The view is great. Food is not up to par after spending $ 350– for 4-people. Service was bad. Had to ask the waiter twice for water. Waiter came around twice in 2 hour. My Filet Mignon for $ 60– was over cook and had strings in my meat. Portions is very small. Should have gone Ruth’s Chris Steak House on Lewers… Aloha

Meh, I’ve experience better… Like 6 months ago it was better. The first time I came here was for our 1st wedding anniversary and I was impressed. 6 months later I brought my parents with me for my birthday and I was disappointed. My parents got the seafood tower thing which was good but when it was time for the steak, they cooked them all wrong and inconsistently even though we all ordered the same Medium Well. One was raw, one was cooked good, other was over done. Also the cake they included for my birthday was twice as small. Still good and decadent but small :( I’m not coming back, even if a corporate sponsored event were there. Well, okay maybe I will if it’s free but I won’t be coming back w/my wallet: P

We had dinner here last week and I have to say the meal was absolutely amazing. Everything from the calamari to the wagyu steak and twin live lobster tails and whatever you do don’t miss out on the crème brûlée. If there were more stars I would have given it more stars. Don’t miss this place. It’s a MUST! Exceptional service and dinner.

One of my favorite spots for cocktails and a nice chill evening. Great piano player. Fantastic views. Great bartenders. Oh, and the food is delicious too. As expected everything is a bit pricey, but it’s worth it. Check out their happy hour. It’s fantastic!

«Okay, okay I’ll try other steakhouses other than Ruth’s Chris» is what I told my mother in law irritably after she kept trying to convince me that The Signature Steakhouse was better than Ruth’s Chris before. I’ve heard that from a few other people as well. My husband and I have been going to the Ruth’s Chris at Restaurant Row for 10 years, so my mother in law really wanted us to broaden our palettes. It’s a new year; I’ll try it. So I made the reservations for New Years evening. We parked at Ala Moana near the ramp connecting to the Ala Moana hotel and took the elevator up all the way to the top of the tower. The views were beautiful. I can imagine the beauty during sunset. Definitely 5 stars for the ambience and view! The piano and the flute were playing. It was loud, but then again, I bet it was crowded because of the New Year. On a silent night, I’d bet it’s just the perfect date spot! Very romantic. We had six adults and my 21 month old daughter, and thankfully they let us choose between a round table overlooking the view or a private room seating 6. We choose the private room which was so nice because it aloud my daughter to scream if she got fussy. Luckily that didn’t happen at all throughout the view, but I’m so grateful for the choice of that room! Now for the food and service… Service: It wasn’t as top notch as I’d expect it to be for a steakhouse. I expected more professional and more friendly. We had one girl that was extremely friendly that took our orders and gave us our drinks, but I didn’t feel that professional sense of service. No offers on refilling my drink. They did leave the water pitcher for my husband because my mother in law pretty much told them my husband rates restaurants on how often they fill his water glass. He didn’t really like the choices of juices they have — pineapple, cranberry, orange. Very limited, so we just stuck with water. Our waitress did help our party choose a great red wine — Jordan. Food: I got the ahi poke to start for my appetizer. Their fish is fresh because if it wasnt, my body would have reacted(allergic). It was really good! Loved the sauce and the red onions! My daughter had the mac and cheese. That was also good. For my entrée, I had the petite filet and king crab legs… just as I get from ruth’s chris. There was a spice to my steak that was light in flavor but noticeable enough. It was crisp on the outside too. I have to say though, it wasn’t as tender as I expected. The king crab was tasty, but it’s just the little things I’m use to! Like ruth’s Chris cutting it to just twist the crab leg and all the meat just comes out, and the heated butter! & the hot plate that comes with your steak with the garlic and butter ooozing. I also tried their desserts — chocolate layer, the chantilly, and their lilikoi crème brûlée. None impressed me and we’re just so-so. Yup, so there’s my verdict — Ruth’s Chris still is my number 1. If Ruth’s Chris food could be teamed up with Signatures ambiance… it’d definitely be everything I’ve ever wanted.

For the hype this place receives on some review sites, I was definitely expecting more than what we got in terms of quality. The service was good, this I will not take away from the establishment. However, when I can still remember how bad BOTH desserts were and non impressive my main was… well, all the service in the world cannot make up for it. We were here on 12÷21÷15 The main I ordered was one that many said was«spectacular»… I am wondering if my tastebuds don’t work. It was swimming in unsalted butter and was just a poor salmon that was sacrificed … the worst part is that the«seared» part was really quite nice… too bad someone in the kitchen chose to destroy it by pouring butter all over it. Not even the chopped tomato with cilantro condiment could save it… in fact, I kept wondering why the kitchen didn’t leave well enough alone and serve it with the tomato condiment and a slice of lemon. For dessert, each of us ordered the«Sweet and Salty Pistacchio» and the«Chantilly Chocolate». They tasted like store bought mini cream pies… BOTH of them looked exactly the same and tasted the same… that is, they had no taste… I couldn’t taste the pistacchio(even though I counted about 12 in the cream… I know, but I was REALLY disappointed so I chose to torture myself a little more) and the chocolate one was just as tasteless :-(And this was our«good bye to Hawaii meal»(our first time visiting this part of the US). If we ever return to Hawaii… we won’t be coming here… even if the view is good(and this does depend on where you are seated by the way… I’ll take our La Ronde ANY day compared to this place)

4STARS We had dinner here for restaurant week and the experience was really phenomenal. I love how almost every aspect of dining here is super well thought out, minus one minor hitch, but we’ll talk about that later. From setting foot into the express elevator to the 36th floor in the lobby of the Ala Moana Hotel, to the panoramic views when entering the dining room, to the gorgeous chandeliers and ambient lighting and extremely courteous and attentive staff, every moment when dining here is really just a treat. The BF and I decided to order one restaurant week menu and then try some other items off the regular menu and share everything. Starters: –Strawberry Avocado Onion Salad: Omgggggggg. This combo sounds so strange but it’s delicious. The salad comes with a generous topping of some kind of ponzu sauce and it really brings everything together. –Oysters on the Half Shell: I can never say no to oysters, and this is no exception. I’m not sure what kind of oysters we were served, but these guys were super fresh and sweet. These came with horseradish and cocktail sauce as a side. –Steak Tartare: Now, this isn’t something that I normally eat, but what better place to sample steak tartare than at an actual steakhouse? This was really tasty; they went pretty heavy on the sesame oil for flavor which I’m a huge fan of. Perfect portion size paried with some toasty slices of bread. Main: –16oz Prime Rib Eye: Oooomg. I don’t even know too much about steak besides eating it, but the steak here is delicious! We ordered medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The outside was perfectly charred while the inside was juicy and tender. The wet-aging gave the steak a really unique flavor that I really enjoyed. The portion size is ginormous too, I’m super glad that we decided to order more appetizers and share just one steak. Even at the end of the meal, there was still leftovers! –Lobster Mac and Cheese: Oookay, this is the MAIN reason why I insisted on sharing a steak. I realllyyy wanted to give this a try but knew that if we both ordered steak AND this, we would have way too much food. So I might have sacrificed my own steak, but for this mac and cheese, it was more than worth it! This side dish is a little pricey coming in at almost $ 20, but for the huge nuggets of oyster, and because it’s piled up with a ton of cheese, it’s more than worth it. It’s definitely up there in the top 5 mac and cheese list for me. –Creamed Corn: This is just a side dish, but if you’re into creamed corn like I am, get it! It seems like they use fresh corn off the cob, and not the canned or frozen stuff because inside of the creamy, buttery sauce, the kernels still had a nice crunch to them. The reason I’m docking one star is because of the parking situation. We were told that parking is not offered to guests of the steakhouse at the Ala Moana Hotel. We were directed to park in the lot around the corner from the main entrance of the hotel. Fine, no biggie. When paying the check we also got our parking validated. So color me surprised when leaving the parking lot, we were still charged for parking! I guess I’m kinda nitpicking here, but you’d think after spending almost $ 100 per person on dinner and parking in their own lot that they could at least comp us the parking. Aside from that one hitch, I’m a huge fan of The Signature Steakhouse. The views of the food and service are high quality, and the panoramic city views are gorgeous. They have a ton of different seating options available, from regular tables to these cool elevated booths. If you can, definitely ask for a seat with a view! Totally worth it! Awesome place to come for a special occasion, or just to treat yourself!

Although Signature is not my number one option when it comes to a nice steakhouse in Hawaii, it is a good option. Their regular menu is pricey just like every other steakhouse, but their happy hour is up to half off. The first couple times I went to Signature, my steak was undercooked. Usually I like medium rare, but it would come out rare. However, you always have the option to ask them to take it back and cook it more. My ideal cut of steak is the rib eye — fatty and tender. Signature does well with their flavor. Their truffle mashed potatoes and creamed corn is a perfect addition to the steak. And the lobster mac & cheese is to die for. Super cheesy and creamy with chunks of lobster in it. I could just come here to eat this. Ask to sit in Dave’s section. He a great server, and knows his stuff!

One of my colleagues suggested to have our business meeting here at this place. It is located at the Ala Moana Hotel. We came around 5pm, and it was not too busy. I was unsure of what to order, so I ordered a dessert wine. Our server recommended the riesling wine, which has the perfect balance of sweetness. My colleague ordered for us the Seafood Tower for Two, which consisted of four pieces each of ahi sashimi, oysters(raw), shrimp cocktail and lobster. This is a really good appetizer, if you are undecided of what appetizer to get; most of the items are ala carte, except for the lobster. We also got complimentary bread with whipped butter. The bread reminds me of a baguette, quite hard to pull apart but it was delicious. Friendly and prompt customer service. The waitstaff were consistently checking on us to seeing how we were doing, refilling our waters and taking away our finished dishes. It has a spectacular view of Waikiki and lovely ambiance. Perfect for various occasions, from a date to celebrations to business meetings.

For a night on the town or to get a steak this could be your place. Excellent view of Waikiki to Diamond Head. Background music is always bring played. Prefer the piano player and the alto sax or flute accompaniment instead; then again live music is always a plus for ambiance. Portion sizes are large so be prepared to take food home or be willing to share. Recommend the tomahawk(bone in cut ribeye) for two. Presentation is amazing with the bone larger than your plate. The meat is tender and great even the second day(get it medium rare; don’t destroy the flavor and taste by overcooking). Sides are large and enough to share, but then again you’re their for the entrée not sides. For appetizers had the crab cakes, oysters on the half shell, and calamari. Prefer a lump crab meat instead, the oysters were fresh, and the calamari breading was tasty(that is where most of the flavor comes from). For our nite, the meats were cooked slightly different between our party considering everyone ordered medium rare and one came out more medium. Last time I was here the meat was cooked well so don’t read too much into that; you can always send it back if it’s not right anyways. The tomahawk was flavorful near the bone as it should be but some of the parts were slightly under-seasoned(guess sharing can be bad sometimes). But overall still a good cut to get. Waitress/Waiters were attentive throughout the evening. Though we forgot to mention to them not to mention our occasion to the special guest. But, that was on our part. Valet is available though you can park at Ala Moana and walk over on the second floor. Staff 4.5÷5(attentive; though I’d consider not stacking plates at this type of establishment due to noise and doesn’t seem appropriate — waiter for 3 – 4 years) Ambiance 4.5÷5(slightly loud considering we were near the kitchen — not the best location but not a deal breaker) Food 3.5÷5(for the evening; last time I’d give it it a 4.5)

All I want I is a good steak, but all I got is a mis-steak. After a long and busy day visiting places all over in Honolulu. I decided to rejuvenate myself back with a good juicy steak…not any steak but a «Signature Prime and Seafood» steak. Made reservation and of I went. Arrived and the restaurant is located on the 36th floor with a view overlooking the city. What I ordered: Appetizer: 1 glass of Cakebread BTG($ 17) Seafood Tower($ 58.95) included 4 slices of Ahi sashimi, 1lb lobster, 4 cocktail shrimps, and 4 oysters. Entrée: 2 glasses of Stag’s Leap«Artemis» at $ 24/glass 24oz Porter House($ 65.95) — medium rare Colorado Rack of Lamb($ 56.95) — medium rare Truffle Mashed Potatoes Desert: S&S Pistachio($ 11) Appetizers were good but barely satisfied one person. Entrée: Colorado rack of lamb was beautiful grilled and seasoned. Porter house steak was a mis-steak. Over cooked and way too salty. Hence the 2nd glass of Artemis. Truffle mashed potatoes was delicious. Finished them before I get a chance to touch the rack of lamb and the mis-steak. I could’ve eaten 10 bowls of it. Desert: The s&s pistachio was ok. I rather eat my Haagen Dazs Green Tea ice cream. Service: Service was slow and waiter was incompetent. Took my order and brought my wines then disappeared for the next 30 minutes. When asked about certain type of wine, he just pointed to the highest $ bottle. For the 2 hrs dinner, the waiter came by my table twice. Overall, this restaurant is hyped up. Only great things are the truffle mash, lamb, and the view of the city.

The Signature was crowded during happy hour!!! So the service was really slow. After happy hour was over, the restaurant was pretty empty for a Saturday night. You must sit in the bar area to get the happy hour deals. The full menu and Kama’aina special is also available at the bar. Although there were a few dishes we liked, our main dishes were disappointing. FOOD: CRABCAKES: $ 18 is pretty expensive for 2 macaron sized crab cakes, but they were delicious! They are kind of mushy and soft even though it looks like they are crispy on the outside. There’s a little kick to the crab cakes which I enjoyed. GARLICFRENCHFRIES: OMG! These are sooo good and addicting! Couldn’t stop eating them! Thin cut, crispy, garlicky french fries. Just get them. You won’t regret it. And they give a lot of fries! CAESARSALAD: Nothing special. A little too heavy with the dressing. Also, I dont understand why restaurants don’t chop up the lettuce for you. It doesn’t look prettier when you stack a bunch of leaves on top of each other. Just makes it more difficult and cumbersome to eat. BACONCHEESEBURGER: I’m glad we came during happy hour. I cannot understand how anyone would pay $ 24 for this. Teddy’s and La Tour have better burgers. The hamburger patty is pretty large, at least ½ pound, but it is flavorless and dry. When I cut the burger in half, it crumbled and fell apart. For such a large patty, it came with only one slice of tomato and a few very thin slices of avocado :( RIBEYE: It was really juicy, soft, and cooked perfectly medium, BUT the outside was slightly burnt. So even though each bite was initially tasty, there would be that charred after taste. SORBET: Signature’s daily sorbet was dragon fruit chardonnay! It was such a beautiful pink color! It was very good and probably the best sorbet I’ve ever had in my life. You could actually taste the chardonnay!

This is my second visit here a year later to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. I made a reservation online through open table a week prior and was able to get the date and time I wanted to have dinner. I made a notation that it was for a birthday celebration. The restaurant sits on the top of Ala Moana Hotel. We arrived there on a weekday, 10 minutes prior to our reservation and was able to get seated right away. The hostess even greeted my boyfriend a happy birthday as she led us to our tables. That was nice of her to have acknowledge him. We were seated in one of those half booths overlooking the city view. It was quite a romantic set up. The ambiance is really beautiful here but the lighting is quite dim, maybe to give the restaurant a lovey dovey feel while the pianist was playing throughout the night. I didn’t have a drink that night but my boyfriend had tried their Kentucky(Mint julep) signature drink that was recommended and he even ordered another because it was that good. We were offered our waters and complimentary bread while we looked over the menu and the waiter had given us recommendations based on what we were craving to eat that night. Our Dinner menu: — 20oz Bone in Rib Eye –Seared King Salmon –Lobster Mac & Cheese –Sauteed Mushrooms –Complimentary Truffle Mash Potatoes Everything was delish and cooked to perfection. Fine dining portion sizes may seem small but they can be quite filling. You pay for what you get for, the quality of food and service brought upon us was worth it all. The both of us came out to about $ 150 but it’s not everyday that you get to dress up and be all in the fancy smanchy mood to splurge a little. It’s nice to go out and treat yourselves to something deserving such as a fine dine experience as we’ve had. We even had left overs because it was overly satisfying in our tummies. And for the Birthday celebrant, he was offered a complimentary Chocolate Layer Cake with the greeting«Happy Birthday» in chocolate writing. The cake was so rich and moist but oh so yummy! We took the rest of it home because we couldn’t finish that in one sitting as it was huge! Thank you to the staff of SignatureSTK for making our experience memorable.

This is a review of 2 visits for dinner here. The highlights were the steamed Maine lobster, which is not offered at many places; the truffle garlic mashed potatoes(rich and creamy, not to mention all you can eat!!); French fries(super crispy), the garlic butter toast(eat ‘em hot while they’re super crispy and chewy), and the ultra-dense 7-layer chocolate cake! The service during our first visit was impeccable, but only mediocre on our second visit. Maybe we expected a lot more based on our first time. Since this place is supposed to be a steakhouse, we were disappointed that although the quality of the steaks was good, they were WAY over-seasoned. The first time we got the Wagyu beef and filet mignon, which were good but not great, due to too much salt and pepper. We also had the rack of lamb, which was very gamey, not the quality expected at a steakhouse. On our second visit, the steaks were salty to the point of being inedible. The extra star is for the service, since they graciously replaced our steaks when we notified the waitress. They also brought us complimentary cake for our birthdays. We’re undecided about returning due to the salty steaks. Maybe one day we’ll try happy hour.

This review is for Happy Hour at the Signature Prime Steak & Seafood, not the regular dinner service. Recently, I went for Happy Hour(5:00– 6:30pm) with six friends on a Monday night. For HH, you are seated in the lounge area which overlooks the Hawaii Convention Center and Waikiki. It is a nice view, but if you are have a regular dinner table, you may be able to get an epic view of Magic Island and the sunset. One bonus of the lounge is the live piano player which radds to the ambience of the place. If you are lucky, you can even reserve a seat at the piano… a great date idea. The other obvious bonus of the lounge area is the Happy Hour prices on drinks and food. The HH menu contains many standard steakhouse favs like fried calamari, garlic fries, ahi poke with generous amounts of avocado, and raw oysters. Two items that stood out: the beef sliders and the off-the-hh-menu wet-aged ribeye steak. Tender and juicy cuts of beef(not hamburger) are set between taro rolls and other goodness. The set only comes with two sliders, so you may want to order up more initially. The wet-aged ribeye was soft, juicy, very flavorful, and prepared perfectly. Remember, this item is not on the HH menu, so ask for it. Why not 5 stars you ask? On the day we went, the lounge area was very understaffed. There was one only server working all 15 tables or so in this section, so it took a while before our orders went in and it took a while to get the attention of our waiter as he was being pulled in many directions. Hopefully theyll fix this issue. However, you cannot beat the views, the classy ambience, and the quality of the steak at the Signature and I will definitely be back again for HH and dinner.

If I had to round-up two key reasons why it’s worth the serious coin to dine at Signature Prime Steak & Seafood, it would be: 1.) The wet-aged Prime Rib Eye Steak — Easily up there in contention for«Best steak on Oahu». ITISAMAZING! 2.) The ambiance and view — Easily up there in contention for«Best Sunset Dining View on Oahu», along with an absolutely GORGEOUS restaurant inside, high above Ala Moana. That’s all you need to know, and two main reasons I highly ecommend Signature as a very memorable dining experience when you feel like splurging a bit for«extra fancy». Only reason this gets 4 instead of 5 stars is, 1.) they didn’t have two items listed on the menu that we really wanted to try; and 2.) they dropped the ball on service, neglecting our table for over 15 minutes into our meal, which had us scratching our head, like«huh? What happened? Where’s our servers go?». Still, highly recommended if you want an absolutely incredible, mouthwatering steak, complimented by breathtaking birds eye views overlooking Honolulu from high atop Ala Moana, within an absolutely gorgeous, very romantic restaurant.
