Fast Eddies

So I used to be a regular there, and now it is under new management etc. REALLY READ THIS, so this asian guy is now behind the bar and HORRIBLE. He has his friends that come in and he is the only bartender and is LITTERALLY just talking to them when the bar seems to be busy. I wait for my tab for about 15 – 20 mins after my friend was waiting as well. I got mine first and it was screwed up. This lady who was next to me I assume was HR for fast eddies or something, she told the GM these guys were waiting for their tab for a while now. THIS cruddy bartender never acknowledges us because he is too busy talking to his friends, never asks us did you want another beer nothing. Even the waitresses were waiting for their drinks to bring out to the pool area. FIRE THIS DUDE. This isn’t the first time he has served us too. Same cruddy service. The bar manager Cade had to literally tell him to get us our tab. AND TO TOP THINGS OFF I GOT CHARGED DOUBLE ON MY BANK STATEMENT WHEN I CHECKED. HE WAS SO BUSY TALKING TO HIS FRIENDS HE CHARGED ME TWICE. I WILL NEVER GO BACK UNTIL THAT BARTENDER IS GONE.

Ok so first impression is not great. My drink was cheep but not right, more than three parts and he was lost gave me two of the same liquors.

So I just recently went back to fast eddies thid past Thursday, 9÷3÷2015, and there was this new bartender whom im pretty sure was also the manager; she never told us her name. Well you can tell that she was never there to help her staff always some where in the back. The waitresses where still cool, but you can tell by the new clientele that the place is getting bad.

Great atmosphere, great prices. Staff is friendly and attentive. Fireball Wednesday! Woohoo. Excellent place to watch a fight or hangout on a Saturday night.

I’ve been going here for the past 5 – 6 years or so. The place is has certainly been through some ups and downs, but overall has been a great place to shoot some pool. The food is pretty good and the price of beer/​liquor is on par with most bars/​pool halls. I come here usually with a group of 7 people who are pretty acceptable pool players and we generally have a great time. With the new managers we have seen a lot of things change for the better. The sign outside is no longer broken. The tables still need work but we have seen several tables re-​felted, which has been greatly needed. The waitress work hard and try to attend everybody, but when it gets busy it can be difficult to order a drink. The location offers pretty good deals on UFC/​Boxing events and gets pretty packed. All in all a good place to hang out with friends and have a great time!

I have never been here. Met some friends to play pool. Were greeted by a girl who explained it was 6 $ per person to get in. As I was going in my purse to get money, (there were 2 of us) she let us know it was going to be $ 12. (Thanks)…anyways, We to the bar where there were about 4 patrons sitting drinking. Two bartenders. Thought getting a drink would be a breeze. We stood waiting for service 10 long minutes while the female bartender stood and waited for drinks to come off the printer from waitresses. The male bartender didn’t acknowledge us. One of their two bar guests made a point to let us know they noticed how long we had been waiting. Finally, the female bartender went over to ask the male bartender to wait on us while she was doing nothing. He made a comment that he was busy. Busy with what? Am I missing something? She finally was forced to serve us when we yelled at her when she nearly made eye contact. Does no one want to make money here? … Later on, getting drinks was equally as painful. Unless u are going to play pool only and nothing else— Stay. Away.

Worst service I have ever experienced. Our waitress stopped by our table one time the whole 3 hours we were there. The bartender intentionally ignored us and it took over 30 minutes to get a bucket of beers. I wish I could give them half a star.

Wait… this place is in Houston right? I could have sworn that smoking was banned in businesses in Houston! Oh well… maybe this is Houston, but not really Houston so they are exempt? I did see something about a cigar bar on the window… oh well. Be warned, you have a high possibility to leave here smelling like an ash tray.
I was entertaining friends and they wanted to shoot pool. I was definitely going to try to get maximum bang for my buck, so a quick Google search gave me a listing of Houston establishments. Fast Eddies was said to have the best value for shooting pool. I definitely decided to research them further and found that they have an email club and a Facebook page that give deals. According to their Facebook page, they were offering $ 6 per person for unlimited pool during the Saturday I went. That sounds like a winner, especially considering that they don’t smoke in Houston!
First things first, don’t believe everything you read on the internet. A quick call to the establishment confirmed that they were doing $ 6 per person for unlimited pool play until 2am. Great! Just because I am who I am, I made sure to sign up for the email club as well. About 20 minutes later, I received a welcome message that gave me half off pool play and half off a menu item… SWEET!
Make it to the building and read cigar bar on the window pane… darn it! Inside, the place is very well designed and quite elegant looking for a pool hall. There are many televisions around the place and various recliners and seating options throughout the place. There is a slight smoke smell in the room, and people are occasionally puffing to get that nicotine fix, but bearable for a short term. I was carded and charged for my pool right away. Yes, you read correctly, that fat man was carded. I gave them the coupon and they did honor it, so I only paid $ 3 for my unlimited pool play. I was also told that the half off the entrée menu item was correct, so my eyes automatically saw wings. They have 20 wings for $ 14 on the menu, and they come in a variety of flavors. I opted for lemon pepper and hot with ranch. $ 7 for 20 wings is quite the great deal!
The pool tables come in 8 foot tables and a few 9 foot tables. I opted for a 9 foot table and grabbed my pool stick and got playing right away. The server, Josee, was extremely attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire time we were there. The hot wings were decent, but the lemon pepper wings were actually quite good. Coke products were strong, but they messed up with my frugal meter. They do not give free refills on sodas. I repeat, they do not give free refills on sodas. You are insane Eddie with your quick ways!
All in all, I must admit that this was a good place that has reasonable food rates and items. I am not a fan of the smoking part, but the accommodations in regards of pool are quite well maintained. Make sure you sign up for the email alerts and look at the Facebook page and get the latest deals. Can easily be a 4 or 5 star place if smoking was not allowed inside.

This place was ok… pool tables, darts, TV’s, typical pool hall. We went on a Friday from 6 – 9 and the place was pretty empty. Didn’t try the food. Service was quick at the bar but probably because they was no one else to wait on. Smoking is allowed but expected.

I’m not sure why the reviews are so low for this place. What do you expect? It’s a bar/​pool hall. I go every so often to play a few games of pool and darts and I always have a good time. There’s usually tables open to play right away, a cheap cover fee of $ 5-​$ 10 and darts are almost always open as well. Their waitresses are great and I’ve never had a problem placing an order albeit I only get drinks, but what would you expect besides bar food? They have a dj sometimes, not my favorite night to go because it’s just ridiculously loud, but the music is usually really chill. They also have comcast sports which is a plus for us because the Rockets and Astros games are shown here. I have no problems with this place, it’s exactly what you should expect from a pool hall. It’s not the greatest, but I enjoy my time here.

Absolutely awful… the manager /​bartender spends more time trying to hit on his staff than serving the guests, takes forever to get a drink and if you complain he shuts down and tells you to go elsewhere… which I did and recommend you do not waste a penny in this poorly managed /​run establishment!

Just played pool and had beer. All I know is I had a good time here. Good service, good tables and no crowd.

How you say… Dive.
This place would make a great location to shoot a movie. It’s an old fashioned pool hall.
Come here for the ambience. Dark, with the stale smell of smoke and booze. Plenty of tables. Lousy food. Interesting characters.
Definitely people watch.

I used to end up at Fast Eddies on Tuesday nights because they have $ 1 well drinks and free pool for their industry night which is pretty cool. Extra divey and really smoky inside so don’t wear anything you care about.
