Apparently we were the last to realize that good old southern«Dixie» Café does not even cook real bacon! Their bacon comes ‘precooked and crumbled’, & when it’s thrown on the grill it becomes tough and dry. Imagine that on your bacon burger! They are really giving southern cooking a bad name :-(

Went for lunch today base on trip advisor review I wish I had checked here instead. Not very good. When the rolls were the best thing they had it’s sad. Pot roast dry and fern beans tasted weird according to my husband He is not a picky eater nod will eat almost anything. I had fried pork chop. They only has a case knife for me to cut with which was futile. It is not boneless and it was like rubber. The mashed potatoes were edible though. The waitress was new but friendly. I don’t think this is the best southern style restaurant and would not recommend it

Worst meatloaf we’ve ever had. Tasted like they dumped a can of tomato sauce on it. And the meat wasn’t good either.(I’ve had good food at this Dixie Café location before)

Thanksgiving lunch was great. Turkey and dressing we’re both at the right temperature. Service was average. Blackberry cobbler was very good. One note of caution. after a delicious meal like this when you going to push your plate back, and unbuckle your belt, they will ask you to leave! Haha compared both Dixie and Cracker Barrel today. You couldn’t go wrong with either one.

I am stuffed! Great portions! Rolls are great, staff is awesome and up beat we had Gary who is a trainee and was wonderful. I would recommend this place. I almost didn’t give it a chance because of some reviews, but glad I did! Had 6 people at my table and no complaints chicken was juicy fried corn was great. The only thing I would say is for steaks order medium rare for medium. Come stop by I’m glad I did!

It’s a shame Dixie has gone downhill, as I love their menu items. I used to love their Chicken Fried Chicken, Fried Pickles, and I’ve always loved their rolls. However, Dixie has really gone down the tube. The quality of food has gone down, and the restaurant isn’t clean at all. I wish someone would take it over and return it to its former glory, as I really miss eating there, as their menu items are my kind of food.

Chicken fried chicken and fried corn on the cob! That is crack! The ice tea is good too! The gravy sucks.

Good desserts but nothing else. They had no idea how to cook my steak and all the food was bland.

What a disappointing place! I was here 5 years ago and remember it to have good food. Today the fried catfish was WAYTOOSALTY; the red beans and rice tasted like the chef accidentally poured a whole container-full of pepper; the chicken and dumplings were too spicy!!! The sweet potato casserole tasted like a whole container of sugar was poured in. On the plus side, the baked potato was good; the fried corn on a cob was good too. I’ve never tasted more horrible unedible food!!!

The food here is fair. I’ve been there twice now… and wouldn’t really recommend this place. The NY steak was alright — nothing special though. And the shepherds pie was not all that good. The squash was okay the first time… but I didn’t care for it the second time. Pinto Beans were okay. The banana pudding was okay. Cornbread was fair. Not really planning on going back.

Chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, and shepherds pie made by burying 2 slabs of meat loaf with mashed potatoes shredded cheese and brown gravey. This place was clean, and served very generous portions. If your a Yankee in Hot Springs, this place will hot the spot.

Pretty generic place that has a couple of good things going for it. The sides are quite tasty. The chicken fried chicken was beautifully done with a light, crisp breading, and stayed moist and tender inside. Pot roast was unremarkable. The staff was very friendly, and attentive.
