My husband and I stayed here a few years ago for a weekend getaway. Booking and communication in general were easy with the owners. Their inn is in tiny little Horicon, WI. There is not much around to do in the area, so feel free to stay in your room and enjoy the free use of the community DVDs. Our room had a little balcony which was shared with another room. The room had a Jacuzzi tub and 9 shower heads in the shower! The best part, though, was breakfast! I remember having stuffed french toast one morning and it was perfection. Those folks know what they’re doing! Great experience. I would go back if I still lived near the area.

We made a Unilocal account just so we could say how great this place is. We wanted a close getaway from Madison and found the Honeybee to be a most welcoming and beautiful place. The room we stayed in had a fireplace, super comfy king-sized bed and a jacuzzi tub. They had free coffee and tea, microwaveable popcorn and a large movie collection right outside in the hallway for our use. The breakfast was top-notch(pecan filled french toast, hash browns, sausage and baked apples) and accommodating to dietary restrictions. Barb and Fred certainly struck a balance between being helpful and giving you privacy, which was really nice. We would highly recommend going any time of year, even when the Horicon Marsh is in its quiet winter time– we got the good fortune of seeing the house in all it’s decorated holiday glory and really appreciated fires keeping us cozy. So, in short, go to the Honeybee. It is truly a rejuvenating place.

We stayed here with my husband for only one night but we really wished we could have stay longer as it is a beautiful place and the owners were so nice. The room was perfect, bed super comfortable, very clean and peaceful. The breakfast was perfection.

We just came back from a weekend getaway to Horicon Marsh and stayed at the Honeybee Inn Bed & Breakfast. We had a great experience and would recommend it highly. Barb and Fred are warm and welcoming. The house is beautiful and lovingly restored. The rooms are comfortable. The décor is tasteful. And the breakfast… oh the breakfast. Barb is a spectacular and we enjoyed 2 of the best breakfasts we’ve had. Day 2 was the BEST Belgian Waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Delicious. Horicon is 2.5 hours from downtown Chicago and a little quiet gem on the south end of the largest fresh water cattail marsh in North America. We hiked, canoed and took a boat tour. We saw much wildlife including a nesting pair and juvenile Bald Eagles.
