Great little spot in Hood River. Huge selection of beers and lots of rotating drafts as well as the usual suspects. Massive outdoor area which is great on a sunny day… A favourite spot for a post hike beer in Hood River. Limited food menu but we once had amazing chicken tenders and tots here– unfortunately I think it was only passing special. Really friendly service here all the times we’ve been– definitely worth dropping in while in hood river, instead of the big brewpub usuals…

We walked out before we were even fully seated… the service was THATTERRIBLE. The guy behind the bar(we entered through the bar but planned to sit in the restaurant portion which was totally empty on a Saturday night at 7:00pm) nodded and grunted toward two sticky menus when we inquired about seeing the menu. I grabbed a stack of menus from a different location and we made our way to the other end of the facility. The female server could not have been less interested in our party of 9. She had no input and no eye contact when asked basic questions from our group and we walked out of the building. Clearly not interested in our business — so we took it somewhere else! Disappointing.

Service was horrendous-slow and rude. The Stella draft tasted awful and when we brought it up to the bartender she ignored us and told us the beer was fine. Would not come here again, there are many other options in Hood River where the customer is treated right.

Have given the place 2 tries and have walked away both times with that«Meh» feeling. The first time the owner was sitting at the bar with the bartender and neither of them was friendly at all, almost as if they would rather the group of 6 of us would leave instead of eat there. The food was«OK» however our waitress who actually served us was super friendly but the owner and bartender were the pits, total negative downers. 2nd time it was just a bartender and he was a bit of a downer, not friendly but not rude by any means. The food was mediocre at best. The place just does not seem to like or want your business and the atmosphere just seems to suck the life out of you. The outside seating is good when the sun is shining, it is dark and dreary inside. Will I go back? Nope.

Sorry… but only good thing I can say is the outdoor seating is great. The gal working behind the bar doesn’t seem to like her job very well… and just looked at us like ‘ya, whaddya want’ — The guy behind the bar was a bit more fast moving and looked like he cared about our business a bit more, he saved the service part of the experience… BUT… The food was horrendous :(I got the blue cheese burger… it was so dry, it hurt my gums to eat …couldn’t even tell it was blue cheese(really, flaverless blue cheese? really?) 2 others in our party ordered the British inspired dishes… and they both thought they were really bad. go for the Beer and Drinks and outdoor seating… SKIPTHEFOOD!

My first impression was, this place is too big for counter service. They have a large outdoor seating area and two spaces inside that look cozy and offer lots of options. Aaand, I was right. The server/bartender/cooks both looked pretty tired and put out. One look at the menu and we decided to just sit at the bar for a drink instead.(they have a ranch crêpe) Three other groups were served ahead of us, maybe because they were in line and we were at the bar, maybe because the server hated us on sight. A group of three women came in and sat at the bar while we were there and had the same problem, they ended up walking out. Maybe the bar needs a sign like, get in line to be served at the bar, wtf? The liquor selection is mighty grim, they had vodka but only two, one stoli, one flavored(yazi) I ordered a ginger lemonade and the lemonade tasted like it was diet and that fake sugar flavor ruined the whole drink. Not only that but the lemonade and iced tea were sitting on the bar in giant, uncovered pitchers along with several cans of soda. Their gun was either broken or they dont have one but with the doors open all day all I could think of was bees and flies all over in the beverages. All in all, this place seems poorly managed. The menu is the pits, the ladies behind the counter were mega bitchy and bad at their job, its kind of a shame because the place is adorable and the beer election looks pretty amazing.

Come for the beer but skip the food. For assembly line fare its fine I guess but overpriced and took forever to prepare. We had crepes the best of which were the nutella and ham and cheese. The Thai crêpe was crap. Burger was fine. Too sweet peanut sauce and over peppered crap chicken from a bag. The hostess was very friendly and sweet– kudos to her. Follow up: got sick. 45min later. Avoid the food here! Condiments in food prep area sitting out with the lids open(peanut butter, etc!) Disgusting.

Quaint place, old gas station turned bar with some food. Drinks per Hood River are better priced than most any where in town. Wine, hard liquor, and lots of beer to choose from. The big outdoor seating is great in the late afternoon for people watching as it is in the shade. Closer to a rating of 4 than 3 for being comfortable place to relax.

My favorite spot in Hood River! I love crepes and I love beer! I was here two times in two day’s. Both times we were here it was mid-day, so I can’t speak of the nightlife scene or the bathroom lines. The first day I ordered the chicken pesto crêpe and an IPA(x2). I ate the whole f-ing thing, but did not need to eat for the rest of the day. The next day, I had to try a dessert crêpe before I left town. My friend and I split the Nutella crêpe, which was good. I think the savory was better. The price was decent and the service amazing. I pracitcally came back the second day to see our friend we just met, who’s name I don’t know, she was great, she works here.

This place is comfortable, cozy and cute. Love the outside, and the lived-in inside. It’s got the typical broken in pub area. And the outdoor seating is great for summers in the gorge. I’ve been here a few times. They offer a selection of crepes(only in the daytime as far as I am aware) and standard pub fare. I’ve sampled both the crepes and the pub items… and the crêpe and the chicken strips I had were both excellent. And for those of you wanting beer, they have a nice selection in the fridges behind the bar :) I would definitely go back when I’m in Hood River.

We stopped in for a quick lunch. Friendly staff. I had the chicken salad w/raspberry vinaigrette, my mom had the french fries w/gravy(aka Poutine) and a crêpe w/cinnamon and sugar. My salad was delicious. The chicken was tender, the lettuce fresh and the vinaigrette was tasty. From my sampling of my mother’s meal and from her report, the crêpe and Poutine were lacking. We come from the home of the best Poutines, Quebec. The crêpe was mushy, the Poutine had bad gravy and they used grated Parmesan cheese! So wrong! So apart from these two items on the menu, I would probably stick to bar food and adult beverages at this place.

Wandering through the Gorge this weekend, on the way to Washington’s wine country, we were hungry a mere hour or so into the drive. So we exited at Hood River to see what was afoot in the way of lunch, and parked on the main drag in front of the Passport Pub and Café, with the idea of walking the street til we found an establishment that suited us. However, glancing at the menu at the Passport proved all the decision making power we needed, and we sidled in and sat at a table in the window overlooking the street. All signs seem to indicate this was a rockin’ place at night, with the usual selection of potables on hand, as well as a wide variety of absinthe, which will make anyone crazy. During the day — local drinkers, bar food, and fresh, made to order crepes, of both the sweet and savory varieties. Mrs. BDB went with a ham and cheese crêpe, which was truly excellent. She ventured into the specialty drink menu for her beverage and came up with a «Gingertini», vodka, ginger, and San Pellegrino Lemonade, which was bracing and refreshing at the same time. It may be her new favorite drink. I went with a cheeseburger, more out of habit than desire, but did score a side of poutine, which we shared. Poutine, truly the national dish of Canada — I have written before about my affinity for this basket of deliciousness, and Passport’s offering endeared me for all the wrong reasons. It’s their own variation, but I loved it. The cheeseburger was ok, standard bar food, nothing out of the ordinary, but did the trick for me. Hood River is a diner’s paradise, on a small scale, and worth a stop if you are transversing the Gorge in either direction.

this one has won me over with time… Very nice bartenders, good Margaritas and a somewhat variety of beers. It doesn’t really matter to me because I am a PBR girl all the way. Just thought you should know(about the beers, not about me) Peoplewise is hit or miss. If you’re there by nine and there’s not a bunch of people, go for a walk and see if you find something else. It probably won’t get busy after that… But, when they are busy, it’s always fun. Sociable people starting conversation at the bar or bathroom lines, a few games to help interaction, good music… What else can you ask for? My favorite Hood RIver spot, by far!

Passport Pub & Café a great place to meet up with some friends and down a few cold ones. Passport Pub & Café is a nice little pub in Hood River, that features a nice selection of brews and a good food menu. The inside has a small amount of seating, but there is also a nice outdoor area with a number of tables. Great Beers, Service and food.
