This was my first time at Freebirds. It was good but –1 star because of the flies flying around the area with the sauces and drinks. If it was just a few flies, I could forgive it. But it was about 6, which made me wonder how many of the flies have landed on my food.
I got a burrito bowl and my sister got a quesadilla. If you get the quesadilla, don’t stuff it with an excess of veggies like we did. It will become nearly impossible to eat. I also did not like the burrito bowl as much as Chipotle’s bowl. But I will admit that Freebirds has many more options than Chipotle for sauces. I guess I should have tried a burrito as this is what Freebirds is known for.
The interior is large and so is the parking lot. I can’t imagine it ever getting too busy to not find a spot.

I went in and to be honest it was not good at all, the food was sour. I had a stake freebies burrito, I ate it out of obligation because I was in a hurry and hungry with no other options. Otherwise I would have not eaten it. The guacamole was NOT good at all. The staff was nice but nice is not why I go there. I doubt I’ll be returning to buy there.

All I can say is YUM! This place is fantastic for lunch– quick service from friendly faces who appear to actually enjoy their job (which makes the experience all the more enjoyable) and awesome music. I leave here feeling energized and happy

The food is always good, but couldn’t really enjoy my meal as I thought of potential of dirty hands handling my food! The ladies restroom has a sign on the automatic soap dispenser «place hands under dispenser for 10 seconds. It’s a little slow». While I thought this was quite odd, I followed the instructions and no soap… from either dispenser! I patiently waited for both dispensers and no SOAP! I resorted to anti-​bacterial. The lingering thought of staff in and out of the restroom with just a water wash really really grossed me out…
PLEASE get some semblance of SOAP ASAP!

Really big Freebirds. Great staff. Fun location and interior. Not gonna lie. I’m a Chipotle girl, but every once in a while Freebirds really hits the spot. And this one’s a pretty good one.

Worst tasting Freebirds I’ve ever been too. Overcooked/​burnt meat. Nothing was restocked so rice and veggies looked and tasted like they were from earlier in the day. Staff was blah to the customers and acted like they wish they were somewhere else instead of here. Only reason for 2 stars is it is next door to Amy’s ice cream!

Stellar spot. The staff appears to enjoy what they do. They are conscious enough to offer quality meats (ie grass fed). And to top it off, they have Pacifico Beer, which is one of the best Mexican beers out there.
If you want to warm up you can sit outside or chill inside where it’s spacious and has a lot of attitude.
Highly recommended.

I like the atmosphere, nicely set up. They had an outdoor patio. This place is huge, and they play good music too. My burrito was awesome. First time here and the guy was very helpful. He load it up for me. I can’t move now, I have to roll on out the door like a burrito! Will be back that way again for another bite next time.

Stopped here after I dropped off my iPhone 6 Plus for a screen repair at Fix Your Phone across the street. I must say Service is quick and friendly here. I just forgot how good their burrito were here. I should have gotten the Monster size instead of the Hybird. I might have to come here more often then once a month.

Best burrito place ever. It’s like a better, Texas version of Chipotle with more tortilla and filling options and a better, cooler atmosphere. One of the guys behind the counter recognized me after I hadn’t been there for a year! I literally used to come here twice a week during college. The service is fast, friendly, and cool, and the food is delicious.
They have burritos, tacos, nachos, and other typical fast food Mexican options and they make everything in front of you as you go down the burrito bar, just like Chipotle. I always get a «hybird» (smallest size) burrito in the cayenne tortilla. I just wish they had a tofu veggie filling like Chipotle’s sofritas. I come here every time I’m in Houston though — it’s amazing!

This Freebirds has been here forever, and is easily the best Freebirds in Houston.
The staff is definitely a quirky bunch, but always very friendly and extremely efficient when it comes to moving the line. It is a busy location, and because of that the food is always fresh (isn’t sitting out for hours). Freebirds uses high quality ingredients to begin with, like Chipotle, but has way more options.
They recently re-​vamped their website, and online ordering and payment makes picking up take out super easy, especially during the lunch rush (skip the line and pick up at the register)

I’ve been to 4 different Freebirds locations around town, and thus is my first time to this one. This is BY FAR the best, friendliest, freshest location of them all. When possible I will go out of my way to come to this location!!!
Hidden secret: it’s yummy when you add the roasted garlic and lime juice! I didn’t know about it until someone suggested it!!!

I have never been disappointed by a Freebirds burrito.
What sets Freebirds apart from other burrito joints is the options they offer. I think I’ve tried all 3 tortilla types and most of the sizes (working up the guts for the monster). The ingredients are fresh and delicious, and did I mention QUESO is an option? I always get something new, and I’m always satisfied. Don’t forget to save room for Amy’s Ice Cream next door!

Great food and fast service.
This feels is like a more ‘local’ chipotle… with very similar serving style and food options.
I like the feel and ambiance of this place and appreciate the warm friendly service.
In order to accommodate the vegetarian crowd they don’t use lard for cooking their beans and veggies!!! Which is awesome!
Portions are huge and the ingredients feel fresher and cleaner than chipotle.

This is the best Houston Location that capture the true essence of the original Freebirds in College Station, TX… It’s also a great place to see Barbara Bush in her blue dress and white pearls riding in the front cart of a roller coaster… This place if fresh, fast, and the service is always great… I love how they have recently added variety to their menu offering the freedom salad (for those low carb folks) and various meats (Bacon! or Dark Meat chicken)…When I am wanting a delicious quick meal that is easy on the budget this is my place…

If I would put Freebirds and Chipotle in a death match, Freebirds would win.
This location, when it opened many moons ago, was the second Freebirds I’ve been to. The first was the College Station location.
The staff at this location is totally cool! No weird looks when I order something excessive (e.g., extra meat, extra sour cream,…) or optional (e.g., anything that involves cilantro). Plus, the music they play over the sound system is awesome; none of the crap that comes over the radio.
I usually get a salad with dark meat chicken which, by the way, has been added with just the right amount of spice. I’m still disappointed that Freebirds got rid of the vinaigrette, though. And their chips are a bit addictive, but I think that’s just my opinion.

Vegetarian Friendly! They don’t cook their vegetables or beans in lard so you can get everything you want in a veggie burrito. Also They will give you avocado and guacamole. Something that I miss is Tattoo Tuesday — where they gave you free stuff if you showed off your tattoo. Instead they now have some kid deals. It went from fun and a little edgy to family friendly which I’m sure is good for business, but it is also kind of lame.
Anyway the food is good and so are the people!

I know they’ve expanded to California, but somehow they have skipped over Las Vegas. I really miss this place. I must confess, I wasn’t a huge burrito fan before I went to this place. Most of them have too much crap that I don’t eat in them. However, here you get to pick what you want in them. The portions are huge, and a ½ bird actually fills me up. The ingredients are fresh and of high quality. This location is busy, but they are fast. The seating and parking can be an issue at times. But they definitely have the best burritos anywhere! Time to put one in Vegas!

There was a time in my life where Chiptole was my go to for a burrito bowl. Those days are long gone. The location of this Freebirds is perfect for me so I go grab a post workout meal at times here.
To me the ingredients are fresher and the taste is cleaner without loads and loads of sodium to add flavor. I love that you have a choice of white meat or dark meat chicken too. Also if I am adventourous, I like the selection of different tortillas. All in all I like Freebirds because it have more options and the food is super tasty. Oh and BBQ sauce for the win!

My last experience here was great. The staff was friendly, the music wasn’t too loud, and the burrito tasted awesome! As usual I ordered the chicken monster on wheat tortilla, then loaded it with veggies, white rice, and lots of lime! Writing this is actually making me hungry.
Good improvement, Freebirds! I’m definitely coming back to this location again.
