I love this place! 8 $ for a dozen oysters and 10 $ for a dozen shrimp – uh yeah!!. We ate our fair share for sure. And the micheladas with beer, worcestershire, tabasco, valentina, lime and salt are to die for! I can’t wait to come back!

Just wanted people to know this place is terrible. 6 out of 12 raw Oysters were very small. The crab fingers were tasteless and fried in bad grease. The place was dirty and run down. Enjoy. Somewhere else. Run. Don’t stop.

Great for micheladas or pit stop for a beer with a friend. Not kid friendly. Most times it’s too packed to find a seat.

Best place for seafood! Great prices! I loved the stuffed crab, the oysters are the freshest I’ve very had and I recently moved back here from wa state! Friendly servers and very close between Baytown and houston! If you haven’t been, I suggest you eat there ASSOONASPOSSIBLE!

Oysters on the half shell are awesome. The boiled shrimp are huge. My daughter gave 2 thumbs up for the gumbo! We will be back.

Stopped here from out of town. We had Michelada Cup of gumbo Stuffed jalapeños Fried oysters Fried catfish Stuffed crab. The michelada was okay. The cup of gumbo was very flavorful highly recommend. Stuff jalapeños were good. The fried oysters well I’ve never really had oysters but they weren’t bad!!! Our fried catfish was yummy! It had a really clean taste! I didn’t know how to eat my stuffed crab! I ended up breaking it in half and eating the inside which was really good. By the way you have to be a very patient person to come here. You have to seat your self which they kindly helped me find a seat! Very different experience but I really liked it. Overall food was good but not the best. I think I’m used to a more saltier breading.

This place is just second to none for micheladas. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had other delicious and satisfying micheladas but at some places you just never know what to expect and it seems like they always taste different depending on who makes them. Not here! You are guaranteed a great michelada no matter what. I have never had a bad time here, definitely a good place to satisfy your craving for seafood and have a cold beer. It’s very very casual so do not come here expecting to be sat or waited on. You order from the counter which is right in the middle of the boat shaped interior. There can be wait time if you go during the weekends or during the lunch hour rush. It’s a very popular place! The wait time is never too bad though, because people come to eat, drink a beer or two, then leave. It’s kind of an unspoken rule/understanding that you don’t sit around and take up time if you see a wait line at the door.

My favorite place to… 1) Stuff my face with seafood 2) Have a michelada Food always taste super fresh! The michelada mix is to die for. It can be stressing upon arrival because of the way their place is set up but I don’t care because the food is worth it to me. Weekends is always busy so beware of the crowds. Service wise, I can say that although it gets crazy, the staff has always taken care of me. This is a MUSTGO spot in Houston.

Captain Tom’s is the best Mexican seafood restaurant chain in Houston! When it comes to drink you would be hard pressed to find better Mitchlada around, you cant just stop at one I dare you to try. Although the ambience may seem chaotic there is a method to the madness. This place is not for the week at heart. You will not find hostess to seat you so be prepared to hunt for your spot like predators to prey. But once you have found your spot you are in for a treat. I have tried just about everything on the menu and have not found anything I have not loved. The longer you wait to check this place out the longer you’re miss out!

Best place for super cold beers. They go down like water because they chill them on ICE. Micheladas are a local favorite. Great place to bring out of town guests to. Great prices but keep in mind it is a bar that serves great food albeit a simple menu. You cannot go wrong with the gumbo. Menu consists of Oysters, fried fish, shrimp, gumbo, fries and even frog legs. Always packed but worth the wait. If you are regular its like you are family! Waitstaff are jokesters/pranksters/funny and always in a great mood! Really that makes the difference. Dont forget to tip your waiter!!! Audel hands down is my favorite, great service.

So I’ve been here twice now and they have consistently been excellent. Seafood is fresh and so so good. The micheladas are the best I’ve had, and the oysters are the size of an adult palm. I cannot recommend the gumbo and stuffed crab enough. I only wish I had more than one stomach when eating here It’s almost always super crowded, but it’s definitely worth it. I will be back!

So we went here, and ordered a lot! Between four people, we got a oysters, fried frog legs, gumbo and catfish. Everything taste really fresh and good. The gumbo was nice and hot and tasty. The oysters were fresh but all different sizes. I never had frog legs before, so it was my first time and it was pretty good. the legs taste like muscle meat but it was good and clean tasting. Normally I don’t like catfish but they did a good job cleaning the fish and covering up the mud taste. Service was pretty good. Would be back for sure!

I have had this place bookmarked for a long time, but I had no idea what to expect. I knew it was seafood, but beyond that it was a mystery to me. When we pulled into the lot I noticed the restaurant is shaped like a giant boat. Nice touch. I believe every pickup truck in Houston was parked in the parking lot too. Once inside you notice you have two seating choices. Counter and Counter. The first counter is the bar around the serving area. The second counter area is about three feet outside of this one around the windows of the restaurant. There are no tables. First I ordered some raw oysters. They were freshly shucked, and due to the small size I was given about 15 of them. They were fresh and tasty. Next I had a cup of gumbo which was full of those little tiny shrimp, but it had a really good taste to it. Lastly I had the fried shrimp plate. The shrimp are breaded in a cornmeal batter, and the fry on them was great. The shrimp were big, and the six of them definitely made a meal. They were not greasy at all. This plate came with French fries. The feel of this place at lunch was definitely blue collar. I think I was the only person not drinking a Michelada. I definitely will get one next time I go back.

If I could describe Captain Tom’s in two words: organized chaos lol. Seriously, stay away if you want a calm place to eat. You may have to wait a little to seat yourself and mediocre service is actually great service here because the staff is so busy. Great selection of seafood. Definitely consider trying the gumbo and stuffed crab. Oh and their micheladas, bomb.

I went there with 2 friends for lunch on a Monday. The parking lot and the restaurant was not crowded at that time. I was surprised because I didn’t expect a bar setting in a boat. I also didn’t expect to order food as if I was in a bar but I got used to it. The staff was friendly and I didn’t have problems making my orders. We had 1 plate of shrimp, gumbo, 1 platter of seafood, and oysters. I don’t have anything special to report on the platter. The gumbo was very light and delicious. The main star was the oysters. A dozen for 6.95 $! This is the reason that I will come back!

We love the 1960 location and this location delivers the same excellent quality of food with better parking, nicer landscaping and more seating on a less inclined«boat». The differences between this place and the 1960 location are all for the better. The dozen raw oysters on a half shell for $ 6.95(every day, all day) can’t be beat. The BEST seafood gumbo I’ve tried — which defies all«purists» say what gumbo should be. Their seafood platter can’t be beat at quality and price — they know how to use a deep fryer. Their French fries, hush puppies, and the stuffed crab keep me coming back. And of course, a review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning their micheladas. It’s a must have for sure.

If you are looking for a quiet sit down meal, this place is not for you. I feel like I’m on a boat which is awesome. This was the first place where I tried a michelada which is surprisingly good, considering I’m not even a beer dude. What I always order are the gumbo and the fried shrimp. The fries are UNDERRATED. It rivals that of many fast food places, even better than some. Only drawback I would say is the seating. It’s usually a hit or miss and if you get there during peak hours, prepare to stand awhile.
