I got coffee and birthday cake gelato. The birthday cake one did not represent gelato, too many ice crystals. Coffee one good.

Hard to find! FYI it is in the galleria by Nordstrom on the top floor. It gives you a street address which leads you to the street outside the mall. Maybe people from Houston get it, but for out-of-Towners who tried three different map apps and wandered at least a half hour, this was confusing! We tried the gelato which made my stomach hurt I usually have this reaction to poor quality dairy. My husband had the dairy free sorbet and he said it was mediocre at best. For us this place wasn’t worth the effort.

I’m so sad to give this place a 1 star rating and it has nothing to do with their quality of service but more so their quality of food. This is the second time in 3 weeks that I have ordered something off their food menu and come home with food poisoning. First, it was their spinach-something crepes, yesterday I had a Sicliano panini and side salad, and now I’m home missing work because of some sort of stomach virus. I really loved this place since I work in the mall it was healthy and convenient but I can’t handle getting food poisoning every time.

Delicious gelato. Tons of options from fruity sorbettos to decadent Carmela and Nutella. Friendly service that lets you sample all the options! Not cheap but huge portion for about 6 dollars.

The single best place I have been to in Houston. Never ever disappoints. I have tried the caprese panini and multiple flavors of gelato. The gelato is amaaaaazing! Planning on trying the crepes and sandwiches on return visits. The staff is very friendly and polite. Clean and lively. If they opened a free standing restaurant you can bet I would be there immediately!

Like in a small village diner, you cannot rely on this place for getting food during the shopping season. They close their kitchen at 4pm. «Those who come here regularly on Sunday, know that». — that’s what they told me in response to my question why would not they turn off the light on the menu and the sign«hot panini».(That was at 6pm, when they were still«open».) At a shopping mall?! Not coming back.

I like the place from day one it opened. It looks airy, unpretentious, and best of all it makes everything on the premises, fresh, natural ingredients, of course. On the way to the Fox theater or down to the lake, we stop by for a delicious waffle filled with smooth, refreshing ice-cream. My favorite it will always be the pistachio, the small crunch and the perfect creaminess, with not too much sweetness makes you think it’s actually healthy. If we happen to line up, the taste seems even more delicious.

This review is for the gelato! This place is in the mall, and they have crepes, sandwiches, and gelato. They didn’t have any fruit gelato favors though, to my dismay. I took a long time decide, and there’s on helping me asked whether I wanted to try any favors. I tried the blueberry cheesecake and got that. It wasn’t too sweet and it was actually really creamy, but the flavors could definitely have been stronger. Also, I think the gelato might have had too much milk? Gelato isn’t supposed to be so rich; maybe that was also due to the cheesecake. There are a few chairs and tables to sit at, but it’s not the roomiest and not the best ambiance. The gelato’s pretty expensive at $ 4.50 post-tax, so I wouldn’t be coming here every day(if I lived here). Worth a try though! I think this place deserves 3.5 stars: good quality gelato, lack of fruit gelato flavors — they did have fruit sorbet but gelato and sorbet are different -, high price low portion, not great ambiance, average staff.

Café Dolce Gelato is an oasis in the dessert of mall pizza chains and fast food places. They offer fresh organic garden salads, paninis, savory and sweet crepes, and gelatos. We like the whole farm to table concept, added on with some good dessert offerings. Their bright, colorful, chalkboard-like menu have attracted our eyes every single time we walked by. Today, we were finally able to try out some items on their lunch menu. We got the Parma Panini(proscuitto) and the Philly Panini(roast beef, American cheese, onions). The Panini bread was solid, toasted, and tasteful, but the proscuitto was salty. The Philly was also cut in half, with one piece layered with two slices of lean roast beef and maybe(at most) three slices of lean roast beef in the other, but the American cheese really dominated the sandwich. The roast beef disappeared under the cheese. For 8.99, I think that they could have added a couple more slices of roast beef, although it was pretty good. We also tried a medium cup of their strawberry, strawberry lemonade, and chocolate gelatos. We liked the chocolate the best, followed by the strawberry lemonade. However we still prefer the Gelato at Costco, which is better bang for your buck. This place overall has great service, a reasonably deep menu, and solid food — but we think it is overpriced. But if you want a good alternative to the typical mall food, this is your best bet.

Best gelato in Houston, hands down! I had no idea there was a difference in gelato before I experienced theirs, and trust me the quality ingredients & creation process matters, this place has it down. Thank you Café Dolce for existing!

Good gelato, not excellent or five star worthy. Appreciated the interesting sections though. I tried the toasted almond and caramel cookie butter. Caramel cookie butter was my preferred choice of the two. Nice that the have a gelato option in the mall.

Just walked into this place from out of town with a party of 5. My other companions ordered gelato while my husband and I waited for them at a table. The younger Hispanic male serving them then proceeded to tell us that we couldn’t sit there even though there was no one in the store at all other than us. Granted he could have been oblivious to the fact that we were all together but even after that point he still argued with me even after knowing this. I explained to him that if there were other customers there of course we would make sure they sat down. The manner in which it was said was unnecessary. If that’s how paying customers are treated I can do without this place. Spend your money elsewhere.

I stopped in for some gelato on a whim one day and I was very impressed. They had many flavors to choose from and a larger than expected food menu. I ordered the mascarpone lemon cookie and the coconut together. Both were exceptional. The small size was more than enough for me but I could see myself getting the medium if I was super hungry. The only disappointment was the fact that they were out of nearly every flavor but about three or four. I realize it was a Sunday at the end of the day and they probably don’t replace flavors an hour from closing. However, it would have been nice to try some other flavors. I will be back for sure.

Stopped by to get an espresso drink, and they said they were out of coffee. If they advertise that they sell coffee, than it’s a pretty significant deficit to not have any coffee available to sell. Would not go back.

Straight 5 stars for my favorite gelato place. I always get the shake with nutella and double chocolate gelato. Its amazing how they blend together create the perfect smooth shake that tastes like heaven!!! In my last visit, I tried the mango gelato and yup, it dint disappoint me either. I was going to get my usual but they dint have milk that day so I just went with good old gelato on a small cup :) Do try the shake!

I come here for my cravings for a quick lunch from working at Nordstrom(right next door) on Saturdays. The girls that work there are always friendly and generous and honest about what’s really good on the menu. There’s a limited amount of seatings as it’s a tiny place in a corner. It’s my favorite spot!

It’s crazy that there is such great food in this little corner next to nordstrom’s. I spend a lot of time in this corner of the galleria because out of all of the department stores, Nordstrom holds my heart and my wallet. I only even dared to try e-tao because of Unilocal and now we stop in at least 1 out of 3 trips to nordstrom to eat. And on this particular occasion we had eaten lunch before shopping but we were craving some dessert. My feet were tired from shopping and we were looking for chairs to rest when we saw this dessert place, when I remembered seeing really good reviews on Unilocal awhile back. I actually even tried driving to it, not realizing it is actually INSIDE the galleria. Well on this day I am glad we finally got a chance to try it. I got a large which allows for 4 flavors. I don’t remember all of them, but I do remember the ones that stuck out, which was the coconut! This thing was so damn delicious. The flavor is very intense and resembled coconut. The girl scooping my cup was very generous. It was over flowing! I was stuffed by the time I was done.

Do you like gelato? Sorbet? Got dairy issues? No problem! Come check out these nice folks and sample some of their non dairy mango sorbet. OMG so good. It might be a little pricey, but you’ll taste the freshness and specialness. I will be sure to get a cappuccino next time, since all my fellow Unilocalers rave about it; it must be #Yelptastic. My new obsession is the Stracciatella gelato as Wiki says it’s milk-based ice cream infused with fine chocolate flakes that was originally created in Bergamo in northern Italy in 1962. IMHO, it’s like vanilla gelato with chocolate magic shell crunchy pieces scattered throughout, but fancier. And you deserve fancy stuff. Try it! Thank me laters.
