I am a huge fan of seafood so my boyfriend wanted to take me here to try it out. For our starter, we ordered the ceviche and an order of stone crabs. The ceviche was refreshing but the stone crabs were bland and lacked that natural sweetness. For our lunch, we ordered the catfish with shrimp étouffée empanada and fries and the special combo of grilled catfish and fried oysters with veggies on the side. The fish wasn’t bad, the fries were a bit dry and the shrimp étouffée empanada was overcooked on the outside. I absolutely love oysters so the fried oysters were good, but I tasted nothing special about them. Overall lunch, the ceviche was the best part of our meal. Our server did a good job of making sure we were satisfied so I would definitely say service was good.

Ran into Chuck Norris there so needless to say that made my experience perfection by itself. The waiter made some remarkably funny Chuck Norris jokes to go with. The salmon with shrimp empanadas and the red velvet cake was extremely bomb also.

We reserved the Halibut room for a small wedding reception. We found out the day before the event that our contract was never received. Superstar manager, Danette Leatherwood came to our rescue and made sure every detail was satisfactory. The room was beautifully intimate, and the food was superb. We chose the Matagorda menu, which was perfect. The food was delicious, offering just enough choice for our guests. We were able to bring our own cake, which was cut & served with great care. Knowing our somewhat dissatisfaction with the cake, Danette, again, came to the rescue offering dessert options from the menu«just in case.» It turned out fine, but I cannot stress enough the superior attention to detail & service we received. If ever a need for an intimate, private setting, do not hesitate to contact Danette. We certainly won’t for our next family event!

My favorite place for appetizer. Awesome food, classic décor, satisfying service, and decent portion. Never wrong to pick this place.

I gave this place several chances(including ordering for a big meeting with our big boss who was visiting from Europe) and three times it did not meet my expectations(vs the price). No complaints regarding the service or the place, which I think are welcoming and efficient but the level of gastronomy really lack some finesse(when you’re not ordering the fried platters) With the competition that exists in the Houston area for seafood restaurants and the multiplication of more modern-style options, I find it surprising that Goode wouldn’t put higher standards to its food. It seems to me that they count on their regulars and hope that it will last forever, without trying to improve.

One of the best seafood restaurants in Houston, Goode Co. has a relaxed, neighborhood type vibe along with excellent service, fantastic food and a great selection of cocktails. Two of my coworkers had never been so we went to celebrate a birthday and they loved it as much as I do. Don’t miss the Campechana!

I absolutely LOVE seafood. I love it so much that I eat it several times a week. After dining in for the second time, I felt that I could give an honest review. I’m giving this place 5 stars because they have mastered everything that a restaurant needs to have to satisfy a customer. The staff is prompt, polite, professional, always checks on you, and seem genuinely happy that you are there. Oh, and the food is awesome. My favorite dish is the seafood platter. This is a fried dish, but the cooks always accommodate my special request. I get the catfish and shrimp grilled instead of fried. Helps to balance things in my mind… makes me feel like I’m still eating healthy. Anyway, this platter covers everything. It consists of catfish, shrimp, oysters, stuffed shrimp, stuffed crab, a shrimp étouffée empanada, and your choice of a side. They also bring you bread when you first arrive. Who’s not stuffed after eating this? This food is 100! This is not one of those cheap, fast food type of restaurants. This place is a class act with the professionalism, décor and prices to prove it. The food is worth every penny. I promise you won’t be disappointed and it’s much better than some of the other seafood restaurants that I won’t name. I’m definitely coming back for a visit real soon.

Awesome happy hour items that is enough to fill you up, we ordered the half shell oysters where you get to choose 3 of their speciality oysters, half dozen fire roasted oysters, redfish beignet and camponche which is like their fish and shrimp cocktail, everything tastes amazing and fresh, will came back to try out the rest

I love the Goode Seafood company. I never had Campechana or even heard of it until I moved to Houston a couple of years ago. The first place I tried it at was the Goode seafood. Loved. I have tried it several other places but they where not nearly as good. Now the only place I will eat it at is at the Goode Co. Malaise the bar keep is so nice friendly and most of all deliveries exceptional service. Making you feel at home and welcome.

Service here was good. Our waiter was friendly. Food how ever took such a long time to come out. I ordered the Mexican campechana and I did not like it :(it wasn’t flavorful like a traditional Mexican cocktail. I didn’t taste any lime or cilantro. The setting was very beautiful and clean the restaurant was perfectly lit. I had been wanting to try this place out for a few months but nothing in the menu looked like«OMG I have to try it» it was mediocre. 3 stars for good service

Went for a celebration lunch with a team from work. I had passed by this place several times over the years, but never popped in. I loved the seafood gumbo — the base is thicker than normal. I would even say it’s creamy. Great seasoning with a little kick. I also enjoyed the complimentary bread. I’m not big on bread so that compliment is saying something! The red snapper was seasoned with a nice blend of spices as well. It was topped with a tasty shrimp creole and came with a side of seafood rice. The most interesting item on my plate was the shrimp empanada — delish!

Always good and always consistent. The Gumbo there is creamier than most and loaded with seafood. Their grilled asparagus is also especially tasty. Their flounder is very good but not always on hand which is unfortunate. in my mind this is a place to stick with the grilled over fried so the true flavor can shine. Always clean with good service.

Nice alternative to the usual Pappadeaux’s or Landry’s. The only slight disappointment was that the garlic bread was not warm. Otherwise this place is awesome. I love the seafood choices. So many good things to choose from that it is hard not to find something you will love. I started with the seafood gumbo. It was very tasty and filled with seafood including a big oyster, shrimp and crab. Delicious. My wife had the boiled shrimp. She said they were very good and seasoned well. The garlic bread was good, but it was not warm. It had plenty of garlic flavor and oil or butter. So much that is was dripping when we picked up each slice. If it were warm, it would have been excellent. I had the grilled trout and shrimp. Both were very good. The flavor of being grilled was perfect. I would get this dish again. My wife had the grilled catfish with shrimp étouffée on top. This dish was also very good. She had fried green tomatoes as a side and she said they were flavorless. No spice or seasoning. My son had the grilled chicken breast and said it was on of the best he has had. The theme here seems to be to stay away from the fried food and stick to the dishes that are grilled. We look forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

Christmas eve dinner. Walked in thinking we would probably not be able to stay since it’s either packed or whatever else the reason. NOPE! They sat us down in less than 5 minutes! I’d hate to work as a waiter on christmas eve and yet everybody was super nice.(Hope all the customers were nice to them as well.) It was thursday so the dozen oysters for $ 8 deal was still on. My dad destroyed it. He said it was pretty fresh and tasted clean and not super seafood-y. Followed the recommendations from Unilocal and got the campechana. Couldn’t decide between the crab or the shrimp so got the Extra which comes with both! I give it a 5⁄5. Huge chunks of crab, shrimp, and avocado with enough of all the other veggies too. Chips were crunchy and not too salty. Would definitely get this again. Parents shared the mesquite skewer. They asked the waiter to split the dish. So they both got a skewer each, seafood rice, and a bunch of fries. The skewer had different types of fish and vegetables. I wasn’t too interested(neither was my mom because she was too full from the campechana) but my dad destroyed his plate! Overall, it looked like a good portion of well made, good quality stuff. I got the Mesquite Catfish Filet with Shrimp Etoufffe. It comes with a side so I ordered onion rings. I thought the catfish filet was going to be fried but it wasn’t and it was actually better that way. I think I might have had a heart attack if it was fried. Catfish was well cooked and looked/tasted fresh. The shrimp étouffée that smothered it was a good taste that complimented well with the catfish. I also could not finish my plate so had to take it home to go. The free garlic bread was also good! I’d come back here any day.

Our Server was very polite but Service was a little slow and could have been a bit more attentive considering we beat the dinner rush. The food was fabulous … I had the«Campechana De Mariscos(Shrimp and Crab)» as my meal with a side of «Fried Green Tomatoes». The Campechana was full of seafood and I had just the right amount of chips. The tomatoes were crunchy and tender. Parking — Located in a shared shopping complex there is plenty of parking. Dinning room can be a little noisy but good for parties of 6 to 8.

First time trying them and wow so good. All plates come w this amazing shrimp empanada.

Great place! Since you walk in the environment feels great, they lighting is medium and feels comfy… The service is very good, friendly and professional. They welcome you with garlic bread, is warm and toasted, it’s so good! I usually ask for more… For appetizers the Campechana is very famous, I always order it, either crab only or crab and shrimp mixture. Raw oysters are very good as well, I haven’t try the special ones but they have a good variety on the menu. For the entrees, redfish and shrimp mesquite grill, the mesquite flavor is great and the Fish is very fresh., I have also ordered the specialities that they have out of the menu, the preparation is more complex with more ingredients and flavors. Seafood empanadas! Are so good, you get one with your entrée… I definitely recommend this place.

This was my first visit to Goode Company Seafood, but it won’t be my last, we had a fantastic experience here tonight, we grabbed a high top in the bar area. The bar area as you’d expect is a little more relaxed and well lit compared to the slightly darker restaurant side so choose your poison. I didn’t really know what to expect strictly going on the reviews in regards to atmosphere but I must say its just an all around great restaurant. From the moment we walked in the it was apparent they understand customer service Autumn our server was amazing, very out going friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable of the restaurants selections. She immediately got our drinks going and offered up a few appetizer ideas. She also made a few suggestions on the entrees and what was really impressive she knew there were only 5 orders of fresh halibut left, the soft shell were not being offered due to the season, the size and that they refused to serve frozen seafood. I chose a Hopidillo IPA for starters and a cup of seafood gumbo, honest the gumbo was a little thicker than I like it but the flavor was there as well as an ample of amount of crab, shrimp and oysters, the consistency and color really reminded me of étouffée it was served without rice and due to the texture I think that was a good way to present it. The French bread comes out warm and buttered before its toasted it was crusty and chewy just as it should be a perfect selection for Cajun themed food. We decide to check out the raw oysters Autumn did say she thought they were leaning towards the small side but would throw in a free extra ones if they looked smaller than they should be. They arrived shucked perfectly, very clean very fresh, a really nice size and full of flavor. The first dozen were so good we decide to have a few more, each dozen seemed better than the last as did the beers. Just my luck the oyster extravaganza is Thursday nights these magnificent pearls from the sea are only $ 7.95 a dozen then(I’m coming back) tonight’s market price was a flat $ 16.00 a dozen I really felt the price was fair for the quality. There’s not much more to add coming here tonight was a good decision they have a nice menu so if you like seafood you should be happy they also serve steaks and a nice selection of fish and a great selection of salads. There’s no doubt they earned a customer tonight.

We came here on a whim one night while we had a guest in town that has lots of ‘food issues’, so finding a place that can gratify to her needs in high on the list. Since she can usually get just some grilled or baked fish — this place seemed it would hit the mark. It was a very busy night and out waitress was moving like she’d just done a line in the employee bathroom. She talked so fast and was looking around to observe her tables I was shocked when she actually knew what we said. Maybe I should take speed multi-tasking lessons. However amazing it was it didn’t seem very personal and I’m still left with an unclear feeling about it. Our food was pretty good and came out swiftly. The kitchen must have been on fire that night! I love fried oysters and I was astonished that they were in a close tie with my favs in town. I enjoyed the shrimp empanada too. My man got his gumbo and was let down by the meat(or lack thereof) part of it. The flavor was good, but where was the chunks of seafood? That was not a good situation — unhappy boyfriend is not who you want to be sitting by. The kid got a salad and I swear it was larger than her head and loaded with grilled chicken, tomatoes, etc. Our picky guest got her plan grilled scallops and was a happy clam. Had that gumbo been better, I think we’d be coming here more often, but guess we’ll be sticking with Papadeaux for our gumbo/oyster nights! Dang –those oysters were right up there for me. Maybe I can convince him to try something else?
