We just moved from League City to near this restaurant so decided to give it a try. Wow! We are so happy we did because every item we ordered was really very good. What a relief because many of the places in this area we’ve tried really are sub par. The guacamole is going to keep me craving it and coming back. The queso was very good. The taco, tamala, cheese enchilada and beef enchilada were all typical Tex Mex which is exactly what we wanted. They were all very tasty. The tamala was not spicy which is what I wanted. Going to try the fajitas next visit since everything last time went so well. The only complaint is how very little of the rice and beans was included with each meal. Rice and beans are cheap! Fill up the plate like it ought to be :)

Local favorite. Food is simple Tex-Mex, nothing fancy, always good. Chips, salsa and Margs are great which is the hallmark of great Tex-Mex in my book. Ate solo in the bar on a Friday night. Everyone was SO friendly! Great place.

Yo I love this place. It’s a clear lake institution. You get what you expect, cheap Tex mex. no it won’t blow your mind, yes the menu is huge and annoying. But that’s the charm! The salsa and margs are great and for $ 10 you can get fed and watered with some variation of beans, rice, cheese and meat. Isn’t that what life is all about?

I eat here a few times per month for several years. They have a huge menu, very consistent food quality, and excellent service. My favorite dish is El Gallo: steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas over bacon, peppers, and onions, topped with grated cheese. It’s one of the best meals in town. Their frozen margaritas are outstanding as well.

So I’ve eaten here three times now and each time, the food seems to get worse. I loved this place because they had the delicious creamy verde sauce initially and the food was cheap. As of my third visit, the verde sauce is now that salty, watery crap with the jalapeño seeds that you can find at your local food truck. Today, all three of us ordered the dinner portion of the steak quesadillas expecting a large portion as we were very hungry. What we received was 6 small pieces of a quesadilla with very few pieces of steak inside and even less cheese. It was like cut up tortillas that had been cooked a bit. We all left hungry and not satisfied. The last time we came, I’m pretty sure they fed my husband a defrosted chile relleno covered in a thick rich melted cheese. He ate half and fed the rest to the insects outside. Sorry, El Rodeo, but you have disappointed me too many times. The service is always grumpy, uninterested, the place is too crowded and the food is just edible. I won’t be back.

Thus tex mex is the best that I have had in the Clear Lake area so far. I got cheese enchiladas on my first visit because, let’s face it, who can mess up cheese enchiladas? They were actually very good. The food came out on a hot plate, which is always a good thing! The food was hot enough I had to blow on it which is a plus on freshness! The rice was fluffy and I love that it had corn and green pepper mixed in. The refried beans were very good. I went during lunch with some work buddies; two ordered from the lunch menu and one ordered the combination nachos. The lunch portions are huge! The lunch portions come with a queso puff, tostada, an entrée, rice, and beans. The combination nachos have chicken, ground beef, cheese, lettuce, jalapeños, and other things that I couldn’t see but they looked amazing! I am definitely going to come back and try the beef enchiladas! If you are looking for good tex mex, try this place first!

My family eats here often. Great selection and great prices. This restaurant supports our schools and sponsors several kids each year! It’s a great small restaurant to give business to. Family friendly; good margaritas.

Food is eh, but it’s the local place to go. If you don’t see someone you know every time you go for dinner you haven’t lived in Clear Lake long enough. Wait staff is great, never a wait to get in. Food gets a 3, staff gets a 5.

Not real Mexican food. Being so close to Mexico there is no excuse for american Mexican food! I was looking for good carnitas or a good chile reanllo but they don’t have that on the menus no papousas. There isn’t much past fajitas tacos and enchiladas

Great place to eat if you live in the Webster area. Fajitas are good and my wife loves their combination plates. Family type restaurant that we feel comfortable at.

I wanted to like this place because it’s so close to home but the chips and salsa and queso weren’t very good. That’s all I ordered but you can usually tell if a Mexican food place is good by their salsa. I would give it another try though. The staff seemed really friendly!

So so Mexican food. The best thing on the table was the salsa which was surprisingly good. So was the guacamole and the iced tea. Other than that, mediocre ground beef filling for the taco, a sweetish tasting sauce for the chicken enchilada, and a bland one for the beef enchilada. The tortilla soup was basically canned tomatoes with yellow squash and carrots with some tortilla strips and cheese. No flavor added. The flour tortillas were chalky, dry and chewy. The service was very basic and it appeared as though our waiter was mad at someone. In short, not very good food.

Clean. Family. Affordable. Attentive. Excellent waitstaff. Not gourmet, just straight up good Mexican food with lots and lots of offerings. Will go back.

Lots to choose from. But nothing that is of high quality. Great place for a quick, cheap dinner. Especially with kids! Never a wait. And the wait staff is exceptional! But speak very little English.

I honestly looooove their quesadillas! Reminds me of Pappasitos but more affordable! The people are so attentive but the hostess doesn’t look professional and doesn’t really greet you. The food is worth it though!

We come here at least once a month because of the quality of food and the service. We always get the fajitas, which are delicious. The queso is yummy and so are the constantly refilled chips. The service is extremely fast and the servers are friendly. Definitely recommend for a local, neighborhood Tex-Mex restaurant!

The food is really good, especially the chicken fajitas(beef fajitas are a bit too chewy) and there are lots of menu options! What makes us less likely to go to this restaurant sometimes is because the staff can be snappy and not very welcoming.

We’ve been here a couple of times, the first time we went, the food was fair. It’s a great place if you just want margaritas and chips and salsa, but if you’re craving really good Mexican food this isn’t the place. They do have a menu with a lot of choices but maybe they should have fewer choices and better quality food.

Is it possible to give 0 stars? How about half a star? This is the first restaurant I’ve found where I sincerely have to question Unilocal’s assurance that it will be wonderful… and Unilocal is rarely wrong. The good — Decent salsa and great margaritas(albeit $ 9 margarita, kinda highballing El). No comment on the service, it was decent enough. The bad — Well if you count Velveeta substituted as «cheese» for most dishes, the actual cheese nearly unmeltable(we can make up words, right?), the chile relleno a gelatinous mess that leaves an equally awful taste in your mouth, and constitute a chalupa(or what I assume is what that was) as a pre-packaged taco shell topped with salad as bad… well, then I guess all those things were kind of bad. I’d like to say«At least you get a lot of food for the $ 10 a plate!»…but…it doesn’t really count when you can barely make it past the taco. Sorry, y’all. Not too sure what everyone sees is this place, just not feeling it.

The chile relleno is made with a bell pepper. Read into that what you will. None of the food is poorly cooked. It’s just depressingly bland. Peek around the restaurant to see their demographic and you might understand why. The staff is all very attentive and warm. I assume they know they’re running a restaurant that serves the Tex Mex equivalent of a bologna sandwich on wonder bread with the crusts cut off. 3 stars because the overall experience is pleasant. Just boring. Not the place for me. Maybe for your elderly aunt. From Topeka.
