This is by far my family’s favorite Mexican restaurant in town. The taste is always consistently good, they use tried and true recipes. They also serve great fried ice cream.

Really great place. I’m half Hispanic and have been to my fair share of Mexican food joints. This place is a solid choice if your looking to get that authentic Mexican food you’re craving instead of that fancy garbage everyone is trying to push these days. Not really sure what some of these other reviews are talking about but we had great and helpful service. As well as decently priced menu items the portions were large and brought our very quickly. All in all I suppose you will have to try it yourself but if you take my word for it you won’t be disappointed.

The food was decent. Chips and salsa were good as were the beans served with them. Salsa was a little bit too spicy for my taste. I ordered pork Carnitas and what arrived at my table was definitely not pork Carnitas. It was merely pork sautéed with onions and peppers. Didn’t taste bad but was not what I was hoping for or expecting. Husband ordered enchilada sunrise one beef and one chicken but received both shredded beef. Tasted good but not great. server was awkward and inattentive. Sign on door said that they took American Express but they didn’t. Kind of a pet peeve of mine. overall not a great experience. food was OK service was lackluster. Not likely to return.

The service was terrible. We rolled in about 8:30 and the place was empty while all the other mexican restraints we’re packed. Should have been our sign to leave. They dropped some stale chips off right away but refused to take our meal order for over 20 minutes even after a request. The wait staff dissappeared one by one until the owner was left by himself to cook and serve. He did not look. happy or friendly. The meals we’re just ok, the experience… not.

Worst Mexican food in town! It used to have great service and was a great place to get Mexican food. First they forgot to place our order, then they over cooked all the meat and third they over charged us for both items. I use to love this place, but I will not go back. Maybe it changed ownerships?

After my first visit here I can definitely say I am impressed with the food and recommend coming here if you like authentic Mexican food! We started with a large Cadillac margarita… Perfect to share. My friend and I also shared a steak burrito. It was plenty of food for the two of us. The meat was really good and the beans and Rice were delicious as well. The location is a bit hidden and it’s definitely a dive. Very authentic décor and atmosphere. There were flies buzzing around and no shaded outdoor seating, but the food is so good that it makes up for it!

This place is awesome. Excellent value and tasty food. I had the chili colorado burrito and ate the whole thing happily. Looking forward to trying some other things on the menu(which I couldn’t find online!)

One of the top 3 mexican food stops in the hood. Nice outdoor patio with a chunk of grass for the kids to play on. Big servings on huge plates and quality ingredients. I always recommend the chili verde but plenty of other great dishes as well.

Favorite Mexican food in town. We live close and walk down at least once a week. Food has been great. Huge portions. The service has always been quick and friendly. My husband always gets the monster burrito and it is a monster. Usually is good for two meals. I get steak tacos and they are excellent with lots of great flavor. Margaritas are excellent but to me could use a little more salt on the rim. Love this place!

I agree with the other reviewers. THIS is the mexican place in town! It’s not so great looking on the outside, but the food is great. I go there whenever I need a Camerones A La Diabla(spicy shrimp) fix. Spicy, made from scratch(or it tastes like it) and delicious. THIS is the place to go in town. Nice sunny back/side porch too. Thank goodness I found my place to get my mexican food fix.(The other places in town are pretty disappointing– I thought I was pooched when I moved here.)

My favorite Mexican in the gorge. For the food not the drinks.

We used Unilocal to look up local restaurants and I banked on El Tapatio since there is one in Gladstone and it serves consistent food. When we drove past, there was no El Tapatio, but another post stated we were at the correct address, only the name changed. The service is great, the large house margheritas were LARGE, and we had specialty dishes that were decent.

My absolute favorite chili colorado burrito– smokey, rich, full flavor sauce on tender spicy steak! The seafood chimichanga is also amazing — loaded with sweet, plump seafood wrapped in a slightly fried tortilla and covered in a delicious cream sauce. Avoid the enchiladas and stick with the specialty dishes. Service is great.
