It’s good– but almost $ 17.00 for a Bacon Cheeseburger, Regular fries and a Large drink!!! A little ridiculous you think. I might come back if I get a raise at work…

I know that every single Five Guys gives you extra fries. But I love how this one made us feel like it was a perk just for us. They could stand to smile a bit more but the fast service made up for it.

Don’t really have hardly any bad experiences at five guys. This visit was no exception. Food turned out great, just as I ordered and service was super fast! Gotta love the extra fries they add in the bag !

I have eaten at Five Guys 65 times because the burgers are good, fresh and are reasonably inexpensive for whatever inexpensive means these days. I have eaten at all 3 in Birmingham, 1 in Lufkin, TX and 1 in Houston. Okay, you do not go 65 times if you do not like the food, but is has never lived up to its promise. The fries are always at least a little soggy and grease-laden. Never are they great which they could be since they are cut fresh in the stores. Cooks do not seem to cook at the proper temperature and do not properly drain once they do. They should consider pre-blanching the fries. Fries are nevertheless sometimes fairly good. In contrast, Johnny Rocket’s fries are consistently crisp, properly fried and drained, but they are not fresh. If we could get the two together, we would have awesome fries. Now let’s get to the burgers. The meat is fresh and not frozen. It is a high fat blend, and, is really good even when thoroughly cooked. The large assortment of toppings is great. The burgers again are never drained and the buns end up coming apart from the grease. I think they need bigger buns anyway. Again, drain the meat. If that were done, these burgers would be so good. Smashburger does this. They have a much better burger and also Smashburger fries are always excellent.(No, we do not yet have one in Birmingham, but it is in the works.) The concept at these upscale burger places is great and you can really get a great burger for not much more than precooked fast food restaurants. I just wish Five Guys would pay attention to what I have mentioned and it would be absolutely awesome. I have to recommend Five Guys because we do not live in a perfect world. Incidentally, all locations prepare the food the same. I have found no discernable differences. I prefer the Lee Branch location simply because it is closer to where I live and run around, seems cleaner and is maybe a little more consistent with the fries. I also prefer the staff at Lee Branch more than the others.
