Visited again today, to try the house fried rice. Like before, very ordinary, edible, ok. The only reason you might remember this place is how memorable it is not!

Went here on a whim since it was New Year’s Day. When we got home we were pleasantly surprised by the flavor in both dishes. We split the Singapore noodles & the ramen. Good flavor & consistency. We will come back again.

Honestly, rather overpriced and bland food for what you’re getting. If you’re looking for Phở in Rice Village however, there are only a few options. I went with my parents and we were looking for the lunch special which seemed like quite a nice deal. In our minds, we were thinking that it would come with the full size bowl of phở and a spring roll. Usually at Phở places, it only takes at most 15 minutes for the food to come out to your table. However at NAM, we were waiting for a good half hour. The phở that we had was also not the full size bowl, but a really small portion that I guess is for the lunch«special» The broth was also something that was rather bland and tasteless, and the chicken I had in it was dry. Unless you freeze-thaw your chicken multiple times before serving it, I have no idea how you make chicken dry in Phở. I mean, it’s immersed in WATER. The spring roll, which we thought would be nice and refreshing was basically just a rice paper roll with a bunch of phở noodles jammed inside. Bland, tasteless, and disgusting. With my experience, I think I’ll take my business elsewhere. If the other Phở places in Rice Village are still as horrible as NAM, I guess I’ll have to head down Bellaire.

If I could give no stars I would! I’ve been here a few times and picked up phở and it’s would get the job done. Tonight was the absolute worst experience ever! I waited 30 minutes for my food!!! While watching multiple people who ordered after us get there food! I got shrimp Thai noodles my boyfriend got chicken Thai noodles(there version of pad Thai) and pot stickers. I was expecting steamed pot stickers they were fried, the Thai noodles were dry the pot stickers were over fried and burnt and my boyfriend chicken looked glossy and was extremely dry we think it could be under cooked and couldn’t even eat our dinner after it costing over $ 30 I will never go back here! I strongly recommend never going here! When I complained twice about how long my food was taking they said I was lying and everyone who I watched order after me called in but I saw and heard the difference between people who called in and were first ordering.

This is one of the few locations at Rice Village that actually delivers. The noodle soup is good as usual, a little pricer compare with other Vietnamese phở restaurants, however, given the prices always higher in this area, it’s acceptable. Dine in is nice too, the sitting area is nice. I’m a regular regardless of dine in or delivery/pick up. The only reason I won’t give it a 5 star is the price is higher than other phở restaurants.

I hadn’t ever ordered from Nam’s before, but was craving Phở Noodle soup and wanted delivery. So, we got fresh spring rolls, the viet rolls and the Jasmine Chicken Noodle Soup. I really like the noodle soup with chicken, pork and shrimp, so I asked for them to add pork and shrimp since they didn’t have the soup with all 3 proteins. They stated there was a $ 3.00 per shrimp charge. Yikes! So I asked if the shrimp were large count shrimp and they said yes. Ok… so I added 3 shrimp to each order of the soup. Large shrimp? Nope. They were about 41⁄50 count and didn’t look like fresh shrimp. I was really disappointed because these were not worth $ 3.00 each. All that said, this place does deserves kudos and would give a 4.5 stars if I could. I would give 5 if the shrimp had been worth the money. The spring rolls, viet rolls and the soup overall was really good. The delivery service was great and no charge for delivery is always nice. My only suggestion would be to not make any changes to the menu items if you are accustomed to your favorites noodle dishes from other Phở restaurants.

Think of Kim Son(NAM is owned by Kim Son) in Rice Village with no waiters and an abridged menu. It’s basically your typical Americanized Asian restaurant. Food is extremely expensive compared to more authentic vietnamese places. Banh Mi for almost 10 bucks?!? It’s nice to have Phở delivered to you though when you’re sick. :-)

I had no idea that there was another asian/vietnamese restaurant on Rice Blvd, and was really looking forward to try this place. I ordered the Hue Spicy Noodle Soup and was pretty disappointed. The meat portion was reasonable but the broth was definitely more sweet with a hint of spice. If your looking for a dish similar to «Bun bo hue», Phở Saigon on Milam and Huynh in EaDo do a pretty good job. Spice it up a little Nam(and less sweet). I’d love to give this place another shot when I’m in the area.

This was the nearest Vietnamese restaurant in the Rice Village that serves Banh Mi(Vietnamese sandwich) to satisfy my craving. The place is clean. I ordered a traditional sandwich combo which is come with the sandwich and a small soup. This«traditional» sandwich is nothing traditional to me. It’s served with dry shedded chicken with a few slides up pork meat. Overall the food is very mediocre.

Phở is edible, and some days it’s not really. Too greasy and too sweet. And they use the beef broth for phở ga(chicken phở) and throw in some pieces of chicken instead making real chicken phở. $ 6.25 for 4 halves of eggrolls. That is $ 3.12 for ONE eggroll. It’s good but pretty pricey for eggrolls. And Banh Mi(sandwich) is $ 9. That is crazy. If you think phở is good here I bet that you are not Vietnamese.

This phở restaurant is very Americanized. Came here because I was craving banh mi(Vietnamese sandwich) and was utterly disappointed. They don’t have the usual banh mi variety that other authentic phở/banh mi places have. And their combination banh mi did not taste anything like what it should. It tasted tangier than usual. The meat they used was completely different too. They used dried shredded pork skin instead of the usual pork meat strips. Don’t get me wrong the sandwich was still good in its own way(actually it was kinda dry cuz of the dried shredded pork)… But I just would not call it banh mi. I was craving phở tai(phở with eye round steak only) as well, but there was really only one kind of phở with brisket, steak, and meatballs all together… The«un-phở-gettable» phở. It actually wasn’t that bad though! I ordered it to-go along with my sad banh mi. What’s different here though is that the to-go meat is already cooked… And they prepackage it all inside a big black microwaveable safe container so all you have to do is pour the soup in. This is a good heads up for people that like their meat uncooked before pouring the hot soup in! Anyways, I think I wouldn’t mind ordering the un-phở-get table-phở again, but I definitely would not recommend coming here for banh mi. One look at the menu and you can tell this place wasn’t meant to appease to the Asian population. They don’t have their usual phở tai, phở tai bo vien, etc.

Blah. I honestly didn’t appreciate the food here at all. I ordered the vbowl with seven spices tofu. The noodles were too bland and the tofu too salty… overall just unsatisfying. I haven’t tried anything else though, but the bahn mi looks pretty good though overpriced. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

I’m giving 4 stars for previous delicious phở. I love their green phở. It’s got fantastic flavor and the veggies are exactly how I like them! We went for lunch yesterday. We were the only ones besides one other couple, but it was a holiday so you can’t except too much. However, the staff didn’t seem to be in any sort of rush and it took for ever for us to get our soup and sandwich. My Bahn mi was decent, $ 8 is a bit steep I think. Especially when there was hardly any meat on it. It was good, just not worth $ 8. Perhaps I’ll just stick to the phở. It’s an easy in and out. The place is always ridiculously clean and taking out is never an issue. Also, I believe it’s BYOB. So keep that in mind if you prefer an adult beverage with your meal

I stopped by the restaurant after seeing the reviews and looking at their website, and I intentionally stopped close to 1pm hoping to catch the staff doing something inappropriate after rush hour. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with brown rice, which most places don’t have the option for the same price. Rice was moist and tender and not overcooked. Staff was friendly, and food was delivered within 12 minutes. Broccoli and carrots were cooked to perfection, in my opinion. Between guests, staff wiped down tables, swept floor, restocked condiments and remove dishes. Front and back house were marked down clearly, and staff appears to help each other out when necessary. The only thing I was surprised about, other than front of the house delivered food had interaction with guests, no one asked us how food was, even though it was good.

Been here several times and it just keeps getting worse Got the Banh Mi this time and it was so dry I couldn’t even chew it. It seemed more like a dried out toast sandwich. When I took it back they told me that they could put some mayonnaise on it so I could swallow. No thanks I’d rather gargle with roofing nails. The counter help seem miserable and act like they’d rather be anywhere but there. Bön Baguette just down the street has far better Banh Mi and nicer staff.

Granted they have numerous things on the menu that are good — like Crab-tons(that sweet and tangy sauce is addicting), Singapore Noodles, and Thai Chicken Noodles the main draw for me is their Vegan Phở, which is outstanding. It comes with a light broth that isn’t oily. Tip: Add chicken for an extra $ 2 if you’re feeling really hungry and then go to the side bar. Add cilantro, mint and basil leaves. Then mix some of the brown and spicy sauce and voila — amazing flavor. The Jasmine Chicken Phở is my second favorite but I still prefer the veggie packed Vegan Phở.

Ordered this for delivery at work today in the med center. Got the V bowl with steak. Steak was excellent– the rest was just eh. The Vietnamese egg roles were off– don’t get me wrong, I ate them but I questioned my choice afterwards. Overall– was ok but would definitely try somewhere else next time.

When you need a bowl of phở large enough to rehydrate and reenergize you after a long weekend of ab workouts and bicep curls this is your place. The Thai Tea is good company for your phở but you probably don’t want to order anything else unless you have a monster appetite. The standard bowl of phở here is the size of a typical large bowl elsewhere which no one warned me about so I found myself face to rim with this unexpectedly huge bowl. They only have one size so you could share this one order with a friend. I got the un phở gettable bowl and it was pretty good. I mean when you name a dish something like that, it sets high expectations. If you’re one that can’t get enough of the side ingredients to add to your bowl like cilantro, bean sprouts, basil, etc then you’ll love their self-serve bar where you can get as much as you want. But don’t be greedy or wasteful! Just because you can get a lot doesn’t mean you should haha. I would come back when I’m in Houston if I were craving phở. The Thai tea was good but I prefer it elsewhere at any of the shops in the belaire area instead.

My friends used to eat Phở all the time, but I was never one to try new things. But lately I’ve been on this«try new things» kick. So phở was next on the list. I know I’m late! So this spot is on Rice Blvd near Kirby right across the street from Buffalo Wild Wings. Parking isn’t all that great, but that’s expected in Rice Village Arcade. Entering the restaurant there is a LED menu is on the left side of the wall kinda like the ones at Pei-Wei. But there are also menus on the registers that you can look at when ordering. Behind the ordering area there are sofas where you can sit and wait on your take out orders. Okay the food. So I read all these great things about the Un-PHO-gettable Phở so I went with that. It wasn’t bad, but for my first time I feel like I should have order something that didn’t have all of those strong flavors. Like the beef balls had a very acquired taste. So PHO a beginner. I should have stuck with something with a little less of a pow. But it definitely wasn’t bad at all. The Vietnamese egg rolls were excellent. I saw a few other reviews that they were expensive at $ 6.95 for 4. I guess if I was paying I would say the same, but… My friend ordered the Thai Chicken Noodle. He said that he liked it a lot. I didn’t try it though. I had enough flavors going on with my dish. But I will return later this week, since it’s near the gym. I’ll post photos of all of my orders.
