Decided to try this place out and I was not disappointed! I ordered the #1 with bacon & cheese and when it was ready, I dressed it myself with leaf lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, pico de gallo, & pickles. Got a side of mayo to add to burger and ketchup for my fries. The entire plate was delicious! I will be coming here when I’m a craving a big juicy burger!

I decided to try this place, while on a lunch date with my cousin. I walked in and saw the huge burgers and crunchy looking fries, and was excited to try them. To my surprised, everything about this place was average to me. The burger was average, actually bland. The fries were okay, nothing different or worth bragging about. It was dead when we met, thinking about 6 or less customers there. The guy who took and cooked our order, didn’t really greet us. Infact, he never came around to see how were doing, nor asked us if we liked it. We got to fix our own burger up with the trimmings, and to be honest they didn’t look fresh. To me this place is a knock off Fuddruckers. I won’t return, not because it’s bad, but because it’s just average and isn’t worth the extra drive for me. I expected more from this place, just based on the site. Have you heared that saying: Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, well that definitely applies here!

Sunday noon and we are all hungry for a good juicy burger. So where to go? «How about Burger Tex?». I suggested. «Is it good?» My wife asked a bit apprehensively. «Yeah, I used to go to the one on highway six when I worked nearby. It was really good as you get to load your own lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles, etc. and the fries are good too.» So we head over to Burger Tex, parking lot seemed empty but we go inside, no wait of course. They offer a 4,6 or 8 ounce burger as a single or a combo includes fries and a drink. They also offer teriyaki plates, a chicken burger, onion rings and sweet potato fries. We opted for the 6 oz combos with cheese(they only offer American or Swiss cheese). I chose American. The buns were fantastic, large and flavorful, the meat was cooked perfectly juicy and tasty. Lettuce pieces were laid out in an iced container, tomatoes, pickle, jalapeño were fresh and plentiful — very professional. They have the standard condiments including hot sauces. The fries were cooked with a slight crunch and very tasty. My wife and daughter suggested that the four ounce burger combo would have sufficed. I agreed, you certainly get your monies worth here in quality and quantity. Three people for under $ 27. A very good deal.

Clean, friendly place. I was greeted when I walked in. The homemade buns are really delicious and frankly my favorite part! I appreciate hard working small business owners so I will continue to come here to support this family owned business.

Great consumer service, good burgers, and great prices. Being clumsy. I accidentally knocked my burger on the ground while putting condiments onto it. The manager saw me do this and with out me saying anything, offered me a free burger. Thank you sir for your kind actions. If this doesn’t show how great of customer service is, I don’t know what is. I will come back to this place in the future.

I’ve been a regular here for years. This is a no frills kind of place. Simple concise menu. I generally order a number 2 with cheese. This will set you back less than $ 10 including a drink. The burgers and fries are cooked fresh. You can see the person manning the grill as you order. French fries are frozen but go straight from the fryer to your plate. The buns are made fresh daily, then brushed with butter and grilled before being topped with your choice of cheese. Fountain Coke products and freshly brewed tea or Peek brand are available. You will get a number when you order. When they call it you pick it up then step to a salad bar area and top your burger with your favorite fixings. This is not somewhere to go for a romantic dinner. But, it is consistently good.

Homemade delicious burger buns! If you’re ordering ToGO and want cheese sauce for your fries don’t forget to ask for it(the cheese is cold, you’ll need to heat it up when you get home) I haven’t ate here during the lunch rush only picked up ToGO after getting off of work. You can see the new batch of buns in process of coming to life in the oven. Burgers are ok & so is the bulgogi.(No Kim chi served with your bulgogi burger) Best frozen crinkle cut fries!(Not over/under fried)

Great place for burgers. I love how can put as much or little on condiments and vegetables. Love the fries with cheese.

I don’t always eat burgers, but when I do I have Burger Tex. Lucy is always friendly and courteous. She greets you with a big smile.

Went to burger tex to eat there for dinner, when we got there the restaurant was like any other burger joint with a condiment bar in the middle like Fuddruckers. The price on the burgers were alright(5 – 8 $) depending on what you get on it. Now the burgers were good and all but my only gripe was that the French fries tasted like the frozen fries from any grocery store. No salt and no flavoring, just plain. Other than that they were quick to serve, would definitely eat here every once in a while but not my first choice.

Decent burger joint. The burger buns are not sticky or dry. Meat is good, cant complain about the burger itself because I put it together. Very simple menu. Reminds me of fuddruckers except the burgers aren’t $ 15. I’d go back.

The burger was OK, ordered the 6oz combo with fries and & drink…$ 8 something with tax. They have a build it yourself type of setup with all the burger fixings you want including some watered down cheese if you want cheese fries. The place looked pretty clean when we got there. Order at the counter, they call your number and you pick it up. It’s an alright spot; can’t say I’ll put it in the lunch rotation but definitely not above going back. The fries were good cooked just right but I could have used a few more… All in all, it’s a decent spot to get a hamburger but you won’t be blown away or no shiz like that!

Long time fan of burger Tex, which is a Korean-Americana hybrid destined for greatness? Shame on me for not reviewing this place sooner, since I only went to school and hang out with one of the sons that owns one of the franchises. But dont take it as bias since the discount checks hasnt been arriving. Straight to the point, bul-go-gi burger is the the royal flush in the burger kingdom. Dont shake your head and pout. A ham-burger has no Ham, and this pork rib burger beats the hell out of beef. So Pork ribs, no bone, no getting dirty and marinated in a glaze of flagrant showboat sauce. I dont always eat burgers, but when I do…

I used to love going to the Burger Tex at I-10 and Highway 6 before it was torn down for the I-10 expansion back in 2007 or so. With that place in my memory as well as several Austin locations under my built. I think this place has done a good job of taking up the old mantle. Unlike the old divey spot in a dying strip mall, this is in a brand-new shopping center near the Bally’s Fitness. I always get the 8oz Burger Meal with Cheese. This comes with a drink and fries. The Onion Rings are an extra $.75 and totally not worth it. They are just the standard frozen kind. The set-up is Fuddruckers-style where you make up the burger how you like it. They have all the usual culprits as well as Nacho Cheese. The seating area is quite small, but there is a larger outdoor seating area with metal tables and umbrellas. I have never had an issue with the location being dirty, and I find the staff friendly enough.

It’s a shame this place bears the same name as the Burger Tex in Austin and other great locations in Houston. I’ve been to the Burger Tex that is further up the road on Barker Cypress and this location doesn’t even compare. I went to this location because it was closer to my house but I would have rather gone the extra 15 minutes to go to the other location. First of all, we show up a little before 7:45pm on a Saturday. The place was dead as there was only one other patron in the restaurant. It was a full 45 minutes before the place was set to close at 8:30pm and the lady at the cashier told us we had to order to go because they were closing soon. That was the first bad taste in my mouth. The second was the food. The menu is maybe ¼th the menu of other Burger Tex locations and doesn’t even have the famous bulgogi burger, Burger Tex’s claim to fame. I ended up ordering a mushroom swiss burger to go even though we could have easily eaten and finished well before their closing time. When I get the burger, I was severely disappointed. I kid you not, there may have been 7 tiny mushrooms total on top of my burger. And they were the thinnest sliced mushrooms I had ever seen. The condiments bar was the saddest assortment of vegetables ever. I didn’t even add any of it to my burger and I live for condiments. The lettuce looked wilted and none of the produce were fresh. Probably the only decent thing I ate was the fries. The burger was a little salty for my tastes and nothing like the burgers I’ve had at other Burger Tex restaurants. Overall the food was very poor and so was the customer service. I don’t appreciate being told I have to take my food to go when there is 45 minutes left til closing and I’m the type of person who would gladly take my food to go if I showed up 5 minutes before closing time. Poor customer service is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I’m not so entitled to think that I deserve red-carpet treatment everywhere I go, but a simple«thank you» goes a long way. We were barely acknowledged when we arrived and not so much given a second glimpse as we left. I would say an establishment like this doesn’t deserve to stay open but judging from the absence of customers and rude service, it doesn’t look like this establishment will survive much longer.

I didn’t get to try it… I walked in and after taking a look at the cleanliness decided against trying it out. The place was filthy. The floors we disgusting with food and grime all over. The station where it looked like they assembled the burgers was all dusty behind the glass and had food? splattered on it. Not to mention while I was standing there examining everything the 2 people working there were all looking at stuff on their phones and never once even addressed me. Too bad because it is so close to my home.

This place has damn good burgers. Growing up in Katy(8 + years ago), my family and I would always go to this place but when it was located off of Hwy6 in that tiny hole in the wall shopping center and it always had a HUGE crowd for lunch. It was like some secret dive for amazing burgers. Obviously living in Texas, there is no shortage of beef or good tasty burgers but my dad became quite fixated on these«build it yourself’ burgers. The beef is excellent, the chicken is delicious, the toppings are fresh and the BUNS are homemade and just perfect. All the necessary ingredients for an excellent burger! Needless to say, my father was super bummed when he one day discovered that his precious divey burger place had disappeared. Needless to say, we rediscovered this place just recently and they are better than ever! The service is also great and the prices aren’t bad either. Definitely recommended!

This place just opened up on January 16, 2011. Never been at this chain before but saw it had good reviews. I had the 6 oz mushroom and cheese burger. It was really good! The fries were seasoned with a bit of old bay. I wouldn’t say its the best burger I’ve ever had but I’d come again! Definitely would be a regular burger spot for me! The service is good and the restaurant is clean! Prices are good too my combo was about $ 8.
