Angelo’s Pizza

I love, love love the food here, especially the pizza. It’s my go to pizza place.
I have never had an issue here until this past Friday. Took a couple friends with me and while the food was great, the service was poor. In all fairness the waiter did have a large table in addition to ours, but our table really suffered. Refills were non existent, dirty dishes from out appetizer and bread left on the table and after we finished our meal. Sat there a long time before he came back around for anything. Of course I’ll be back but am concerned about this.

I am from New York, so I was raised on the best pizza pies. Angelo’s is my favorite pizza in Houston.
I usually pick up, but last night I ordered delivery and it came in about 20 minutes. Obviously, you (and they) never know how busy it is going to be on any particular night. I would rather wait for Angelo’s than have Domino’s immediately.

Well… I didn’t look at the Unilocal reviews until now. Like before writing this review to be specific. I will never waste money on this low quality ingredient serving place again. I should’ve know that 2 ’14 large, one topping pizza’s for 14.99 meant it wasn’t a good place to spend money. Only ordered from here twice and that was one time too many. This place shouldn’t be three stars, let alone open for business. Any rating above one/​two is a fake. With the same amount it costs to buy food from here, you could’ve spent it at a better place and would’ve been satisfied much more. Regrettable waste of money and food, it hurts to throw it in the trash. :-/
P. S. Everything on their menu is either frozen or fresh out of a CAN goodness. Down to the desserts!

I ordered for the second time. Delivery was early. Sweet!
While I do appreciate fast food I don’t like there being a mosquito in the middle of my sandwich. Im glad I checked it.

Had a rough day and needed some pizza ASAP. While this pizza didn’t come ASAP (took about 45 min), it was delicious and hit the spot. I ordered the spinach chicken alfredo pizza and loved it. Just moved to this area and I’m glad I found a nice local pizza joint.

So we have been ordering from Angelo’s for over a year now and the food is excellent. We have stopped ordering pizza from any where else. I found them on the Beyond Menu ap and have been fairly pleased with them. However, the only reason why i wont give them 5 stars is due to delivery. Most of the time they are quick and my food is piping hot. Since we startes ordering they have been slow three seperate times. I dont mean just a little either. Tonight we ordered from them like normal and after a hour and a half and them not showing we called to check on the order. They were very polite and very sorry in the delay. It kimda sounded like they thought it was a pick up order or that someone forgot about thw order but thats purely speculation. They finally got our meal to is 1 hour and 55 minutes later. Im very big on customer service and 97% of the time they are spot on however if this keeps up we may have to find a new favorite pizza place. Though it will be tough to find compaired to them.

I’ve been ordering delivery from this place for over 10 years, at 3 different addresses. While there have been issues with their delivery a time or two, I would say their delivery times are reasonably consistent. What’s great about this restaurant is their food, especially their pizzas! They have a great selection of choices (pizzas, burgers, pastas, etc…), so everyone in my family can get something they want, even if they don’t feel like pizza. But if they do get pizza, it’s always great. They have so many different types of pizzas and they all taste great. When it comes to pizza, Angelo’s really knows what they’re doing.
Yeah, you might get a bad experience with the delivery, but you’ll always get great food!

I really love this pizza, they have a rally cool selection of flavors to choose from. I prefer them over any other delivery pizza

Love it! Ordered many times & the pizza is always fantastic. The Angelo’s Best pizza is delish! Delivery time is decent. Not sure about the other reviews but I have ordered at least 20 times in 5 years & avg delivery is always about an hour.

I wish they would just change their estimated delivery time to two hours. I also wish I would have read Unilocal first before I ordered. Nothing worse than thinking your food is about to arrive only to have to wait an hour longer than expected! The delivery guy was nice enough and actually did apologize for the wait, but he followed it with saying that my location was out of their delivery area and that’s why it took so long. That doesn’t make much sense because a) Eat Street allowed me to order from them, and they only let you order through their website if your delivery address is within that restaurant’s set delivery area and b) their website says that they deliver up to 5 miles, and according to google maps, my deliver location was 4.8 miles from their restaurant. The sandwich I ordered was okay, but not worth the wait. If you’re going to order delivery, expect at least a two hour wait.

Delivery was ridiculously slow.
Ordered online with eat24 on a Monday evening and estimated time for one gyro and three drinks was 45 min-​1hr. I called after 1hr 10 min and they said the food was coming soon. I called again after an hour and half and they said it would be another 10 min. Finally at an hour 50 min the delivery guy calls and says he’s 7 minutes away. Food finally arrived after 2 hours and 10 minutes!!! They gave me the wrong drink but at least the gyro was warm. Definitely not worth the wait. They semi-​apologized for the delay but only with the excuse that they were busy and didn’t offer any compensation. Don’t bother getting delivery from here. Can’t speak for pick up or dine-​in.

My fiancé and I used to order from Angelo’s all the time, but have recently decided to take a break. The menu has a really varied selection, which is nice when we each want something different, and the food has always been very good. My fiancé can’t get enough of their fried mushrooms and my hands-​down favorite is the gyro.
The reason for the two star rating, as well as our sebbatical, is the service. We used to always phone in our delivery orders, but there seemed to be a communication barrier with the person answering the phones. One night, she tried to charge us $ 55 for two cheeseburger combos. I am still unclear about how she arrived at that amount, but we went through the order very carefully and she finally quoted me a more reasonable price. After that we decided it might streamline the ordering process if we ordered online. It did make placing our order much easier, but it seemed to affect the delivery times, which went from 30 – 45 minutes when ordering by phone to an hour or longer online. The last few times, when we were ready to give up and called to cancel our order, they told us the driver was already on his way and should be there any minute. We were never offered any explanation for the delay and since the order had been paid for, we waited. The final straw was when we called to check our order status and they told us they never received it and suggested that we not use that particular online ordering site anymore. We had ordered through their restaurant’s website, so we decided to take their advice and not order from them anymore… at least for awhile.

Just had tried this place for the first time. I ordered the chicken pesto pizza. The pizza tastes really great and fresh. Thank you!

When asked why the food took 2 hours the delivery driver responded, «I don’t really have control over that.» He requested we pay full price, and he didn’t apologize on behalf of the business. Even if you don’t have «any control» over it, act like you give a fuck. I am in a large facility where pizza is ordered every day. Was it worth it?
The pizza itself was unimaginative and bland. Wasn’t the worst I’ve had, but the combination of mediocre pizza, mouthy service, poor time management coaxed me into no longer patronizing this establishment.

Tried this for the first time tonight and we were impressed! The Mediterranean pizza was delicious — I’ll definitely be ordering it again. YUM

Got a cheese pizza to go and it was excellent (and not greasy) and the manager was nice enough to tell me about the carryout special so that I saved a few bucks. Haven’t tried anything else, but will come back for pizza again.

Great pizza. I have tried a couple of other things on the menu that aren’t that good, but the pizza is fantastic. It definitely does not taste like large chain Hut and Papa crap. It’s not NY style, which I like, because it has a thicker crust. I wish I still lived in Meyerland!

I’ve seen some bad reviews on here but to me this pizza is amazing and worth it. I got the bbq pizza and it is perfect when you get off a long day. It is a heavy pizza but it fills you up with the taste of the meat sauce, onions, and cheese mixed together nicely with a fluffy crispy crust makes it worth every bite I will definitely order from them again. Especially sense it came pretty fast and the guy looked like he cared about his job unlike some other places around here.

One of the only places in Houston that serves a whole wheat pizza. And it’s really inexpensive too! Only takeout and delivery. It’s a hole-​in-​the-​wall joint that borderlines violating health codes. But hey, we have proteases and the pizza tastes like it was made with love by real people. haha
