This place serves up some interesting Indian-American fusion with very reasonable prices, but is maybe a little too heavy-handed with the sauces. The 10 spice chicken wings were served swimming in sauce. The sauce was good – acidic, quite spicy, and a little sweet, with many layers of flavor. The chicken was covered with a pretty thick breading that was still somewhat crispy after being submerged in sauce. However, it seemed like the chicken was just a vehicle for the thick, potent sauce. This is some heavy stuff: I ate 4 wings(plus some fries) for lunch, and I still was full by dinnertime. The animal-style fries are a twist on the In-n-Out fries with the same name. The fries themselves weren’t so great, a little soggy, but the sauce was good – sweet, sour, and creamy like In-n-Out special sauce, but enhanced with spices. However, the sauce to fries ratio was too high(a rarity when it comes to loaded fries), and the intense flavors and fattiness of the sauce became too overwhelming after a while. Counter service is very efficient and reasonably friendly.

One of the most underrated places in Houston. Best Chaat/Bun Kabob. And the burgers are on a different level. Huge and very creative. Owner has a passion for food and truly experiments with new things and is always encouraging customers to try the new items on the menu.

Where do I begin? This place is a gem in Houston. It is hard to get better than this place. After frequenting here so often the owner and staff have became my family. Anything you can think of, ask the owner and he will whip it up for you. P. S.- Try the Donut burger

We ordered dahi puri and bhel puri… was really disappointed. It was way too spicy for someone who actually loves average spicy food. Dahi puri was not crispy, it was soft and made it impossible to pick it up with hands. For $ 4, there were 6 puris, if only they hadn’t put that much chilli powder on top, it would’ve been okay despite the crispy puri. Bhel puri was gross… no form of liquid like sweet sauce so we had to request sweet yogurt on it. For 5 $, bhel puri was not worth it. Just had warm chickpeas, few chunks of potatoes, some crunchy stuff(bhel), and red super spicy inedible sauce. We couldn’t eat it, so we had to request if they can add sweet yogurt on top. Which made it okay to eat. Would not order it again. If I go there next time, I will try their bun kabab that most people rave about instead.

I have been going there for the past 2 + years for the Chaat mainly. Unfortunately, the last two times over the course of 6 – 8 months, it hasn’t quiet worked for me I noticed a lack of quality and interest in the papri chaat. More specifically I noticed that they no longer bother to actually chop the cilantro, so you get the whole entire big leaves and not as much spread evenly. They no longer put the dahi-bara(yogurt-soaked fritters) in the papri chaat, so the flavor and text is gone. They no longer even have sliced chilli peppers in the papri chaat. Or the blend of spices on the top. Now, for $ 5.50 You just get some chick peas, a few leaves of cilantro, little bit green chutney or tamarind chutney sauce in watery liquidly stuff. No yogurt, no dahi-bara and no mix of spices. Not enough chopped cilantro or sliced chillis. The last time I went there, owner took my order as he was on the cash register. Then proceeded to make my chaat, using HISFINGERS(no gloves, no nothing) to touch the papri and putting in my chaat. I felt truly disgusted at this violation of food and safety. When I came back and told him, he just went back and put new papri but NOSORRY, no NOTHING! NO remorse. I really wish the service and attention to detail and love of the art of making a perfect papri chaat was there.

If you like a very spicy mix of american and pakistani, this is the place for you. The burger was spicy and tasted a bite like a Biryani burger, the samosa was very good(they only had potato). The guy behind the counter was nice and explained what was what when we asked about what was on the burger and the like. It was certainly interesting and I love spicy hot so that was a plus. Give it a try if you are looking for something tasty, spicy and different.

If you ever want a taste of Pakistans street food, i highly, totally and a 100% recommend Bismillah Café. The papri chaat, the bun kabab, the paani puri, the meethi puri… Where do I stop? After reading a few reviews here, I am now going to try everything on their menu over the next few months. My absolute favorite thing here is to sip on the paani from the paani puri! It brings back some good memories of Pakistan :) Great food, great service! Thank you Bismillah for being here.

These dudes get a lot of love in the press. So I came for the full«blogger» experience. 10 spice chicken wings? The sandwich version? I actually went with their«burger» option. The owner hooked me up with some white death… I mean mayo garlic fries. Luckily he didn’t tell me what they were when he offered them. The burger was made of minced beef, garlic, cilantro?, and other herbs and spices. Topped typically with a «zesty» sauce, emphasis on Zest. The«animal» style french fries were covered in some magical tasting sauce… All in all, a very spicy lunch. It was cold as death in the spot though. The heat from the food made up for some of it, but if you’re bringing your sweetie, grab the pre-cologne’d jacket you keep in the trunk. The other interesting thing on this particular visit was the smooth brougham that rolled up in his 599 Ferrari. Even international jet-setters need samosas.

THEYHAVETOTS! YES, THEYGOTSTOTS! Their Hunter beef sandwich had been on my mind for weeks now so for lunch last week I indulged, and was NOT disappointed. Its more of a sub than a Sammy, and the hoagie they toast up to serve it on is delish! Essentially its a spicy shredded brisket sub with spicy sauces and crisp lettuce and onions. Next time I’m not getting the sauce cuz it raised the heat level too high, the meat is spicy as it is. The surprise of the afternoon was that he offered me a dessert that looked intriguing and I forgot to ask me its name. But its simply a savory paratha folded over with sweet cream cheese folded inside, and dusted with cinnamon powder. But when I tell u the contrast of flavors explodes all your palate, its like a nuclear reaction. I must admit the creamcheese was a bit too sweet, perhaps a lighter version may sit better with my overly enthusiastic tastebuds?
