I’m from New Orleans so I ddnt lovee the catfish but it was good. But everything else was great. Troy, our waitress was amazing. The music is great. The portions are big. Me and my sister Cant wait to go back!

This place has found a nice spot in our breakfast rotation. Food is good and not expensive and they definitely are better than your chain break restaurants, excluding Cracker Barrel.

Decent food! This place is not the cleanest and it’s hood of course. At 1st sight I was like WTF!!! BUT the Food was GOOD!!! Service was good, nice lady and she checked on us frequently. I had the catfish&eggs, hubby had the fried pork chops& eggs. The portions were huge, the coffee was hot. I will go back. However, not often.

Wow! The food was amazing. The wait staff was friendly and service was great The menu was very interesting– they had catfish and eggs on the menu for breakfast! But I ordered the wings and eggs. And they were delicious! We also ordered a waffle which had the best flavor ever! The chicken fried chicken was another hit with great crispy hash browns Not in the best local but definitely a place we will come back to!

Great breakfast priced well. Tasty French toast, thick bacon, and very good coffee. Frank’s has put together a quality diner out of an old fast-food building. Don’t let the outside appearance deter you from experiencing the friendly service, quality food and reasonable prices.

Frank’s Grill has some of the nicest waitresses that I have ever met!(Quick example: I dropped the entire container of salt in my eggs and one of the waitresses kindly gave me a new plate of eggs for free. No judgement included.) Not only is their food delicious and cheap but they’re portions are huge! Seriously, their chicken fried chicken could feed a family of four. I’ve always lived close to this place and I can’t believe I’m just now discovering this great place. You have to try it.

I hope the food is outstanding because so far, the service sucks. We sat for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us.

Love at first sight is a real thing, when my brother brought me to Franks Grill, I honestly didn’t know what to expect because outside is nothing special and the inside is about the same as the outside. The food on the other hand is something else, it is served in very hefty portions but still very good. The staff here is extremely nice and sincere. I will definitely come back to the place with family and friends.

This was my first visit to Frank’s Grill. I was craving some breakfast and decided to give them a try. When I walked in, I was greeted with a very friendly«Good Morning». The place has a nice«home» feel to it. They have an open kitchen, where you can see the cook whipping up your food on the grill in front of you. Being that it was my first time there, I asked the host what would she recommend I try. She suggested I definitely get a biscuit with whatever I get, because they are good. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich with my egg fried hard. I also ordered a veggie omelet for my mom. That consisted of: tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms and peppers. It came with a biscuit and a hefty amount of hash browns as well. My biscuit sandwich was very good! My egg was cooked just the way I like em. It was loaded with thick slices of bacon and american cheese. The only thing I was a little displeased about my biscuit. It fell apart very easily. I ended up having to eat with a fork, instead of holding it in my hand. Next time, I will just get toast. My mom really enjoyed her omelet. It was filled with all her favorite veggies. There was no way she could finish it all. You really get your $$ worth at the place. I will definitely be back for more breakfast and maybe even lunch!

If you’re looking for a large amount of food for a great price, this might just be the place for you. This restaurant is much better than the one on Westheimer, in my opinion. Our waitress was notably sweet and accommodating from the moment we arrived. We ordered coffee while perusing the menu, and our waitress even made a fresh pot when she noticed we were running low. Every item is reasonably priced, and there is a large selection of both breakfast and lunch meals. I ordered the breakfast special that came with a sausage patty, 2 pieces of bacon(kind of chewy), 2 eggs(my over medium were perfectly prepared), a half waffle(there was a choice between that or French toast or a pancake) and crispy hash browns(or grits). From what I can tell, the food is not seasoned which is great because nothing was too salty. A little salt, pepper, and hot sauce helped make my meal even better. I’d return again for a cheap and tasty breakfast. (P.S. Ignore the awful grammar on the camera signs)

No lie this place originally looked a bit sketchy. I went there for my weekly Sunday morning breakfast with my boyfriend. It’s an older building and it does look a little small and run down. The waitress was very friendly and told us to sit where we like. I heard great things about the chicken fried steak so initially that’s what I had my mind set on but once I got there I decided to get the chicken fried chicken. It came with eggs, hash browns, and I believe a biscuit. It was huge and AMAZING. I was in heaven and I pretty much stuffed my face! My boyfriend got the breakfast taco. His taco(or burrito) was insanely large and took up most of his plate. All in all, they are super sweet and the meal was really cheap. We left very fat and happy.

Wow!!! A surprising hole in the wall joint! Our group had chicken fried steak, eggs, B&Gs, pancake, bacon, grits, omelette, and grilled biscuits. All was excellent. Don’t be scared away by the rough exterior and interior… the food is excellent. It reminds me of some great NOLA soul food joints.

Decent breakfast considering the location. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive; she ensured my cup of coffee stayed full and brought me water without being asked to. REVIEW: Frank’s Grill is a decent restaurant located in the heart of Houston’s Alief section(that has probably seen is best days 20 yrs ago). I was at first very leery about this place since the front door had been obviously shattered by a stray bullet. The décor at the foyer was typical of a «hood» spot(old sale paper flyers, applications for cheap insurance, hood party«free B411pm» leaflets, etc) when I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted by a hostess that looked like life had been real hard on her; however, she was friendly & pleasant… the radio quietly blared the latest the latest morning R&B/hip-hop mix while the TV showed the 5-day accu-weather forecast. Despite all of these elements-the place looked and smelled clean. I ordered the fried catfish and grits with scrambled eggs and toast… nothing spectacular but it was hot and it was served in a decent amount of wait time. My waitress did a good job of keeping my coffee cup filled while I waited and she was gracious throughout my meal by making sure both my coffee cup and glass of water stayed full. The highlight of my visit was the host of characters that par“took” breakfast along with me: young black pastor dining with the old white pastor strategizing on how to gain the most $$$ out of their flock; the urban couple(guy gold grilled down, chick red and green hair) both with matching war scars from the obvious project living; the senior baby mama schooling the younger baby mama on how to get by until the next series of food stamps came in… of course, I was privy to these conversations due to the loud manner in which all chose to speak. Come to Frank’s Grill if you want a good homestyle breakfast minus the pretense of a upper scale Houston b-fast spot.

This restaurant has not let me down in multiple visits. They have the best staff. All extremely friendly and cheerful and happy to accommodate you. I love Ms. Troy, and the lady who works the register. They both are hilarious, upbeat, and genuine characters. Aesthetically, the building on the outside looks uninviting. Don’t let that stop you from going in. They are open and ready to help. The inside isn’t overwhelming stunning, but it will do the job. I never had to use the bathroom, so I can’t comment on the status of it. The FOOD&DRINKS(I capitalized the wordS so you know it’s about to get real) are DELICIOUS!!! The portion are massive, if you’re looking for a snack you should still stop by but understand you’re getting a large portion of food for such an amazing price range. They have daily lunch specials to accommodate every day of the week that they are open. My only drawback would be their hours of operation. They don’t stay open as long as the other Frank’s Grills, so plan accordingly. Enjoy

Ordered eggs, hashbrown, toast, half a waffle and hot chocolate. Everything was good, hashbrown was made extra crispy, and also was able customize my order with half grits and half hashbrown. Our waitress was really nice and constantly checking on our group to see if we needed coffee. Reason for 1 less star was for the person from the kitchen who brought out our order. That person put our group on the hot plate about what sides we wanted with our meal. We tried to make a choice but before we had a chance to select a side the person said a choice for them to select. We are glad they were offering assistance, however we get together to relax, not to get put on the hot plate. It was a nice meal, attentive nice waitress, and a little abrupt kitchen assistance. It is better to go early in the morning to avoid the rush. It will give you time to linger over their menu.

THE. BEST. FOOD. EVER. My girlfriend and I went around 8am. We were hesitant to go inside because it looked so run down, but you can’t judge a book by its cover. It was hands down the best breakfast I have ever eaten. Give this place a shot! Definitely coming back!

It’s in my neighborhood and I had always passed by. Finally decide to give it a try. We ordered the country breakfast with two pork chops, waffle with eggs and sausage. The service was ok although it was quite busy for Sunday morning. Our food turned out not bad as well. I think I will come back sometimes for sure!
