I found a coupon to get 10% off any item over $ 10. I’ve recently started liking Acai Bowls so I had to give Le Jardin’s Acai Bowl a try. The Acai bowl($ 10) was OK. I tasted more banana and granola than Acai. They top the bowl, with apples, strawberries, banannas, blue berries, kiwi and macadamia nuts. I’m shocked that I didn’t get pineapple as a topping since I was in Hawaii. I’m glad I tried it but I definitely will not try again.

Le Jardin is a cute little stand on the ground level of the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki located around all of the other retail shops. They have a couple of tables and chairs right out in front and they offer crepes, fresh fruit smoothies, acai bowls and even fresh fruits and fresh flower leis. There are so many mixed reviews on this business and their acai bowl looked really delicious so I decided to roll the dice on this one. I totally lost. I had my heart set on the acai bowl because of the fact that they add some fruits in their bowl that other businesses don’t like apple slices, kiwi and mango chunks. Yum, right? Wrong. I ate my bowl seconds after it was given to me and yet it didn’t seem fresh. The fruits were a bit warm which wasn’t too bad but the acai itself was warm and watery. When I crave an acai bowl, it’s because I want a sweet, refreshing and healthy treat. So when I discovered that it was on the warmer side, I was totally turned off. Not to mention, the customer service wasn’t that great. The female who took my order made it clear that she didn’t want to be there and gave the impression that I was bothering her. The customer service and warm acai aren’t even the best(worst) parts! Shortly after consuming half the bowl, I had to pay a visit to the ladies room. Needless to say, I didn’t finish the rest of the bowl. Yeah, TMI, maybe. Yeah, it was a waste of $ 10. I’ve had many other lower-costing acai bowls that were much better and I would’ve paid $ 10 for. And maybe this was a one-off and their acai bowls are usually good and don’t make you run to the restroom but consider this a fair warning of what may happen.

This is a nice little walk up creperie that also offers sandwiches and smoothies. Real fruit smoothies, yum. I ordered a ham and cheese crêpe. It was kinda funny when she asked me if I wanted salad and something else on the crêpe? I said no just the crêpe and a smoothie. The orange, strawberry and banana smoothie was excellent. Then crêpe arrived cold? Not luke warm, cold cheese, cold ham. Cold. When I asked for it to be warmed up I was met with a slightly funny look. Like this was a strange request. When I got it back it was a little warm. I didn’t want to go through this a pain of explaining this again so I ate it. Actually it was rather tasty. Now the best part of the visit. As I sat waiting to eat there was a screeching bird going off every few seconds. This was a loud bird, crazy loud in an outdoor atrium setting. I turned to the lady sitting across from me and said«why don’t they do something about that bird what a awful noise.» Just then around the corner came a family with a child yelling«maaaaa, maaaa!» Every few seconds. This was the bird! We both laughed and I said«God bless the parents, they have a beautiful bird!»

From the moment you order to the moment you get your order: great service and attitude! The lady that takes care of the shop is very very nice. Loved the menu options, fresh sandwiches and salads made to order and fruit smoothies. I got a chicken salad sandwich on wheat bread that I really enjoyed. And also a frozen lemonade that tasted heavenly! Definitely recommend to come here for a quick bite in between pool time or for a shopping break!
