I know people often write about the smell of used clothing stores, but I couldn’t breathe in this stuffy space. I would never write that about Goodwill, Buffalo Exchange, or Taxi Taxi! I am certainly not biased against recycled fashion; I love it! I’m not sure if it was the clothes or the space itself, but yuck! Then I walked in further and saw a pair of old boxer shorts hanging on a rack. I’m out of here!

Believe it or not, I liked this place. Not because it had a GREAT selection. I know that it was lacking in some ways and was kind of like the Ross of vintage stores. There were quite a bit of repeats in printed shirts, even some we had seen at Taxi Taxi earlier in the day. Good things though — No jerks in range in here. The guy behind the counter was really nice, he answered all questions and saw when we were interested in something he’d tell us how much it was. I got an ADORABLE houndstooth purse with flowers here for only $ 5 dollars and a cute scarf for $ 2 bucks. My friend got some earrings and a shirt as well. It was the only place that we both bought things, because a) it was so cheap, so why not? b) there were normal things here What do I mean by normal? I get so sick of going into these vintage shops and being bombarded by douchery. This store made me feel okay.

Worth a return trip for real… I found a few things to my liking and spent less than 50 and came up with a few classic pieces that adds to the closet. The layout was better, altho’ they seemed to have less stuff than some of the other places, but thats a plus for me. I liked the Dollar sale outside too… I know it’s a reason it’s a dollar dammit, but finding some bowties and some cool tees? It was worth the dig… 3 for now… if on my return i see better i’d up it…

I have the same complaints with Fashion Recycler as I did with Taxi Taxi. They seemed to have a lot of overflow stock from local stores or something. I saw some of the exact same tank tops that I had just seen earlier in Taxi Taxi. I appreciated the $ 1 sidewalk sale, even if I did not find anything interesting. Otherwise, I just found the store boring.

I personally think Fashion Recycler’s stuff were the best of the vintage lot. I saw this grey dress on display one weekend and I resolved to go back. Presto, it was still there, and it was my size. Perfect! I also saw these cute shoes that admittedly were more expensive than my dress, but well. For the best all-around bargain, I think Fashion Recycler is a pretty sweet vintage deal.

I’m sorry, Free People shirt for $ 12.95!!! Need I say more?! No? Well, I will, cuz that’s just the kinda gabby gal I am! This store didn’t have a whole lot to offer on the whole, but the fact that I scored a Free People shirt that I saw in SF a year ago for close to $ 100 for $ 12 friggin 95 was awwwhhhsome! I also scored a fantastic little pair of burgundy leather ballet strappy shoes that are just tooo cute for $ 30. Not the cheapest, but they already feel so broken in(and they are brand new) that is was totally worth it. The people working here were also probably the most helpful of all the employees on this little thrifty strip of commerce, so they get points for that. I would hit this place up again, because hello Free People for… yeah, you heard me :)
