This bar is perfect if you are looking for a cheap afternoon drink in Rice Village. Most of the beers on tap range from $ 4 – 6 and they also have cocktails available. It seems like the happy hour here doesn’t start until later in the evening(at least on weekends) but they do have some sort of special daily. There is a massive patio, so if you don’t mind the heat/humidity, it is a great place to hangout with a large group. The inside of the bar is divey but still super comfortable if you are looking for a cooler(temperature wise) space. They don’t serve food in the bar, but the last time I was there, there was a man cooking crawfish right at the entrance which patrons could purchase and bring into the bar.

Probably my favorite bar in Rice Village! I like coming to the area when I’m trying to have a casual good time, not anything to hyped up, and this is my go to spot. Most bars around here are cool but for some reason me and my friends lose signal immediately when we walk in to other ones, so that’s just another plus about this one, yes signal! Relatively cheap beers, with a good selection, very relaxed environment with a few games and some music too. Again, this is my go to in rice village!

Love their happy hours! And the best part is that you can actually bring food their to have it with the drinks! but it gets really loud when they are having a event but other than that this little woodrows is pretty awesome

Standard beer selection, crowd, and venue. They’ve got the wooden interior thing going on, but not in a «crisp» way but rather a softened old cottage way. There are several TVs available for game watching, but you’ll have to squint as they’re mostly on the smaller side. Still, I did appreciate that they were willing to tailor the TV channels as best as possible to please everyone. Only sound for the most popular game though.

Rice Village bars are the best for casual, non-raging nights with good friends, and Little Woodrow’s is no exception to this rule. The venue is big enough and has tons of seating indoors and outdoors. It has an older, wooden, no-frills, vibe about it, and the crowd is diverse and casual. I’m not sure I would call it a sports bar, but there are tons of screens to watch the game on as well. There’s a jukebox in the back, and your standard darts and other bar games too(but no turtle racing here). Also, if you’re like me and happen to be unwinding from exams with your colleagues on a Monday night, hit up the $ 2.75 Texas beer special! Some nights are for bar hopping in Midtown. For chill nights when you want to stay in one spot and enjoy substantial conversation with the squad, keep this bar in mind.

I go here just about every Sunday for NFL games. Their Bloody Mary is on point and recommended. Their restroom has a slight odor and there is no kitchen only a BBQ guy. But I love the environment and the staff!

Little Woodrow’s is a great bar for hanging out outside on the patio or even inside with the big doors open and fresh air flowing. It’s also perfect for sporting events with plenty of TVs. The beer selection is pretty great too with plenty of local craft beer and several varieties to match any taste. They even had a few seasonals on tap. Unfortunately they don’t serve food though sometimes have steak available from a cart, but this was a bit too much. Service was super friendly and knew the beer menu well.

I like all of the Little Woodrow’s I’ve been to(at least two in Houston and two in Austin). They’re always casual, laid back, and always have great beers. We were there for Tuesday night’s Geeks Who Drink trivia game — and it’s a great time! Beer, trivia, 25+ teams! They don’t serve food, so you can just order from around. Some people had pizza delivered. A girl on my trivia team got food from the Middle Eastern place next door! Fun times!

Chill spot. Rice village for the most part isn’t as packed and alive as Midtown nowadays. But there’s good conversation and a positive vibe in the atmosphere. I don’t drink but I’m having a good time with friends.

Beware! If you forget to close your tab, they will throw expensive shots on it in an effort to make more money! When you approach them about it the next day, they claim there is nothing they can do. This is not the first time that I have heard of this place doing this. MAKESUREYOUCLOSEYOURTABS!

Our favorite place to hang out. Great patio bar, great bar tenders. Always a good time. They don’t serve food but will let you bring some in. Great neighborhood hangout.

I usually check out this place about once a month mainly because im in the area. After eating at a potluck I go to once a month I usually have a drink or two before I had back to my side of town. The place is small but the patio is big & spacious. Patio is dog friendly so feel free to bring your pup while you sit back drink a few and watch some sports. This place has a nice beer selection & a good variety of liquor. I usually get a Jameson & coke to wet my whistle. Service can take a bit, just depends on how busy the place is. Usually there 2 – 3 bartenders so overall not too bad. Every night they have some sort of drink special which is nice. I will continue my once a month potluck-little Woodrow regimen.

My first Little Woodrow’s experience was at the location in Midtown about two years ago. This one was completely different in atmosphere and style. A lot more laid back, less yuppie, and cheaper. So my conclusion is that all locations vary by neighborhood, etc. The Saturday night special was a giant mug of beer for $ 3.50, not bad. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Big televisions, an arcade beer pong game in the back corner, jukebox. Pretty solid bar. I’ll probably return if I’m in Rice Village and looking for a casual place to hang for awhile.

Came out to Little Woodrow’s for trivia night for the first time. It was so fun! People could relax, have some beers, bring their dogs, and even bring in food from outside the joint. They had a TON of beers on tap and awesome specials during the week. I went on Tuesday and they had huge mug beers for $ 4.75 For trivia, the space was limited and we could push tables together for our big group, so that was a bit disappointing. All in all a great experince for people 21 — 35. :)

Came here after a Texans’ game and the place was packed! I may be too old to come here during the nighttime and during the summer… but our group still seemed to enjoy chatting, even if it was incredibly humid outside. Lots of drinks(beers, some wines, ciders, shots, cocktails, etc.) but the service seemed kinda slow. Maybe it was because it was packed, but I felt like we kept getting overlooked for people who had just walked up.

I tried this Little Woodrow’s this past Tuesday for their Trivia night with some friends. Trivia begins at 8pm so we all arrived at 7:45pm and had no problems finding seats, it did begin to fill up quickly though. With it being a hot and muggy summer night, we were lucky to get a table inside(even though the windows were open so it didn’t feel like we were inside) and got to be slightly cooler than those folk sitting outside who didn’t have the pleasure of sitting under ceiling fans! They use the Geeks Who Drink trivia questions which can be tough, but overall seemed like a lot of general knowledge! I was disappointed in the sound system and overall trivia part, it was confusing and we couldn’t hear the questions half the time. I wish they would put the questions on different TVs throughout the bar so we could read the questions! I get that it’s noisy in bars, especially when some tables aren’t playing, but this was extremely difficult to hear and we found ourselves just getting frustrated while playing instead of actually having fun. I will say, the hosts of the night were very nice, they gave us a few free drink coupons which was awesome! I don’t think it was their fault, just the bar was tough to host trivia or the sound system or something! As for the rest of the bar, there isn’t food served at Little Woodrow’s so eat before you come! There is a nice big patio outside(which seemed to have a lot of smokers, happy I was inside). They do have different happy hour specials throughout the week, Tuesdays is $ 4.50 giant mugs of beer! Woot!

This place is great for what it does. It’s not a fancy bar, it’s an affordable country/Texas bar. Good place to come with friends or just to kill time. The bartenders are nice and willing to make friendly conversation with the patrons. They have great beer specials for everyday of the week, a couple video games, darts, jukebox, picnic, table seating, and a nice deck.

Looking for a place to just chill and drink… well, come on down here! I like joining my friends at Little Woodrow’s to hang out and be silly. We usually hang out here when the weather is awesome(like how it’s been lately) and catch up. Drinks here are your typical beer and liquor. If you’re looking for wine then you’ve come to a bad place for that. Since they do not serve food at this location, you can order food right next door(Istanbul Grill) and they’ll bring it to you or you can grab anything around the area and eat here.
