This store is pretty small but there are lots of things to look at! The paper goods may seem expensive at first but you should take into account that these are locally made with local themes and very classy yet cute – not the cheap, cheesy, touristy stuff you find at Walmart or Waikiki. They have postcards, notebooks, folded cards, place cards, stickers, and lots of other random knick-knacks. I wish they had letter paper too. They had an assortment of modern spin-offs of vintage toys and cute children’s books. There was a Ganesha book by Sanjay Patel that I remember in particular because I saw an article about the artists on the Internet and was surprised to see it in this store. There was smooth jazz playing when I was there, which was a nice touch. I believe you can also get customized stationary here too. The service was quite friendly. We weren’t greeted instantly but I think the staff member might’ve been in the back when we came in. We came on a Monday afternoon – they typically aren’t open on Mondays but maybe they had extended hours during the holidays. Just be aware that the parking is limited, especially if you come when other stores have their peak hours(ex: Sweet E’s). Highly recommend if you’re in to stationary or even if you just want to see some whimsical things!

I wanted a special 1st wedding anniversary gift for a friend and knew South Shore Paperie was the place to find it. I’ve been shopping here for several years for their beautiful note cards but needed personalized stationery on this visit. Ian was wonderful to work with. We chose preliminary fonts and he e-mailed examples and what I could expect in a finished product. He was so intuitive to what I wanted and delivered note cards that more than met my expectations. I should mention I was on a short time line and that he had them in Virginia before the celebration. A quality product with personalized service and a personal touch – that’s why we buy local.

I wanted a shop that sells high-quality, creative cards, not just what you’d find at Long’s or a Hallmark. Good stationary and a hand-written note are rare in these times and go a long way. It’s a small shop tucked away in a little shopping center, but they have a great selection. They offered a lot of seasonal options for this Xmas time. The prices were what I’d expect: $ 4 – 5.5 per card. The gentleman working was really helpful and polite. I’d highly recommend this paperie for all your card and stationary needs.

Looking for great custom stationery for any occasion or pre-printed note cards/thank you cards? Look no further than this cute stationery boutique, South Shore Paperie! I ordered 25 bridal shower invitations(digitally printed) for my daughter a few months ago, and I was so pleasantly surprised with the finished product! I wanted something personal, original, and with the color scheme of my daughter’s wedding; however, I did not have a specific format in mind. Its owner/graphic designer by trade, Stacey Nomura, was so helpful in showing me various designs and color schemes of invitations that they had previously done. She also helped to revise some of my wording and fonts to make it picture perfect, printed the names/addresses of the invitees on the front of the envelopes, printed my return address on the back of the envelopes, and printed blank recipe cards(she suggested these be printed on a set card, otherwise, recipes would be submitted in all shapes and forms). I also ordered matching thank you cards. The entire process was during their busiest time of year(Oct./Nov.) when they were in the midst of designing/printing custom Christmas cards ordered by the 1000’s. My order took several weeks, going back and forth via e-mail and visits to her business, to ensure my complete satisfaction.(For those who know me, I tend to scrutinize details like this until the end result is picture perfect in my eyes.) And Stacey did not let me down, as she was a fantastic help based on her creative expertise and experience. Furthermore, the cost of the invitations was very reasonable.
I had so many compliments from those who received the invitations, e.g., they were so pretty, elegant, artfully creative, nice colors, etc. I was so pleased with the outcome, as I did not want to use those fill-in-the-blank invitations or bother to do my own on a computer. Prior to going to SSP, I did check with some of the larger stationery stores; however, I did not receive the personal attention as I did with SSP. Further, these larger stores printed them on the Mainland, which included a longer processing time + a shipping charge. Wished we could have also ordered wedding invitations from SSP; however, we did not know about SSP at the time a commitment was made elsewhere. Started in 2005, SSP is owned/operated by a husband(Ian) and wife(Stacey) team. Their business is unique in that they are one of a few stationers that provide letterpress printing, i.e., letters/designs deeply pressed into luxurious cardstock using hand-mixed inks via a letterpress machine; it creates a beautiful, textured print that is slowly disappearing due to computerized digital processes. In 2007, they purchased a Heidelberg Windmill letterpress, which was made in Germany in 1960 and weighs more than 3000 pounds. You can actually smell the scent of the inks while the letterpress machine is clunking as it prints the stationery. Besides letterpress and digital printing, SSP provides stationery design, illustration, and graphic design services. They carry their exclusive line of quality stationery that they’ve created on their own called Bradley & Lily Fine Stationery, which is named after their two young children. They also carry a selection of unique hard-to-find stationery items that are handpicked by Ian and Stacey, which include small gifts, wrapping paper, ribbons, note books, note cards, greeting cards, and vintage postcards in both letter-pressed and digital formats.
Located in Kilohana Square in Kapahulu with free parking available in a private lot.
I can’t wait until the next time when I’ll need custom-made invitations for a special occasion. As I still correspond via«slow mail» with a pen pal since the 2nd grade, I now know where I can find a charming, unique greeting card or notecard. These creative, one-of-a-kind, and quality stationery items are waiting for me at SSP.

Beautiful shop. My wife selected this shop to create custom wedding invitations, wedding menus and bridal shower invitations for her sister’s wedding. The prices were very reasonable(compared to NYC where we are from) and the quality was better. The owner is wonderful and extremely helpful. They also have a great selection of stock cards — we just purchased some«Mahalo» cards today. A great way to send thanks to everyone who traveled from far away to the wedding.

We had just finished a delicious breakfast next door at Sweet E’s, and as we were walking to the car, I stopped to look in the window to this stationary shop. They were closed(they are closed every Sunday), but the door was ajar and then the owner walked up to me and asked if I wanted to look around. Nice! It turns out she had a client meeting that morning and so she let us browse around while she was meeting with her client. What friendly service. I loved the stationary. Most of the creations are her own and she said that she makes them using a letterpress that she has at home. Wow. Her designs are original and much more elegant than anything that you can buy at Hallmark. Although it’s more expensive than the generic cards that you can buy at Hallmark or Longs, the quality of the paper and elegant designs justifies the price.

So kawaii! Stopped by South Shore Paperie after a lunch with Unilocalers and it’s the cutest stationary store EVER! They have custom cards for every occasion and it brings you back to a time when we weren’t completely obsessed with email and smartphones. Remember when penmanship actually meant something?! There is something sincerely beautiful and elegant about a custom made card. The thought, the care, the love is apparent in the quality of the paper and the descriptive fonts. In a Walmart world, a shop like the South Shore Paperie has brought eloquence back to the days of «Pride & Prejudice!» Jane Austin would surely be proud! There’s an old typewriter that sits on a table by the entrance and the owner’s Grandfather’s chandelier hangs from the ceiling. I think that says a lot about what South Shore Paperie stands for. Great for cards of any occasion, custom birthday or wedding invites or just to show someone how special they are to you. There is love in the details and this store is full of detail.
