Subway

It’s about 5:30, no guest to make sandwiches for, yet ALL of the tables are dirty, the soda station is a mess… And yet all three employees are in the back messing around. And the girl who mad my sand which seemed a bit angry, but kudos for putting a lot of olives when I asked for extra, but be careful on the mayo. Never thought I would have had a be a bit grossed out at Subway.

BLUF: 3 stars for the sandwiches and friendliness of the sandwich preparer. Pretty much everything else needs work. Note it was only about 4:00pm on 26 Mar 2016 when I stopped in.
Signage: need to update the bread and and condiment option signs. They normally go on the glass by where you order. After a minute, I did find the bread selection, but the font and pics were miniaturized. Fix: put a bigger sign with more contrast to the background.
Cookies: they had only about 5 cookies total on hand. Fix: bake some cookies!
Bread: no Italianbread! Fix: put the bread ovens to work.

Daughter had worked at Subway going to college. This is the average 2 to 3 stars. Wife’s sandwitch was made okay. Bread was soft and ingredients semi sloppy. My bread was dry and not enough sauce to make it soft. I am used to 4 to 5 star service. I will explain some normal actions and maybe manager can learn from it. You hit the door entrance and staff even if very busy takes the time to say «Welcome to Subway». Sometimes it seems repetitive because their is 30 people in line but it makes the difference. Shops that are very good have lines. Maybe this shop is low volume. One person starts by getting orders started from the line. Bread and meat get going. Toasted or not. Veggies are rolling. Sauce. Just making sandwitch is an art just not slapping it together. Freshness is key to ingredients. This was not very noticeable on the line. When it is 9pm after a 5am on job working to 8pm at night in hotel. This place will fill the tummy. Only steps from park shore hotel.

$ 9 for a footlong Ham sandwich that only had one layer of meat. If you can get to Safeway, they make a better, fresher sandwich at lower cost. You can get Ahi poke there as well. Money better spent elsewhere!

This review is for the Subway located in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center (2201 Kalakaua Ave.). This is my horrible experience from ordering Subway take out today.
I came here in the morning, at 11am. Terrible, Terrible service! I see that all the veggies are all in place etc. I already knew what I wanted from the moment I got to Subway, which was the chicken noodle soup because I am not feeling too well today. The lady working decided to haul away the bread to the back as I stood there waiting for her to offer service. I just got there so, it’s understandable, most people would like a moment to decide. No problem. I watched her walking back towards me and stopped right in front of me and didn’t say anything. Since the worker didn’t say anything I just told her what I wanted. Two orders of Chicken noodle soup please. This employee is named, Judy. Very unfriendly this «Judy», No Smile, just plain straight out– ATTITUDE.
As Judy was ringing me up, another customer just came by and started to look at the menu. I asked Judy, «Are you having a bad day?» I couldn’t believe what she said! She replied, «Hurry Up.» I paid with my card and left. I work in the mall and I often come to this food court on my breaks. This is very disappointing and shameful to have unfriendly workers with a disgusting attitude serving other locals and tourists. I hope that Subway will take the initiative to talk to this employee and hope for positive changes. If not, simply replace this employee (if there have been other complaints, I’m sure there has been) because I am extremely unhappy about how Judy serviced me.

Auf waikiki ist alles teuerer als außerhalb. Der Subway ist die Notlösung wenn man für 6,50 Dollar was zu essen sucht. Am besten gleich als Menü für 8.50 Dollar dann kann man vor der Subway sich mit der Cola länger hinsetzen und auf das Wasser schauen wenn die mittagsonne zu stark ist.

Veggies were disgusting… Tomatoes were like slop. Can’t believe they don’t give fresh avocado any more. For the price of what should have been «fresh», I could have went to sit down breakfast…

Ate breakfast here before running my errands for the day in town. It’s warm in there which makes it a bit unpleasant. I was sitting in there and sweating. Ew.
The sandwich artist very very quick and my sandwich actually looked like the pictures. I was pretty impressed LOL.
It’s more expensive in town than near home so I wasn’t caught off guard with the prices.
I don’t know where you’d park, honestly. I caught the bus to town lol.
If you want a good sandwich and are nearby, you should stop in.

Omg expensive! For one footlong meal, one 6 inch and a bottle of coke = $ 20! Waikiki tourist special I suppose! It wasn’t as busy as their neighboring shop Cookie Corner. The food was decent, it rates about the same among other Subways. Customer service was friendly.

Expensive-​nearly double the price than LA subways. Stuff that barely speaks English. Slow. Prolly worst subway I have been. Save money for beachside kitchen.

They just talk fast without watching you on the eyes. They dont know anything else than «what kind of bread and cheese» and they didnt tell me the kind of cheese avaible, just pour american cheese on the sandwich.
Its a good place and cheap one for a beach break.

Best subway I have ever eaten at! They packed my sandwich with every ingredient I ask. I didn’t have to ask for more olives for the first time in my life! They made the sandwich very quickly and we had 2 sandwiches for $ 6! AND 2 drinks came with it!!! Eat breakfast everyday here it tastes so good and will save you tons of money on food. I ate here 4 out of 7 breakfasts while I honeymooned in Waikiki. My wife and I loved the employees and the service!

This place was horrible. It’s subways. But they seem to do it «their way». Less ingredients than the subway restaurants I’m used to. The vegetables didn’t seem either fresh or ripe. They seemed to use half the cheese most other subways do. It’s also more expensive.

Convenient Waikiki location and «conveniently» located in a cookie store that propels me to devour a healthy sandwich while baking in the fresh smell of just-​out-​of-​the-​oven cookies. A 500 calories meal soon turned into 1000 calories after 5 minutes.
No spinach at this location. Typical Waikiki double-​the-​mainland-​price, a foot long costs $ 10+. No biggie!

Nothing out of this world, the location is nice and the place was clean.

This was a good option for the break fast if you don’t want to eat really heavy. I like there egg/​cheese sub which you can get for 6 $ for foot long. You can add all the veggies you like. The eggs tasted fresh and overall the place is clean and you can sit and eat inside enjoying the waikiki beach. The only draw back is that if you prefer sitting outside you may be enjoying the company of a homeless as they are plenty of them on the waikiki beach :)…(didn’t expect it from this place).
All other subs will cost you twice what you get in main land, so be prepared to get little shocked, there won’t be any 5 $ footlong choices…, still i will recommend this place more healthiest place then other greasy places.

While the staff was very businesslike with no emotion and reciting the questions «what kind of bread?» and «what kind of vegetables?» by rote, they were very quick and efficient. Subway usually has fresh-​looking ingredients which make eating healthy a plus, but for this particular location there was a bonus.
It was the BEST PACKED SUBWAY SANDWICH I’ve had! Nothing fell out as I ate my foot-​long black-​forest ham sandwich with everything except jalapenos. Haha!
The less-​one star is for the lack of pleasantries and pricing. The place is a little over-​priced, but it is Waikiki, so it’s to be expected.
Will definitely go back (maybe not so often) but will just for the non-​messy sandwich!

All Subways are the same, but they aren’t. The good thing about this one is that the bread is soft fresh and veggies are always crisp and tasty. Yeah it’s in the middle of Waikiki so of course the prices are going to be a little higher, would you expect anything else? The bottle line is that this Subway has consistently good subs, it won’t disappoint on flavor.

We were headed to Burger King, which was right across the street from our hotel, for a quick late night meal but the smell of the fresh bread wafting out of the doorway pulled me in to Subway.
I should’ve chosen Burger King.
This location is super overpriced, has extremely unfriendly employees and serves mediocre sandwiches.
