Tami is the BEST – not only is she great at what she does and knows her stuff, but she’s also super sweet, friendly, charismatic, and a beautiful woman inside and out! I struggled using my broken and borderline illiterate knowledge of salon terminology, accentuated with a flurry of exemplary hand motions to explain to her the type of curl I’m used to getting, and from my brief, 20 second explanation, Tami figured out exactly which rod to use to achieve the type of curl I wanted. For someone who has been hooked on getting my eyelashes permed for the last two years, I probably should’ve prepared ahead of time and just brought a picture. For those of you contemplating between a perm and extensions, I am personally a huge fan of the perm – its such a convenient, painless, no-hassle way to fabulous lashes! I wear contacts everyday, have super sensitive eyes and skin around my eyes, but lash perms work sooo well for me and my lifestyle. What happens is you lie on a bed, the technician has you close your eyes, they cover the skin around your eyes with protective pads, clean your lashes with a clean mascara wand, carefully apply perm solution to your lashes, then wrap your lashes over a particular type of rod to achieve your desired curl. After all of that, you literally lie there with your eyes closed for 45 minutes to an hour to wait for the perm solution to activate the curl, then the technician carefully removes excess perm solution from your lashes, removes the rods and protective pads from your skin, and sometimes applies clear mascara gel to hold the perm in place. It is ok to apply mascara to your lashes immediately after the perm, but if you really want the curl to last, do NOT wet your lashes for the 24 hours immediately after the perm. The perm lasts as long as your natural lash cycle(lashes grow, fall out, & and replaced with new ones), which from my own experience, varies from individual to individual. It was my first time at this location and first time getting a lash perm again after a three month hiatus, meaning my thin Asian lashes, though pretty long in length, were naturally pin-straight and incapable of holding a curl to save its life, per usual. That day, I also happened to have been on less than an hour’s worth of sleep the night before, super stressed out and exhausted, received bad news literally five minutes before I walked in the door, got there seven minutes late, and figured I’d take the opportunity to snag a kitty nap while waiting for my lashes to perm as I usually do when I get them done. That all changed when I walked in the door. The location is dark with its black painted walls, but lit well enough that its cozy, not creepy, and Tami greeted me with this huge, friendly smile. I ended up voluntarily giving up the nap I promised myself and left an hour later not only LOVING my lashes, but in an unexpectedly great mood after my long conversation turned heart-to-heart with Tami. I normally don’t open up to people easily, especially upon meeting a person for the first time, but somehow small talk turned into us gushing about our families, relationships, love lives, and values for the full time I was there. She didn’t need to, but gave me a hug before I left. It didn’t feel like I went in to get a service done – it literally felt like I was hanging out with a close gf who happened to be helping me perm my lashes! Other than my unique experience with Tami, I encountered two minor differences between this location and the others that I’ve gone to for lash perms: 1. Including my 20% tip, the service cost me ~$ 70, which is ~$ 10 pricier than other Hawaii locations I’ve been to, but worth the small difference in price. 2. They use one of those adjustable lab lights above your eyes, similar to a small version of the ones in dental offices above the patient chair, probably to ensure meticulous perfection in the perm prep process to achieve the curl you want. I appreciate this attention to detail, but I personally did not like the extreme brightness of the light, even with my eyes closed. This was the only location where I experienced the technician using a light like this – every other place I’ve been to was lit with natural or fluorescent lighting. I uploaded a picture collage of my lashes before my perm(top picture), several days after my perm without any mascara or makeup(middle picture – aren’t my lashes sooo thin?!), and several days after my perm with my favorite mascara combo(bottom picture). Don’t they look great with the perm and mascara?! I’m sooo happy with how flirty and lavishly long they look and feel!(And if you’re wondering, I do not use«fiber» or «3D» mascara – I use a combination of the«Falsies» mascara in the purple tube & Loreal Telescopic in the silver tube :)

I just had my lash permed by Tami awhile ago and just never had time to get them done again until today! Tami is just wonderful!!! She is so pleasant and so gentle with her hands that I can barely feel what she is doing. I’ve had my lashes permed many times when I was living in Japan but when I moved back to Hawaii I could not find a good place to get my lashes permed. After trying a few well known salons, it was a very big disappointment!!! Lashes over processed… too curly to the point the tips of my lashes were kinky and a little frizzy… a bunch of my lashes were pulled out when they removed the perm rods, leaving me with a bald spot!!! This will never happen with Tami Perming your lashes!!! She is very meticulous, and very careful and just knows what she is doing!!! I wouldn’t go to anyone else but Tami!!! Oh, she does add on partial extensions to a lash perm which is also fantastic when you want just a little bit more glamour! Not too much but just enough! She also does cosmetic tattooing and that will be my next thing to get done by Tami!!! As a fellow esthetician I would only go to someone I trust, with an artistic eye and skillful hands!!! My brows and eyes are waiting Tami

Tami! I’ve been going to BeautiGoddess for years for my eyelash perms and I love Liz. I couldn’t get an appointment with Liz so I tried tami because if Liz trusts her then so do I. Tami is great, very friendly and I love the conversations we have. she’s very gentle and I never feel uncomfortable. she also does partial lash extensions for me(an add on for perm) and I love how natural and subtle they are(yet glam!) — I’m not much into the heavy fake lash look for everyday. I love it and my perms always last for weeks even when the extensions are gone(they last weeks too but I’m very rough with my eyes haha). I genuinely look forward to my lash appointments, I feel like it’s an hour or so I can actually relax !

I’ve wanted to get my eyelashes permed for a couple of years now, but just never took the time to find someone reputable and schedule the appointment. Well, I finally took the time and booked an appointment with Tami and could not be happier with my choice. I have very straight lashes that I have been self conscious about and Tami fixed that for me in one appointment with a lash lift(eyelash perm) & lash tinting. I actually just went in for a lash lift, but she told me about the tinting and suggested I try it sometime, so I decided to go ahead and have my lashes tinted the same day right after my perming & that really made even more of a difference, my eyes pop now :) I probably will only wear mascara when I wear a lot of eye makeup or am going out at night, because they just look great on their own now. I was surprised how quickly the appointment went by… Tami is one of the kindest people I have met in a while so we just talked and before I knew it my eyelashes were done. Also I wanted to add that I have always been a bit nervous with finally deciding to get the eyelash perming done, since obviously chemicals are so close to your eye, but Tami was very professional with the whole process & her workspace was very clean. If you are on the fence about getting this done or have just been doing your research to find the right professional to do it, you really don’t need to look any further… I know I will keep coming back to Tami as long as I am on island & she’s offering eyelash services, she gave me the exact results I wanted and it was truly the best money I’ve spent in a while! Thank you again, Tami!

I’ve always wanted to have my lashes permed but was too nervous. I went to see Tami and it was wonderful! The whole experience from beginning to end was so comfortable & relaxing. She talked me through each step explaining what she was doing & why she does it. She even put this soothing collagen mask under my eyes that felt so good. After it was done, which took just about an hour, my lashes were amazing! It was perfectly curled & they looked full and long. It’s now been four weeks & they still look awesome. The price is totally affordable so that makes it so easy to maintain too. Can’t wait to go back and try something else now!

I have wanted to tattoo my eyebrows for years, but feared I would end up with undesirable effects. I went to see Tami just as a consult. She spent time explaining her process drew on several options with pencil till we found they perfect brow for my face. My second fear was the pain… but with her topical numbing cream and gentle hand it was virtually painless. I left her office with eyebrows more beautiful then I imagined. A major plus even after just one day no one could notice they were tattooed. however I got lots of compliments on how good I looked… the fact the we’re tattooed will be our little secret.

I recently went to Tami to fix a scar that left a very noticeable white line running through my left eyebrow that I have had since I was a small child. She did such a good job not only darkening the scar but making my eyebrows look fuller and more uniform and beautiful. It was much faster and more comfortable than I expected it to be(it was my first tattoo; I was pretty scared!) and it was only about a 2 on a scale of 1 – 10 as far as pain! I am so pleased with how it turned out that I made an appointment with her to get my eyeliner done as well! :) oh yeah, did I mention she works weekends?! Tami is AWESOME! Update: I just came back from my eyeliner appointment and it looks so fantastic! Its natural-looking and I feel so happy knowing that I can do one less thing when I get up in the morning. It only took two hours, and I was comfortable the whole time. The studio got a little chilly, so I recommend bringing a jacket. It was once again an outstanding experience!
