The note posted on the door says they are getting ready to retire and that this location is closed permanently as of 12÷30÷15. I would expect the other locations to close as leases expire.

Best pork tamales on this side of town. You could tell the ingredients were fresh. Food came out super fast. Very reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Would recommend.

I came to this resteraunt for a quick lunch, glad I did, but if I came in for dinner, I know it would have left disappointed. This resteraunt is the definition of inconsistent. The décor is nice, but give the appearance that you should wait to be seated and it is not clear that you order at the counter in the back. The chips and drinks were a bit hidden too. Chips were OK and nice that they are self serve, the salsa was bland. Lunch had flavor, tamales were good, but very small. If I knew how small they were or I was here for dinner, would need to order 6 to be satisfied. Retried berms and rice, were good and substituted for the flavorless salsa.

Walk up and order at counter, food delivered to table. Self serve chips and salsas. They make a decent red salsa and jalapeño ranch sauce. Decent Food, but chefs not always consistent. Their grilled chicken sandwich, and burgers are very good. Shrimp Diablo appetizer is one of my favorites when prepared right. Great $ 2 happy hour appetizers and decent margaritas. Berry Hill is my favorite local place to hang at. Live music on Friday, makes for a fun atmosphere. Outdoor seating/smoking area next to bar. Bartenders are friendly. Affordable food.

I’d driven by Berryhill so many times over the years that when the opportunity arose to stop by and have lunch here, I figured that I’d finally give them a try. Okay, I gave them a try. Average food for what I thought was more than the average price. Taco was kind of on the tasteless side(and I had shrimp). Thank goodness Cholula Sauce was available — the only thing that gave it any kind of flavor at all. You: –Go to the counter, place your order. One taco with a side of very dry rice and creamy refried beans along with a drink came to $ 10.50 something with tax. –Do not receive a receipt(which is why I can’t give you the precise amount I paid for my lunch). –Get your own drink with the empty glass provided. –Get your own chips from under the heat lamp. Eat about 2 of them and realize that they need to be trashed immediately. Horrible! –Ladle out your own salsa. –Grab your own utensils. –Sit at a table with your number placeholder and… Your server: –Will bring your food to you. For this much money, I’ll keep driving past Berryhill and find someplace else to eat.

I really don’t enjoy writing bad reviews but, this place needs to be closed down. Customer service is bad. Food is horrible. It comes out cold in the middle. Fish in my fish tacos was not even completely cooked. We tried 3 times. All times epic fail this year. The place was great a couple of years ago. We didn’t complain. Paid for our food. Took one bite and left. Not EVER going back! It’s sad because this place was so AWESOME! Not the berry hill we know and love. «DOWNHILL» My husband asked the cashier what changed and the guy said we independently owned now! Hmmmmm???

Weds night, this bartender sucks. She is so busy flirting whatever, she can’t even take our food order, takes away our beer bottles without bring or asking if we want another one!!! I want my old bartender Andrew back gags

Basing this solely on the tamales that were excessively bland. One of them tasted like a dirty towel, no joke. Don’t question how I know what that tastes like. The«tamale sauce» tasted like Valentina mixed with something so it wasn’t anything special and was too runny. Haven’t had anything else but that left a bad taste in my mouth, literally.

WOW! This place was packed to the gills on a Friday night around 6:45. Didn’t know until we arrived that the original fish tacos are on special for $ 1.99 on Friday nights(limit 3 and with any beverage purchase). Fine by me, that’s what I love here anyhow!!! We had an enjoyable dinner, everything was tasty and well prepared, as we have come to expect from this Berryhill. We also really like the spicy pickled carrots and the avocado ranch like dip that they offer on the bar area. It is self serve and you can go back for as many trips as you like. Also the baskets of chips are waiting here as well, so no need to flag down the waiter for any refills of dips, chips or drinks. A great plus when dining with a little one. The noise level was high just with the crowd chatting away, and there was a plugged in acoustic guitarist in the bar are adding to the chaos, but it was all a fun vibe and a great family friendly way to unwind on Friday evening. At the end of the day its a decent tasting, decent quality meal for three for only $ 29, in a fun atmosphere on Friday night. Can’t beat it!

Chips are cooked in burnt oil. Salsa was extremely weak and unfavorable. You only get two tortillas with fajitas then you pay for two more. Beer is cold that was the only good thing about our dinner. Tres Leche tasted of only lemon. I will not be coming back.

Im not sure why there are so many bad reviews, we come here all the time and always have good counter service and prompt food delivery. I admit I only ever get a few different things on the menu, fish tacos on mondays and fridays, black beans, roasted corn and breakfast tacos. I like them all very much. Margaritas are always good and the cilantro ranch at the chip bar would make an old flip flop taste delicious. If you like spicy make sure you try the pineapple habanero sauce found at the back of the condiment bar.

I have loved Berryhill in the past but my last visit was a deal breaker. I wont be back… Ill go to Torchys or Fuzzys from now on. The tamales were cold(even after sending them back) and tasteless. The fish taco(my usual pick) was horrible.

We used to frequent Berryhill in the Galleria and were really excited when we saw one on this side of town years ago. Obviously things have REALLY changed since the last time we visited this restaurant. Every single darn item we ordered was HORRENDOUS!!! For example, the beef tamales have a small amount of hamburger meat(not shredded beef) that clearly has no seasoning. Not what we saw before. The Mexican rice was way overcooked and also had no seasoning whatsoever. We would be able to provide additional examples, but there’s no point. We will never return. To every Unilocal member, please consider this review seriously. Don’t go.

I use to frequent here — I went last night for the first time in over 6 months, and WITNESSED A GUYVOMITONTHEBAR!!! The bartender should have FORCED him out at the first gagging reflex noise — or should’ve known he was that drunk ANDNOT have served him a shot of whiskey. I used to enjoy this place alot — now, I’m grossed out.

Simply put this is my neighborhood spot. What’s better than fish tacos with a Dos Equis or a margarita when I’m with the ladyfriend? Nothin… In fact I’m already counting down to Friday

Worst experience EVER! Terrible customer service & order came out wrong twice with long waiting period. The salsa bar was even empty with a request for refill 30 min prior & ice dispenser empty. I will never go back to thus location.

The food: Somewhat average The fish tacos were okay. The restaurant itself: The staff are somewhat nice. The noise level was too high. My friend and I had to keep asking each other to repeat ourselves. Overall this place is «A-OK» with nothing really sticking out. Not a bad place to grab a quick lunch with a friend.
