Was hoping for a nice Authentic Mexican meal. However what we ended up with was bland meat, watery sauces and runny beans. Both the chicken and steak were nearly tasteless and dry. Quite unpleasant all around. $ 45 for lunch for 2 with 2 kids under 6yrs who had greasy cheese quesadillas. Someone is stretching the«in-greedy-ents» a little too thin. Waiter never came to check to see how the meal was. We finally had to ask for a check, with two almost completely full plates minus some rice. Didn’t even ask how the food was. Do you want a box, uh no, absolutely not. Any decent waiter woukd have understood there was a major issue. Had he made any attempt to rectify the situation, I wouldn’t be writing this. I should have read a few more reviews lower on the page. Saw that others had similar experiences. So disappointed.

I thought that this place was alright. It was clean and the staff was really friendly. The table bussers were really quick with the chips and salsa and for cleaning up the plates. The food was alright and what you’d expect for the price. My biggest complaint was that I was in a hurry and I sat for an unexpected long while after my plate had been picked up waiting for the check before I had to stop a server and ask for it.

This one of the best Mexican cuisine, yes cuisine not food! Service, drinks, and the food was perfect. Crab enchiladas were creamy and very flavorful. Chili verde over the top. Guacamole was creamy and different than others very flavorful. 18 oz top shelf Margarita were great. This family knows how to do it right. Which they were in Redwood city, ca. Thanks

Ixtapa is a great place for an authentic mexican style meal. The food is made fresh and is always very delicious. I personally love their chicken enchiladas. They are great for groups or just for a quick bite to eat and the staff is very nice and accommodating. Plus the beautiful wall art through the restaurant is a nice touch. If your craving home style mexican food, this is tge place to go.

We came in for a small lunch. At 10.00 for a burrito, enchilada, rice and refried beans I was expecting downsized portions. It was way more than I could it and crazy delicious. I love this place. Top it off with a 22oz. Negra Modelo and I was in heaven.

Love the food. Beans and rice cooked great. Pastor taco sin tortilla was perfecto!!! Chicken enchiladas was very good, the chicken was moist. The steak fajitas were great. Service was outstanding and very accommodating with special orders. Try a Margarita!

Fake Mexican. Fake queso. Terrible spices. Runny ground beef. Drowned tortillas. Runny salsa. The glass of water was good…

The best thing about this place was the Andes mint I got afterwards and the cleanliness of the bathroom. I wanted a lot of cheese, I didn’t get it and they weren’t around to ask for more. The rice wasn’t cooked, was actually crunchy in parts. The beans were blah. But the worst part was the chicken inside the enchiladas. Open up your enchilada or burrito, and taste the chicken plain. Taste that? It’s like it was separated out of a can of chicken noodle soup. What the crap? And for $ 10 – 16 per person? No thanks.

Average in an area that has some really good options… But also some below average options. Right in the middle. Prices are very fair

Ate here tonight on our way through Hood River. The food and service was horrible. Our server was very unfriendly and acted inconvenienced the entire time. The rice was dry and flavorless, the Beans were liquid and tasted like they were from a can. My tamale was also dry and flavorless. Chips were warm and salsa was spicy– the only semi-enjoyable part of our meal. We left disappointed.

Lots of seating and hand made corn tortillas weekends. Excellent food. Amazing ribeye and Acapulco burrito(scallops shrimp), fajitas of yum. And horchata!

Strip mall location, so not much to look at, outside. Fairly new, well decorated, but simple. Good food. A little pricey, but we got the specials, which were very reasonable at $ 7.25(normally $ 10.50). Chips were excellent with good salsa if you like it fresh. Overall a good experience; recommended.

I don’t care for their chips and salsa, margaritas are average, but love, love, love those chili rellenos!

I’ve been here a few times as it is close to my house so naturally I gave it at lest 4 – 5 chances. My main complaint is the food, it’s extremely bland and not enjoyable no flavor what so ever. There are at least 3 other Mexican restaurants food I’d recommend over Ixtapa. I did find that the shrimp en la crema was good here but that is it. bland steak, bland beans, and chicken that tasted canned.
