Everything I’d expect from a Jimmy John’s: delicious bread, simple and tasty sandwiches, so quick that the sandwich is all but made by the time the cashier is done ringing you up. I had my usual Slim 4(turkey) with cheese and mayo packets on the side. This particular location also has a fair amount of seating inside if you want to eat in, and it’s practically next to a light rail stop, making it convenient for anyone riding the red line. They deliver, too, so if you’re in an office nearby you are in luck!

This place is fast and ALWAYS gets my order right!!! I wish they delivered but I don’t mind walking a few blocks for that buttery bread :) Keep up the great work!!!

This Jimmy Johns is awesome several times I’ve been in a crunch and had to order lunch from there, and they delivered in 10 minutes. My coworkers can’t believe how fast they are. It’s like they make the sandwich on the way over to my location. Absolutely outstanding when the guys come rain shine. Whatever I always give an extra $ 5 tip I just love the sandwiches thanks for being downtown.

This place has an incredible business model. You can order online, hit send and 10 minutes later the front desk is calling to tell you it has arrived. They even deliver one sandwich with no delivery charge. Now the food. The bread is very very good, all of the meats are fresh, no rainbow packs like Subway, all of the calories for the various options are all on the menu. These are great sandwichs. I will go 4 stars because I wish they had a few more side options. In the 40 – 50 times I have ordered from this place, I do not believe they have ever gotten a sandwich wrong. The delivery people are all super nice as well.

You will freak. This was the first Jimmy Johns I’ve been to and I did. By the time I’d finished paying and put the change away my lunch was ready. Awesome, and tasty too. Also apparently they received a top hygiene rating recently too.

I would give this a 4 star but it seems like the people that work at Jimmy Johns barely want to do much of anything but slap a sandwhich together the second the words come out your mouth and then wait for the next customer. What urkes me the most though is the couple of times I do go; I usually order chips AND a sliced pickle on the side. ITSONTHEMENU. So I pour my water; stand by the pick up counter a couple of feet away from the guy I just ordered from and my sandwich is RIGHT there sitting there. So I bag the sandwhich, chips, pickles, and napkins in my bag as the employees just stand there. Mind you I was one of a few in the place. I sit down and the pickle isnt cut; doesnt bother me TOO much but I didnt ask for much and specifically brung up how I dont want to chew on a whole pickle for lunch. So my only gripe if for these guys to try a little more. Also currently there is construction going on to the right of this Jimmy Johns [Rusk & Fannin] so its a little tricky if you are coming from the direction of the construction [sidewalk is close] so its a good idea to come around from left side of the building.

I used to think their radio commercials were silly. Never thought of ordering from them, but one day they delivered samples of their sandwiches and menus at my office. YUM! Very good! Took a menu with me to my desk. I had started an online order from them a few times, only to hit cancel, never following through with it. Wasn’t sure what delivery sandwiches would taste like, what if they got my order wrong, etc. Excuses excuses. One day I was swamped with a project, had no chance of stepping away for some lunch. The chances of me being able to run out, grab something to bring back to my office were narrowing. I finally decided to place an order that day and I have been a faithful customer ever since. The first time I ordered, I thought the receptionist was joshing me when she called me 10 mins. later to say that my food was delivered. I have no idea how they would have put together my food and delivered it within 10 mins of ordering. I figured my food would be a mess – I could imagine them just slapping everything together, wrapping it up, throwing it in a bag, but it wasn’t. It was just as I ordered, cut in half, add dijon mustard, extra peppers on the side and best of all DELICIOUS! Some time later, I ordered again. I envisioned this mêlée of staff in the kitchen with the manager, in bootcamp-fashion, shouting out my order. Then some poor kid running down the street with my delivery. I seriously do not know how they pull this off, but I get a fresh, delicious, made to order sandwich every time I have ordered. There has only been **ONE** time when my order wasn’t delivered at a lightening fast pace. I had a co-worker in my office, my online order on the screen, hand on the mouse poised to click the confirm order button. I told her, «watch this… click.» She stayed in my office while the minutes passed. Then more minutes passed. By 15 minutes, I was getting panic stricken. Thoughts of some delivery guy having been hit by a car while darting across the street ran through my mind. I eventually called them – not to complain – but to make sure that the delivery guy was okay. They apologized profusely, but they had been very busy that day and my order would be there shortly. The next time I ordered, it was prompt as usual, and the delivery guy apologized for the delay in my *previous* order. =) Our office moved from downtown, so I no longer have the opportunity to order from them. I did notice that today(July 20, 2012), they are on the Channel 2 «Restaurant Report Card» with an A on their recent restaurant inspection. Just another great reason to praise them. Congrats, Guys!

Oh Jimmy, you served my frat well being so close to our house and being open so late every night after impromptu trips to the bars and house parties … and studying(hi Mom!) So I am glad to find we cross paths again years later. However this time your sandwichery is not an enchanting offset to the debauchery that happens down the street *points* at the Flying Saucer after business hours(and then some) have passed. With your prime location why are you only open from 11am to 4pm? This angers and confuses me, since you would make an ideal stop after the bars like you were in college. You make an acceptable lunch, just like Subway, however I consider you to be more drunk food than«healthy eating» — so I suggest you start lining up shots when I order my #12 and after a few I might change my order to the Gargantuan.

I ate at this place because it was the only restaurant in the area that was open on a Sunday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. This place is very similar to Subway, with two notable exceptions. First, the bread is better — a lot better. Second, the décor is amazing and humorous, which gives some pretty great entertainment while you’re eating.

How are these sandwiches made so quickly? This is the first JJ’s I’ve ever been to, and I’ve become a fan rather quickly. The french bread is delicious and the fountain has Cherry Coke in it which is always a win for me. Delicious sandwiches and Cherry Coke. How can you go wrong with that?

I went to this location for the first time today during my lunch break. It is easily within walking distance from my office building which is very convenient. I hadn’t eaten at a Jimmy John’s since college but it was just as delicious as I remember. I ordered the turkey sandwich and made a few special requests(as I tend to be a little picky about my sandwiches). The sandwich was ready before I got to the drink fountain to fill up my cup and it was made perfectly to my specifications. It wasn’t overly crowded and we were easily able to find seating. Overall a good experience and I will definitely be eating lunch here more often.

The Jimmy John’s on main street has definitely been a integral part of my work lunch rotation. Being a UT Austin grad, the«free smells» brings back some fond memories of the college days when visiting the sandwich shop off MLK. Even at this location in downtown Houston, I still feel some of that college town vibe(despite the fact that majority of customers are also professionals downtown). I enjoy ordering my sandwich from the laid back(potentially stoned) work force. They are always super quick at preparing the sandwiches(maybe not stoned?), and, on occasion, I’ve gotten my sandwich before finishing paying for it. The rare roast beef is my favorite. I had the Billy Club on their 7-grain wheat bread as opposed to their signature french bread, and really enjoyed it.
