This restaurant was recommended by a friend and I’m glad he did because this is now my favorite phở spot on island! I’ve had the pleasure to dine in twice. The waitresses were nice and attentive. It didn’t take long before I got my tea and water and my main dish shortly followed. If you do decide to drop in during lunch, parking can be challenging and there could be a 5 – 10 minute wait. You can also call in your order for pick-up; talk about convenience! I’ve had the phở, spring rolls, and shrimp. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu! I will gladly make the drive up here to enjoy a nice warm bowl of phở. Nom-Nom-Nom!

Always looking to find that Phở gem of a place. Found it! On my way killing time going to the airport. Located in the Kalihi Shopping Center next to Sugoi and Utage, this place is a smallish but stylish setup gem of a place with one of the tastiest Phở broths you will find. The broth is very clean and bold of flavor, prepared and owned by a younger sister and brother duo. Very friendly service and great menu choices. The sister owner-(so bad forgot her name) recommended the Oxtail Phở the next time. Always great finding great places to eat run by young local people. Keep up the great work!!!

This place is great. I usually get the Phở with steak and brisket. Yesterday I got Chicken Phở which was just as tasty. Their summer roll is the best around though and the Spring Roll-I guess it’s as good as the summer roll. Not sure since my son and his gf ate it all before I could grab a piece. LoL! Do I recommend Ha Long to friends? Yes Will I be back? Definitely!

I had the Oxtail Phở which was out of this world. Chicken/Tofu salad was also really great. I went with 3 other friends and all of us were so happy with our lunch and will be back for sure. I think I’ll also do take out when I need a Phở fix and no one to lunch with me! I also learned you can get a Phở Bar for a party, where you add what you want into your phở. I’ll keep that one in mind!

Being the town is that I am, I usually head to China Town to satisfy my soupy needs. What do I do during the evening when I’m craving phở you ask? I usually come to Ha long. They are open until 9pm so I’m usually here for dinner. The décor of this place is pretty trendy and modern, but if your coming with a big group that may be a no-no. The place is kind of small and if it’s busy and your seated on the side tables, it’s like your having phở with the person next to you. I usually order phở with meatball and meat outside, I’m the type to put all the basil and soybeans in my soup, and every condiment on the table is used. The amount of vegetables they give is adequate but since I’m a Chinatown phở eater I’m used to having the vegetables piled on. Next their condiments, they only have the basic condiments, hoisen, siricha, fish sauce. I mean when I eat phở I make it phở-nominal, and with the sauces given I just make it work. Lastly the taste of the soup is not bad, ha long is my alternative to my China Town phở. Always easy to find parking, location of thos place is very convenient, Service here is always really awesome especially when I went last night. The two were very attentive and sweet. Even though the waiter spilled water on my dad, he was really sweet I almost forgot about that.

This is my only option for phở if other places in Kalihi is closed. Since i dont always go here, the phở is good, and so is the spring rolls. Just disappointing a bit because the phở noodles break easily, it’s less enjoyable for me since i rather slurping a whole noodle. And the spring rolls, id prefer going to my other usual phở place for the quantity and price.

Update: I’m not sure of the phở itself, but recently I’ve been coming here a lot for lunch during work days because they have the best vermicelli noodles ever! I have tried so many different vermicelli noodles at different restaurants around Kalihi/Town and this is the best so far, next to Phở-Five-0. I love the BBQ chicken, lemongrass chicken or spring roll with BBQ pork combinations. All meats are so flavorful, and the dressing is seasoned just right. The portions are generous and all the veggies are fresh and crisp. I’ve been to other places that put some weird sweet and sour sauce on it, ruining my dish, but none of that silliness here! Take out only takes about 10 – 15 minutes for pick up even if it is busy inside.

Hubby and I stopped in to have lunch. He had #31, and I had beef balls and tofu phở. We ordered a side of spring rolls. At the end of the meal, I had an iced salted lemonade drink to go. OMG, it was so refreshing and it tasted like a lemon peel drink. I bet it would be great soothing drink if you have a sore throat too. If I we lived in town we would definitely go more often, but it’s worth the drive out from Central Oahu.

I’m sure I’m not the only one but after a fun-filled night out, nothing helps me recover quite like a steaming hot bowl of phở. This is one of my favorite places to get the«remedy,» and it is open at 10am, which is a big plus since I usually roll out of bed around that time. The service is prompt and friendly, especially that guy Paul. The restaurant is clean and I enjoy watching the fish in the tank. Of course, what keeps me coming back is the phở itself: the broth is flavorful but not too salty, and the noodles are cooked well. No matter how crazy the night before was, I always feel like a champ after eating a bowl of Ha Long Phở!

Our go to for Phở! The broth is tasty and reasonably priced. We prefer to eat the brisket. Lean yet tender. Salted lemon drink and Coffee with condensed milk are must haves. At night there is no problem with parking, a big plus. If you haven’t already, you should try them.

Am I the only one that reads all the bad reviews? We woke up craving phở, but I didn’t want to fight with parking in chinatown this weekend(it’s always worse on weekends). This place was nearby, decent reviews, FREE parking, and a good price range. **NOW, I am iffy about trying new PHO places because I feel like it’s such a waste of money, if I don’t like it lol. But this place was pretty decent. It’s tucked in the little shopping center near the Satellite City Hall on Dillingham. I frequent this area for the Waffle & Pancake house restaurant, but never dined in any other of the food establishments here. There are usually plenty of parking spaces, but it was packed today(11am). Ha Long Phở Noodle House is next to the shop that sells smoothies with boba. They have a cute little establishment, I believe there were about 8 tables in total in the restaurant. Very small. Their server acknowledged us when we walked in and told us to pick a table, while he dropped drinks off at another table. The service was quick. The guy dropped off menus & iced waters. Came back & took our order. Brought out the drinks. Food came out within 10 minutes. He was prompt with our check. We hate sitting around awkwardly waiting for our credit card slip. ** I was almost prompted not to go here because a few reviews about service. But their service was good. No rudeness from staff. Phở was good, but they really skimp out on your meats. My medium bowl of Phở Combo(Dac Biet) had a 1 piece of tripe, and a few pieces of flank, and two meatballs, TONS of noodles though. At $ 10.00 a bowl, it was pricey for little meat. But their broth was decent, and tasted well, not oily. They gave us the right amount of vegetables. I hate that feeling that I’m wasting good vegetables. I don’t think I’d return because the lack of items in our phở. :\ My boyfriend prefers Saigon Vietnamese Cuisine’s Phở. My sister ordered the Chicken Lemongrass with Vermicelli noodles. She said the chicken was well seasoned. I tried and piece and it was good. If you do come here try the salted lemonade. It’s lemonade with dried plum floating in the drink. It’s sweet, and salty and tastes so good! I’d come back for that!

The weather called for some sort of soup and i was craving phở. I turned to Unilocal to help me hunt down a nearby place. Decided to go with Ha Long Phở since their menu offered an egg noodle upgrade for $ 1. Not many phở places serve egg noodles so I was intrigued. I ordered the Ha Long Egg Noodle soup and it was delicious! It came with 4 jumbo shrimp, 4 char siu, 4 squid and garnished with veggies and fried onions. The broth was rich and tasty so I needed very little of the hoisin Sriracha sauce. I also had an order of the spring rolls which were good. Nothing different from any of the other phở places ice tried. I will definitely be back for their egg noodle soup. It was a winner in my book. Be aware the restaurant is very tiny and the parking at city square can be a nightmare when businesses like sugoi, and kam bakery are right next door.

Parking — 4 stars plentiful Service — 4.5 stars Quality of food — 3 stars Menu variety — 4 stars I ordered my standard beef brisket phở(as I get everywhere, but that’s for sure the first thing I try at a new Vietnamese place). The broth was good and I don’t have much to complain about, but it could have been more flavorful. I liked it fine and since Kalihi isn’t rife with Vietnamese places(compared to town or Kaimuki), I could totally settle for Ha Long. My boyfriend ordered a vegetarian summer roll of which I had one piece and that was delicious. I took my thai tea to go and I was highly displeased. It’s the only thai tea drink I’ve had that is not sweet enough. I guess someone who is really really into strong tea flavor and no sugar would like this, but I get it because I like the condensed milk. Tasted like they skimped on it.

I seriously don’t understand the rave reviews about this place. Servers and waiters were nice. Thats it really. Phở broth tasted like they have no pride in it. Bland, Just no taste. Expensive and give little. Presentation of phở… non existent, again no pride. The veggies that comes with it. Yeah… there were 2 wedges of used lime in there.

I have tried phở’ in several states. I have my favorites as far away as Virginia… until now. 1st off, how have I missed this little noodle house for 8 years? It’s a mystery. Having lived here in Hawaii 4 years and back to visit realatives and wotk at least once a year since 2008. Looking for something new and good, Unilocal had some big reviews, so I had to go. I was not disappointed. At first I saw about 8 people standing out front and was so hungry I almost passed it up. Good thing I didn’t. I was seated immediately to my surprise. The others waiting were take out orders. Once I walked through the doors the aroma and fragrance of the food had me salivating, i could not wait to eat! Ordered medium-sized Phở with flank steak, spring roll and hot green tea. «The meal deal» A small cost for dinner @ $ 12.00 with a 10% discount, thank you, Ha Long Noodle and Unilocal for the check-in discount. spring roll to start, delicious. I cannot describe the flavor but I attest it was one of the best tasting spring rolls I’ve had. It was hot, and likely the freshest spring roll from a restaurant. Definitely was not oil soaked similar to reheating some fried foods. Phở’ — fantastic broth. * you can have the meat cooked in the broth or on the side. I chose cooked in the broth. Compliments included: bean sprouts, two types of Asian basil(cilantro) and lime. Servers were pilot, professional and helpful with menu suggestions. Food was prepared quickly and delivered to table faster than expected. Something on the menu for all ages. Seating for about 30 –40. I anticipate there will be a line if its rush-hour dinner. Ha Long Noodle also has take out service, so call ahead and eat at home. I will return again.

I have the best experience each time I go here — either for take out or for dine in. The staff is lovely, the food is always fresh and hot. Their spring rolls are delicious, though I would love more diakon along with the cucumber. I crave this weekly. Their phở, in my opinion, is not the BEST on island but it’s consistent and really good. Go!

So I’ve been to Ha Long Noodle in the past. Mostly because it’s in my neighborhood and because I feel it is safe and clean here and the servers are always polite and welcoming. Early today I was craving Phở not only because my throat hurts but the weather felt like a phở day! First off it was empty and we were seated right away, leaving us to order and get our food out quickly! I ordered the rare steak outside and meatball phở size medium. Excellent! The hot, savory broth hit the spot immediately giving my sick body what it much needed. I was so loving the broth that I forgot to squeeze my lime and add the basil and saw leaf! The amount of meat and meatballs with the amount of noodles are portioned just right. We also got spring rolls which were quite smaller then other phở restaurants which is why I’m only giving 4 stars, because it’s like $ 7 for 3! skinny rolls! Husband orders steak Phở which he enjoyed and a BBQ chicken plate with rice(he can grind!) I got to try some of the chicken too and that was nicely flavored and tender! Another must try here is the BBQ pork and spring roll with vermicelli! But all in all this is one of my favorite Phở spots if you’re in Kalihi. The ambiance is pretty and it’s a small intimate place. Don’t think I’d bring my 2 year old here tho. He’d make a mess! Also got to use our 10% off $ 20 or more from checking in with Unilocal

This restaurant is smaller than many phở restaurants, so there can be a wait during peak hours. That being said, it’s a nice phở restaurant to try. The restaurant is clean and has a more modern look to it than its counterparts. The workers are all friendly and attentive. I ordered the phở with steak and tendon. Tendon is a must for me when I’m eating phở, and I usually judge whether or not I will return to a phở restaurant based on the quality of the tendon. Ha Long did not disappoint. The tendon had that great mixture of soft portions and parts that were slightly chewy. There were no off-putting hard or overly chewy pieces of practically inedible tendon that I’ve experienced at other establishments. The noodles were well cooked, and the broth was clean and savory. The standard bean sprouts, basil, and peppers were provided — all fresh and tasty. Remember to check in on Unilocal!10% off(up to $ 2 off) for first check in!

This is one of my go-to spots on a school day. I am currently attending Honolulu Community College, and Ha Long Phở Noodle House is so close! It is also close to my mom’s house so I usually bring her along. The food is so good here. I’ve had the BBQ chicken, and phở made many different ways. The phở broth is delicious and the sides are fresh. Prices are reasonable too. The prices get even better if you check in on the Unilocal app. With a Unilocal check-in you get 10% off your entire order! Service is fast and professional. There are a limited number of tables so sometimes you have to wait during peak lunch and dinner hours. Make sure to sign on the list(it is usually hanging on the front door). Parking can often be found right in front. Occasionally, parking can be hard to find and that takes a little circling around.

I usually frequent one phở place in Waipahu, but since I’ve moved closer to town, I had to go searching for another go-to for my choice of rainy weather comfort food. The broth here is by far the best I’ve had. Very flavorful. And they give a good enough portion of meat where it doesn’t ruin the taste of the broth and I don’t feel like they’re robbing me of my money. The employees are very friendly and accommodating and the establishment is clean. Def my new go to place for phở now.

Let me start off my saying I LOVE this place! My friends and I used to come here almost on a monthly basis. From all the phở places on the island, this was by far our favorite place! We really liked this place for the following reasons: 1. Clean 2. Quick Service 3. Tasty 4. Good Food, even the other items beside the phở! I mean what else is needed from a phở restaurant! I also have ordered take out before and I really liked how they have your order ready to go when you step in the door and have the condiments inside the take out! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! The only downside is, the place is getting more popular so the wait time gets longer and longer. Also the parking situation at peak times aren’t the best. The best times to go is later in the evening and avoid lunch rush hour at all costs!

The location is in a plaza in Kalihi that is pretty convenient to get to, and my bf and I decided to try it after work. We got a medium phở with rare steak and beef balls(each one was a little over $ 8), summer rolls, and I tried the salted lemonade Salted lemonade: it tastes like pickled lemon rind that u get from a seed store … It was okay but I rather just have water with my phở haha Summer rolls: pretty standard, and served with the peanut sauce. The meat inside was a little dry though Phở: the broth was mediocre and not too flavorful as other places, and the servings of beef were skimpy compared to a lot of other places, other than that it tasted okay Overall, this place is okay and is a clean and quaint place, but I rather go elsewhere for phở(other places in town are cheaper, have bigger portions, have more meat, and better-tasting authentic broth) service here is great though.

I have no idea why I never left a review for this place yet, so this is VERY overdue! Stopped by here for lunch after we met with a potential florist vendor for our wedding since the shop is close by. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. I opted in for their regular rare steak phở. Their broth is so yummy and the noodles are cooked to perfection. It’s pretty rare where I would drink most, if not all of the soup but I sure did that here. Customer service was perfect, they always came to refill our waters and checked up on how we were doing. Lots of free parking in the front, if you’re lucky, you score one right in front of the place. If not, it’s always not too far of a walk anyways. The only thing I didn’t like was their booth seats. You literally sit next right next to someone.

Tonight we walked right in and had a seat anywhere that was available. We sat down and the staff quickly set us up with place settings, a menu, and water. They were very efficient. We took some time peering over the menu and were given adequate time to place our order. They always made sure our glasses of water were filled and that we had everything we needed. The summer rolls and spring rolls were so delicious. Even my child ate 2 spring rolls and enjoyed everything that we put in front of him. The phở Tai was love in a bowl. I ordered the large and it was way too much for me! The broth is what makes the phở stand out and this one was tasty and flavorful. The shrimp and steak plate was pretty decent. I enjoyed the thin cuts of barbecue steak. Was a little dry but yummy good. The shrimp was grilled and tasted alright. Husband mentioned that he’d order it again. Another bonus to eating here as a Unilocaler, was getting 10% off of $ 20.00 when I checked in. So $ 2.00 off, not bad at all. What a sweet bonus for just being a Unilocaler. Woo-hoo! I’ll be back!

The food here is pretty good. I ordered a large rare steak phở($ 9.99) and they definitely don’t skimp on the portions. I skipped breakfast this morning so I was starving by lunch, and this satisfied that hunger. The service wasn’t anything to rave about, standard but friendly. The ambiance isn’t necessarily the prettiest, with lime green walls and plastic-covered tables(those damn sticky, suffocating, plastic protectors!) but Ha Long gets the job done. Parking here at lunchtime is a madhouse and you have to practice your patience skills. Stalls are tight but luckily I escaped without a door ding. Plus points for being open late night too(9-ish).

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon and there was only one other family eating. I got a medium number 5 which is beef balls and iced coffee with condensed milk. I ALWAYS get this little combo when I eat phở. Let me start with the cons, the phở was just eh. Not much taste, nothing amazing. It was a bowl of light flavored broth and noodles with meat balls. Literally. The mint and lemon didn’t help. Maybe I should have put sauces. Maybe I should just stick with phở places I know I like. Next the coffee, which was probably worse. I love vietnamese coffee. Not entirely sure what’s in there but I enjoy how strong it is and all that condensed milk. Their coffee was so bland. No sweetness. Just compared to other places, this was plain gross. My boyfriend who is vietnamese even said the phở was gross. On the bright side their restaurant is cute and their staff is friendly but that’s about it.

Why haven’t I come here before? I really enjoyed this phở… I choose my favorite phở on two things… The taste of the broth and the freshness of their veggies. And this place got two thumbs up! Sometimes when the bring out the veggies, some of the basil leaves have lines and have a few wilted spots on them. This place, surprisingly looks like they just cut it off the plant. Super fresh! Or… I was lucky to get the good batch haha The broth… Yummmmmmm!!! That’s all I have to say. Service was top notch, the restaurant was clean and the décor… Beautiful! Parking… Depends what time you come. Luckily I found parking right in front. Because this place has so many different shops, bakeries, restaurants and businesses, it can get a little a little crowded in the parking lot. But… It’s worth hunting for a spot to eat here. I will definitely come back to this place when I’m in the mood for some phở!

This phở restaurant has got to be my regular spot to go to whenever I’m craving for phở or usually when I’m feeling under the weather, nothing like a bowl of soup can help cure sickness. Even better that it’s less than 10 minutes away from home that it makes this location convenient for me to go to. I always either get the chicken phở or the seafood phở depending what I’m feeling in the mood for that day and add on spring rolls and summer rolls appetizers to share with whoever I’m with. The food is always on point whenever I come here and service is attentive and friendly. The broth is really good and the regular size portion bowl is quite filling. The interior design and décor is bright and welcoming. Their menu is appealing as well, not your usual large folded menu but comes in a circular menu of their items you can flip through. I’ve never had a problem with the wait here, we usually get a seat when we arrive there. The prices are average like any other phở places so the service and location keeps me coming back.
