Stopped by without any expectations but we were pleasantly surprised! Crawfish was delicious and the corn special(comes with spicy mayo and some other toppings) was out of this world! Minus 1 star because service was a bit slow but I’ll definitely recommend this spot if you’re in the area!

Tuesday is Mambo day. They have a Tuesday special where you can have a shrimp platter for 2 for the price of $ 20. And there are 30 pieces on. You get it with salad or fries and can choose a sauce. It depends a little bit on the staff. With one of the waitress we got French fries and rice and two sauces, but not with the other. It is okay it says one sauce and either rice or fries. It takes a while before it is ready, but worth the waiting. We have not tried other food here, but speaking of the quality of the shrimp platter I can imagine that the other dishes are tasty as well. It is a good restaurant for lunch. For a nice go out evening dinner the tables and chairs are not giving an cost impression. It is a cantina, so you expect that. We have been here several times and the service was always good, Friendly, timely. So Tuesday is Mamboday :-)

I have been coming to Mambo for years! Food is always fresh and service is fantastic. The food is authentic and the restaurant is kept very clean. Cleanliness is relevant to me especially with seafood. All of the locations are good and they keep a consistent standard, although I have been loving on the Long Point location. I just might be addicted to the fried rice. Give it a try, five stars all the way!!!

First time here. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I liked it. The food was very inexpensive and good quality. I got the combo number one. Was plenty of food. The shrimp fried rice was great!

I got s mambo combo to go. Comes with fried fish jumbo shrimp and a stuffed crab with rice and fries. I haven’t been here in a few years because each time I go they get something on my order wrong. This time they got it right. I started eating my stuffed crab and sure enough, I find a hair in it. A nice long piece of hair. Thank you mambos for reminding me why I haven’t gone in a while and will continue to not go there for anything.

Normally I’m very satisfied with the service and food, but that definitely was not the case today. We waited over 20 mins and on top of that the lady gave the food to the wrong people who arrived after us. On top of that she had the audacity to have an attitude. We decided to leave and the lady gave us our free food to go. Was definitely disappointed. At the end of the day it’s their loss and I’m glad our money was not wasted on such poor service. Maybe it was the time of day but truly awful.

Always good quality and fresh seafood, little dicey location but there is always a police officer on duty. Micheladas are middle of the road nothing special. Ceviche is one of my least favorite things I’ve had here, can’t stand tomatoe sauce in Ceviche. The fried and sauted shrimp by the pound is really very good at reasonable prices. I even like the garlic sautéed octopus. The shrimp fried rice is better than most Chinese places I’ve been to and is a must try. Overall good food and service.

Bad service and bad management!!! I want to give no stars but I cannot post unless I click at least 1 star. My husband and I went to this Mambo location several months ago. The service was so bad that I can still remember to write a review several months later. Being a person that used to work in the service industry, I know how much servers rely on tips. This is the first and only time I have ever walked out and did not tip. We sat outside on the patio. We ordered 1 shrimp tostada, 1 shrimp ceviche, half dozen oysters, and 2 drinks for a quick bite. The waitress brought out 1 fish tostada and 1 fish ceviche and says it wasn’t her fault, it was the kitchen’s fault. It then took another 20 minutes to get the correct order. The drinks came out way after the food. Our waitress was not friendly and did not check up on us. We had to ask another waitress to ask our server to get the check. After 15 minutes, we asked another waitress to ask our server for the check again or get it herself for us. After another 15 minutes, we walked up to the cashier counter to pay. One lady behind the cashier asked us what table we sat at and I pointed to the table. As I pointed to the table, I make eye contact with our waitress and she sees me but still doesn’t come over to help. The lady behind the cashier then directs our situation to another lady behind the cashier and after another 10 minutes, she figures out which table we were at. This whole time we were as patient as can be and did not even complain to a manager. This review should be sufficient. NEVER going back!

The mambo house rice is really darn good. Great portions also. Rice for one can feed three.

I’ve come to expect friendly service and great food from Mambo. This location is no exception. I ordered takeout from this Mambo location when I worked down the street on Gessner. The waitress who took my order spoke clearly and was very friendly — my order of regular pork & shrimp Mambo rice«habanero style» was ready in 10 minutes. Everyone who I encountered when I went to go pick up my order was friendly and attentive. Keep serving great food and I’ll keep coming! With takeout orders they give you a refrigerator magnet with their locations phone number which I think is a nice touch. NOTE: if you can’t handle spicy save your money and don’t order your Mambo rice habanero style. I was sweating while eating it – trust me it’s not a good look on anyone.

Service was okay. For some reasons, the lady had such a difficult time taking my to-go order which included one appetizer and one combo. The food wasn’t worth what I paid for. The restaurant was clean, friendly-looking, and brightly lit. Overall, everything was meh. I can find better seafood somewhere else though. Sorry.

I’ve always enjoyed the shrimp cocktail. the #1 meal and their Micheladas. Today was no exception although the service sucked. they forgot my meal and I waited forever ugh! I must say that I spoke to the manager and she did adjust my tab. All in all though the food and drinks are great and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Still recomment. BTW the Mango Rita’s are the sheeeiitttt too lol!

I’ve been to two different Mambo’s and have to say I was a little disappointed in this location. The service was really slow and I waited for my food longer than 30 minutes. The food was ok and it felt like I could get better fried fish and shrimp at Long John Silver. Not that great of an experience and I wouldn’t want to come back to this location.

We were in the mood for seafood so tried this little gem, recommended by son-in-law. At first site we aren’t impress it looked like a fast food joint, a Mexican«Long John Silvers». But I was wrong, this is one of those,” don’t judge a book by its cover”. As we went in we were greeted by the hostess and she walked us to our table and told us the waitress would be with us in a while. The menus were on the tables where the napkins are so we got the menus and started to see what we wanted to try. They were two menus: 1st one its a regular menu with appetizers, soups, seafood platters, etc… 2nd that seafood by the pound. You pay for seafood you want(fish red snapper, catfish, ect…, shrimp, mussels and more). Pick a style you want it cook fried, steam, sautéed, etc. sides rice, fried and more Ok the waitress showed up, took our drink orders and appetizers. So tried their chelada beer, if you ordered this make sure you ordered the sauce on the side. If not the chelada might be to spicy. The drinks made it to our tables and appetizers to and she took our orders. We were all talking and notice it was taking long when all of a sudden our food showed up. Fresh, not food that’s been under the heat lamp. I had the sautéed butter and garlic lobsters which was amazing. The the other plates looked good to. Fried shrimp with stuffed crab w/fries Fried catfish and shrimp with mambo’s rice. Even the cheese burger my daughter order. The mambo rice is fried rice with shrimp very delicious. Everything was fine except our waitress, started off great than bad. She didn’t check for the refills, took a while before we got the check, another while before picking up the check. Called her twice told me to wait. I would understand if they were busy, but she wasn’t that’s the thing. So instead of s 4 maybe 5 star only 3 stars. But do tried it food is amazing

Food is ok, I dont think they season their fried food very much. Walking into the door to pick up my food I was immediately greeted. It was kind of hard for me to understand the lady I placed my order with on the phone because he accent was very strong. Almost made me want to say forget about it. I will porbably try them again but sit in next time and get me a mangolava drink.

What a hidden gem! Good quality seafood if not fancy. Simple fried shrimp and fish is hard to beat. French fries are good but get the Mambo rice! It’s basically fried rice and it’s good! Calamari was also delicious. And the seafood gumbo… Oh man it was awesome. Had a small with dinner and ordered a large to take home. Outstanding. Really hearty portions too and VERY affordable. Probably my new go-to date night place. Very casual environment so don’t expect fancy. Soccer game going on several TV’s. Margaritas were mixed strong too. Great place for great food at very reasonable prices. Try it.

I was in the memorial area with my sister and we were craving some good seafood. We ended up finding this place in a not so nice part of town but figured out was good from how packed it was. Everything on the menu had a Mexican flair. We got the shrimp basket as well as the fish and shrimp plater each with the special mambo fried rice. While the fish and shrimp were good, the shrimp fried was amazing! It was Asian style but had the Mexican touch that I was expecting out of this place. Another great thing is that for a seafood place this place is surprisingly cheap. However, you can tell where they cut costs by the lack of a nice interior and cleanliness.

I decided to give this restaurant another chance. I visited on a Monday recently. Though the waitress was clueless as to the restaurant having sangria, she was attentive and the food was really good. While we had visited the restaurant in June for Father’s Day and the fried rice was skimpy on shrimp, this time, the shrimp was abundant. Though I don’t really order fried rice at other places to compare, it was delicious. The octopus we had as appetizer was super tasty with a chipotle sauce. It wasn’t chewy at all. Then I had the grilled salmon. The outside was crispy and the inside buttery. Superb. The corn on the cob was accompanied by fresh cream or similar and it was al dente. My boyfriend had a whole fried tilapia and liked it. They have a new non-alcoholic drink called pepinada. The cucumber beverage is refreshing and not too sweet. I am eager to return to Mambo this time. By the way, they do have sangria. I saw another customer drinking one. And they had a flyer on the bulletin board with a photo of the pitcher and glass.
