This place is perfect. It looks divey from the front, and it is. But in the best way. No frills inside, but there are pool tables, jenga and a couple arcade games. I was there on a Sunday and they had the football game playing on big screens, but it’s not overly loud at all. There’s a good-sized patio outside with 10ish tables that were very well shaded mid-afternoon. $ 1.25 beers for happy hour, and the bartenders are extremely attentive — I was tucked alone into a table in the corner and was checked on often.

Surprisingly GREAT food! For example, the eggrolls are hand rolled in-house, then fried. BEST bar food on the NW side.

What can I say. I love this little divey sports bar. Cheap drinks, friendly bartenders, plenty of televisions playing sports– they have the essentials covered as well as a full menu filled with typical bar fare. The food here is really hit or miss. I really enjoyed the big juicy wings! The lemon pepper flavor is great and you can get two different sauces if you wish. Just don’t get the bleu cheese dressing with it. It’s more of a vinaigrette than creamy and didn’t work well with the chicken. The chicken strips were bland. The Philly cheesesteak was mediocre. It’s standard bar fare. They offer events throughout the week including poker night and karaōke night. There’s a couple of pool tables and a few arcade machines as well as darts if you’re craving other forms of entertain besides watching sports. If you’re looking to chit chat, sit at the bar. Usually someone wants to strike up a conversation. They do have daily specials on drinks, and on game nights there’s even more specials! For the daytime drinkers, there’s lunch specials. Who doesn’t love specials? Yes, you can smoke indoors. There’s lots of regulars here.

I wasn’t sure what the happy hour hours were so I called and the girl who answered the phone was extremely rude. I was going to ask about specials but she rushed me off the phone before I could ask. I was planning on coming today for happy hour but looks like I’m not now!

It’s not terrible, but won’t return. Newcomers beware. This is definitely a bar for«regulars.» It was my first time in tonight and it was LOUD, not only with music but with bar fights and jackass regulars that had«dibs» on chairs and equipment. Like, you’re not aloud to be around their area as if they’ve peed on it. Their tap selection sucks, and the bartender was rude. To be fair, she was dealing with some real jackasses. They have a T shaped bar here where it is literally easy to forget about a part of the bar(which I could forgive) but we had to constantly flag down someone. It was pretty dirty as the customers seemed to have no respect for the property of the place. The«doorman» at the door didn’t even check my ID. I’m 21, but I look really young on the account of my baby face. I was surprised to not be carded by either he or the bartender. I may have just come at an inopportune time, but I didn’t enjoy myself.

This place is really cool. It’s sorta my cheers spot. Everyone knows ur name. The staff even ordered me a bottle of pineapple vodka after requesting it! Thanks! James and Casca Rock! The crowd he is very mixed everyone is welcome at Henry Hudsons. They have daily drink specials. My friend and I go alot on Thursday nights it’s double flavored rum for 4.00. The Draft beer is a steal! There food is good. I like the nachos. The fajitas smell really good. Haven’t tried them yet. What can i say I love this bar.

The bar is laid back and not pretentious… however every time we have been here we have been overcharged or flat out ripped off. Case in point, I was there with a friend last wekend we order 1 drink each and closed out. Bank statement today showed two separate transactions for different amounts — neither matches my receipt. If you’re going to go here, pay in cash and pay per drink because at the end of the night you’ll be scratching your head trying to figure out if you really had that many beers.

Cheap beer, good service but smoking is allowed so be prepared to smell like smoke or just sit outside.

My first visits to Henry Hudson’s were when my wife and I stayed at the La Quinta next door while waiting for our first Houston apartment to become available. We regularly walked on over for lunch and cold beer. Henry Hudson’s has that small town vibe that makes you feel welcome and wanting to come back. It’s now one of those places where I have to stop on in when I’m in that area. Service is a big reason I like this place. The bartenders(which double as waitresses) are always friendly and quick to get you another round. Beer selection and pricing makes me a happy patron too. On a budget, you can get full 12 oz. mugs of cold Shiner beer for under 2 bucks. And if you want more taste options, they serve up a half o’ dozen other Texas craft brews for around $ 5 a pint. We just got back from there this afternoon and I got a Saint Arnold Blue Icon and my wife enjoyed a Karbach Weisse Versa Wheat. And we also ordered lunch, which wasn’t anything really to rant and rave about but it was a step above normal bar food. I got the daily special which was a steak burger with sauteed mushrooms, mash potatoes, and steamed vegetables. My wife got some kind of tacos. I didn’t pay enough attention to her dish because I was too busy eating mine but she liked it too. The pub and bathrooms are clean. It’s airy enough where the occasional smoker doesn’t bother you. Also, the place is filled with pub arcade machines, dartboards, pool tables, flat screen TVs, and bar top touch screen games. And there’s always a good country tune on the jukebox. You can tell the owner invests back in the pub, making this a fun place to drink.

Service at a side table was great. Cheap cold beer but you better be ready for a chain smokers paradise, even with the side door open.

Where did all these fancy flat screens come from? And a patio? Henry Hudson’s sure is movin’ on up. Came here twice in recent months, and glad to see that the bartenders are still friendly as ever. Place is so damn packed, but I’ve still managed to wrangle my same seat at the bar.

$ 1BEERS!!! I haven’t had that since the good ol’ days at Two Rows(Rice Village) But yeah, $ 1 beers, can’t beat that. And it keeps coming right after another! I had to tell them to stop at one point! I also got some info about Happy Hour time from 3p-7p to 3p-9p! 2 more hours of beer consumption, people! Atmosphere: keep it casual, its a pub of course. cigarette smoke filled. Food: Honey Hot wings! 5⁄5 Bring a few bucks for the juke box Definitely a bar for locals, my two friends and I walked in and everyone looked at us like, «who are these people? «ha. I just went straight to the bar, «A round of beers, please! :) Bartender made us feel at home. Staff was really friendly and the old men were too. lol. A few awkward comments but I just kept drinking to forget what I heard. I drive by this pub all the time for work but had a chance to stop by the other day. Glad I did. Now I have a place to enjoy a cold beer after work. We are coming back again for their STEAKNIGHT on Tuesday. $ 12 bucks. Oh and thanks Farrah for your review!

Favorite place in the neighborhood! No waiting for drinks… before you quite finish your drink, a new one is placed in front of you! Great place for karaōke or to watch the game or to just have a night out with friends! The staff is fun and the drinks are reasonable! I highly recommend this place for a chill night out!
