I was so looking forward to the Seafood Café based in other Unilocalers’ reviews, which made my visit more disappointing, I think. The food was good but not great, service was ok– certainly not stellar, atmosphere meh. I ordered the bisque– which, while tasty with an abundance of seafood seemed to be extra thick and gloopy to somehow prove something. The entrée of the seafood trio with marinara sauce was overwhelmed by the abundance of sweet, ketchup flavored red sauce– a mistake which detracted from the fresh seafood. My husband got the oyster appetizer– good but not great, and the broiled seafood combo– again– good, not great. It was difficult to get the wait staff when we needed water or condiments, despite being done of the only people in the restaurant at a later hour. So, while a solid restaurant, I won’t be rushing back.

I really wanted to love it based on the reviews on how close it is to us so that we could make it a regular place to eat, but unfortunately we had a very mixed experience… I made a reservation for 5:45 Saturday night through Unilocal for my family(myself, my husband, and our 2 kids who are almost 5 and almost 2). Despite getting 2 text message reminders from Unilocal, they didn’t have any record of our reservation when we got there. Fortunately the place was mostly empty so it wasn’t an issue. They had a kids menu and crayons, which was great. My kids ordered the fish fingers with french fries and the quesadilla with sweet potato fries. The children’s menu clearly stated that each kids meal came with a side and a scoop of ice cream. The fish«fingers» were fried strips of fish and looked great, and both kids really liked them. Unfortunately the little one didn’t care for the quesadillas although she loved the sweet potato fries, but luckily there was plenty of the fish fingers for the 2 of them to share. My husband and I both got the seafood bisque to start and it was very good with lots of pieces of seafood in it. However, one of the reviews I read stated that the cup of soup was huge, which it wasn’t, it was exactly the size you would expect a cup of soup to be, which was just the right amount. The only negative was that the pieces of seafood in the bisque was a little over cooked, but we both ate every bite and enjoyed it. My husband ordered the pasta pescatore for his main course and I ordered the broiled seafood combo. My husband loved his dish and raved about how good it was, but I was incredibly disappointed in my dish. Everything on my dish was overcooked, but the flounder was so overdone that it was completely dry and inedible. On top of being overcooked, dry, and inedible, the bite I took of the flounder was completely unseasoned. It honestly tasted like it had been left to sit under the heat lamps for a very long time. On top of that, when the waitress came back I told her I was done and that she could take the plate away, she asked if I wanted a box and I told her no. She never once asked if anything was wrong and honestly I was busy dealing with my 2 young children and it wasn’t worth making a big deal out of. Since the kids menu said that their meals come with a scoop of ice cream, when the other waitress came to the table to remove some of the dishes, I asked her to bring the ice cream for the kids. She told me they don’t have regular flavors like chocolate or vanilla, but had butterscotch swirl or butter almond. We decided to try the butterscotch swirl with them, but I thought it was weird that they include a scoop of ice cream with the kids meals and don’t have something more kid oriented as an option. They brought out 2 bowls with 3 scoops of ice cream each, which I wasn’t happy about since it was supposed to be 1 scoop each and I have very small children. With my husbands help they did manage to finish it all, but we got the check which charged us for the ice cream! When my husband mentioned it to the woman at the desk, she told him that the kids meals don’t come with ice cream and when he told her it said it did on the kids menu she argued with him but said she would remove it from the check anyway. I personally find it offensive to be called a liar when she could have easily picked up the children’s menu, read it to confirm, and not been so rude. It’s bad enough the staff doesn’t know their own menu, but to basically call a customer a liar is pretty outrageous. Anyway, I might give them another chance and get the pasta pescatore, but overall the whole experience was a huge letdown.

A good seafood place. The portions are great. Their platters can easily feed 2 people. Most recommended items are fried with a good batter. A great family atmosphere. I cannot see it being a regular place to eat but a good place if you are in the mood for seafood.

Great seafood. Welcoming atmosphere. Good prices. The Seafood Café is becoming a family favorite. We were looking for a place for a birthday dinner for 4 generations. The bisque soup was rich and good, real comfort food. The broiled seafood combo and the lobster tail were both fresh tasting and generous portions. We had a delicious mac and cheese that was an extra treat and of course everyone loved the fried crab balls.

When you arrive at the restaurant your first thoughts of the exterior is very unimpressive. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. The interior is very nice and the service is great! Food portions were incredible! I had ordered the fish tacos expecting to get small portions, but instead I got 3 large fillets/tacos; one taco was almost the size of their fish n chips dish. The seafood bisque had actually large chunks of crabs, scallops and other goodies in it; very tasty. And the crab balls are a definite must! Price is good as well.

I have been asked many times why I no longer do the restaurant reviews. My answer is always the same. Wifie and I have our favorites that I have written about previously. Until tonight. I checked out Unilocal for a suggestion of a seafood restaurant in the area. Located in Horsham near Horsham and Norristown Rds. in a strip shopping center is the«Seafood Café» that had received very good reviews. Owned by Tom O’neill of O’neill Caterers they have been open for approximately 1 year. Reservations are suggested as it is not a very big place and they just started to open on Saturday nights from only 4−9pm. But let me tell you that the place is quaint, the servers more than accommodating, and the food«to die for». We both had the broiled seafood combination of stuffed flounder, shrimp, and scallops. All entrees come with a vegetable medley or baked potato. The portion was very generous, delicious, and only $ 14.95. In fact they had a stuffed lobster tail special that was available for only $ 17.95. Mary Ann started with the seafood bisque soup that she forced me to sample. lol. YUM!!! I opted for a fresh tossed salad with the raspberry vinaigrette. They immediately bring fresh italian bread and butter. I really have nothing negative to say except for one minor thing. I ordered mussels in marinara sauce only to find out that they weren’t available. On a Saturday night that shouldn’t happen. And a suggestion that the servers tell you what the evenings specials are. If you want to enjoy a really good meal, and are anywhere near that area, you will not be disappointed. Keep in mind they are a BYOB establishment.

I love this place. the seafood is good. tastes fresh and prices are reasonable. I usually get the broiled seafood combo with crab stuffed flounder. shrimp and scallops. We’ve also had the crab balls. soo good, clams and lightly breaded calamari rings. Bring a bottle or two of wine and enjoy this little gem of a place.

Even if truly good seafood restaurants were located on every corner of every community everywhere, this place would stand above all others. Small venue, great ambience hidden away in the corner spot of a small shopping center at the intersection of Horsham and Norristown Roads, in Horsham, Pa. The Lobster Bisque is exceptional, with large chunks of lobster in a flavor-able bisque soup. And their cup is a bowl — at least a crock — don’t let that fool you. Full range of appetizers(broiled bacon wrapped scallops — awesome) and a menu consisting of incredibly fresh seafood — fried, broiled or pan-fried — perfectly cooked pasta and a land menu that doesn’t disappoint. Nor do the desserts. And all topped off with a complimentary glass of wine and really great service. Can only offer my highest recommendation for this place.

My fiancé and I went here for the first time tonight and had a great experience. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. We had the crab balls, bacon wrapped scallops and crab mac and cheese(my fav!) Everything was so tasty, and we love that its BYOB :) You can’t tell what it looks inside like from the outside but its a cute/comfortable/clean restaurant and we will definitely return many more times!

After seeing a write up about it in the SpreeBeez magazine and reading such positive reviews on here, and the fact that my BF Marty knows the owner Tom, we decided to go to The Seafood Café tonight for the first time. I am so glad that we did! We were greeted like we were family by Theresa when we walked through the door. Theresa was our server and I can’t say enough good things about her. She was one of THE best servers I’ve had ANYWHERE. I loved the décor and ambiance of The Seafood Café also. Now, the food– we wanted the seafood bisque but unfortunately they were out of it because of its popularity. I was bummed because I LOVE seafood bisque but we received mcomplimentary salads in its stead. Scallops wrapped in bacon was a special of the night so we had those and also some little neck steamers. Both excellent! I ordered the fish tacos with fries– the portion was HUGE. And the cucumber wasabi sauce– epically great! Marty ordered the fried seafood platter and enjoyed it immensely. I tried a crab ball and it was very crabby and very good. What a great date night! Thank you Seafood Café! I already have already recommended you to my friends. We will be back soon! Shelly & Marty

I had seen the sign for the Seafood Café several times while driving around the area for work and for pleasure. My husband and I decided to try it for lunch today. That didn’t happen because they didn’t open until 3:00pm even though their website said they opened at 11:30am. We decided to give it a try for dinner and we were definitely glad we did. The dining area is small but nicely decorated. You can hear the other diners conversations but it’s not too noisy that you can’t hear your dinner companions. The staff was very friendly and very efficient. Colleen was our waitress and she did an excellent job. My husband drinks a lot of water and he never had to ask Colleen for a refill. Empty plates were cleared away quickly. The bread was delicious as was my complimentary glass of Chardonnay. I had the Scottish Salmon drizzled with teriyaki sauce(minus the panko breading), sauteed baby spinach and a side of sweet potato fries. The salmon was moist and the teriyaki sauce gave it just enough flavor without being overpowering. The sauteed baby spinach could have been seasoned more but it was still good. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and had a good flavor. I didn’t even use the dipping sauce that came with it. My husband had the fried seafood combination and was pleasantly surprised at the size of his portion. All of the seafood was crisp and golden brown and were accompanied by a side of cole slaw(homemade I think), french fries, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. We were full from dinner so we didn’t have any dessert. We asked Colleen about the disconnect with the restaurant hours on the door vs. the website. She explained that they changed the hours until business picks up and because the catering cooking is done in the same kitchen. The Seafood Café is a welcome addition to the Horsham area and we hope they are in business for years to come!

I ordered some dinner take-out from here after my co-worker said that the crab balls were really good. There was a bit of miscommunication on the phone and when I arrived there were two dinners ready for me instead of one. Well, they were VERY nice and offered to reduce the bill to one meal but since it’s a new place and they were so nice I said«It’s cool I’ll take both.» Well, no regrets. I had the stuffed shrimp and the shrimp/scallop Fra Diavlo. I shared with my Dad and both dishes were excellent. The fries were cooked perfectly and had sea salt on them… nice touch. The platter was HUGE. Plus, for the PRICE you CANNOT beat this place within 20 miles of this area. One more thing, they had no problem with a special request and actually got excited to honor it. Thanks again! Give them a chance. Very good and you cannot beat the prices. The only minor complaint I could have, as other reviewers have suggested, there could be just a tiny bit more seasoning in the crab.

It’s great to finally see an affordable and tasty seafood restaurant in the area. The staff is great; efficient and polite. I had the shrimp scampi and was surprised to see some negative reviews about it as mine was one of the best I have had in a while. I noticed the picture on Unilocal was different from how my dish looked so perhaps they changed the way they are cooking it, and if they did I promise you it is amazing! The shrimp was not bland at all and others in my party seemed to love their meals as well. The atmosphere was great and I will definitely be going back.

Nice little neighborhood restaurant. Husband couldn’t stop raving about the scallops in his pasta dish. I would agree with a previous poster that the scampi was a little bland. Also the shrimp was a little overcooked and tough. Crab balls were delicious. They had the TV on which was a little irritating, but we were one of two tables in the whole place and the other table had the remote, so they must have asked for it before we got there. Prices were unbelievable and service was wonderful — for that, and for the convenient location, we will definitely be back.

The Stuffed Mushroom & Clams Casino were out of this world. My wife loved the Crab cakes. I recommend the Seafood bisque. The salads were large and very good. Broiled seafood was packed with Seafood. We didn’t know it was a BYO so we really enjoyed the complementary glass of wine. The prices were very reasonable! The owner has a successional Catering business and just started the Sea Food Café. Its open Monday-Friday till 8−9pm. Try It

Perfectly acceptable for a quick, casual, fresh dinner. Shrimp scampi was ok, a bit bland(both the shrimp and the pasta). Broiled seafood combo was well prepared and flavorful. Prices are extremely reasonable($ 10.95 for scampi). We enjoy supporting local businesses and will come back for a casual meal and see what else they have to offer. Forgot to add, complementary glass of wine is a nice touch!

Take out tonight. Seafood pescatore and broiled seafood platter. Owner Tom and hostess Theresa were both very nice. She gave us a sample of the bisque while we waited and it was outstanding. Reasonably pricing, generous portions. Good to support a family business, we will be back!

Pasta Pescatore, This dish has Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, Scallops and Crab over spaghetti with a White Wine Butter Sauce or Marinara. There was so much seafood, I needed a doggie bag. The Restaurant is small and intimate with warm colors. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was in for lunch, my food came out quickly and so, so fresh. A must try… you’ll get hooked…
