Some sort of Indian buffet that was pretty decent. However, I think Nisha’s is superior. It seems like they’ve remodeled it to be a tidy, more open space. It looks great! They really have great variety in their menu. Our waiter said they even change the menu every day. My bf and I came here for lunch during the week. I ordered the Murgh Mushroom… a chicken and mushroom dish with a thick sauce. Our helpful waiter let me order it in between mild and medium spicy. Everything about the dish was fresh and delicious, with a nice kick. It was served with a heap of saffron rice and a bowl of thick lentil soup. My bf had some sort of kabob, I believe. Very flavorful ground chicken served with onions and the same rice and lentils. He had the cilantro naan, too, which I eagerly stole. I love how they have all these different suggested naans paired with the entrees. The amount of food was great, the prices were reasonable($ 10−15/entrée) and the service was very friendly. The waiter even introduced himself and shook our hands after the meal. We left the meal with full stomachs and a full to-go box. I think this is a welcome addition to the area and honestly some of the best Indian food I’ve had! Would highly recommend. ************************************************************* UPDATE: 08÷05÷11 They’re currently closed until October as the A/C unit is out.
