235 F. 3d 466 — United States of America v. Ronald S Carlson this man was convicted of tax evasion, paying no income taxes for many years until finally caught by the us justice system i don’t think i’d want a person with this kind of ethics working on my mouth.

When I was young I had two of my front teeth broken, hitting the pavement in a scuffle. The dentist really ground these teeth down and I had caps which lasted about twenty years. Eventually the remainders of the teeth broke off, and in my thirties I was faced with the alternative of losing more enamel to a bridge from the adjacent teeth or then then quite primitive implants(core-vent or branemark) which are no longer in use. Then, I met Ron Carlson. Dr. Carlson created a Maryland Bridge which lasted for twenty years with one repair, until I no longer had enough enamel relative to dentin, to get the Dentists here to commit to repairing it. Now, I searched for more than a decade for the solution which Dr. Carlson provided painlessly in less than an hour. The results were aesthetically perfect. Implants are big business which is a major reason why there is such a prejudice in the dental profession against non-invasive solutions such as Carlson offers. All I know is that it was the one solution that worked for me. Ron Carlson is the one dentist in the world whom I can recommend to you. At the time his price was fair and his work, as I have said, magnificent. He must be one of the most knowledgeable dentists in the world — and you will search long and hard to find anyone in what is a complex profession notorious for avarice and incompetence, who has the courage to offer a progressive alternative to the outrageously expensive, painful, potentially dangerous, and not always effective status quo.

I was thrilled to see an add about this ‘carlson bridge’, as I had a missing molar and didn’t want an implant, so this technique sounded perfect. I live on another island, so flew to Honolulu to have it done. He put it in, and it failed within a couple months, so he re-did it(which required another trip to Honolulu of course) and it failed yet again. I ended up having to get a full bridge in the end. So, I spent all that extra time and money on something that was ultimately not strong enough for a back molar. I think this bridge could work for other teeth, but not a main impact molar, and I wish he had advised me so. He did tell me that they sometimes fail, however he thought it would be fine for me. Looking back now, given the placement of the tooth, I think he should have known better. I’m very curious of the percentage of how many actually work long term and how many fail? Hoping this helps someone considering a carlson bridge.

Ronald Carlson has been my dentist for a long time, 15+ years I think. After talking to him for just a few minutes it will become evident how very knowledgeable and passionate he is about dentistry. Not only has he maintained a standard of excellence in his work all these years, but he has been innovating to improve the world of dentistry, as well. And when it comes to the most crucial of matters, pain and discomfort, he does well to minimize. Dr. Carlson is friendly and totally professional. He runs his own practice, so most times when you call his office you’ll likely get an answering machine, don’t fret. Just leave the message! Important: Even though he does not take insurance, your insurer might still cover some of your bill! Hawaii Dental Service just requires you to send them a copy of your invoice/bill that specifies the services rendered. Call your insurer BEFORE having the work done, to discuss this. Just so you know for sure if they will cover any of the costs, and if so what kind of reimbursement you can expect. The office being located in Kahala Mall, is good and bad for us. See’s Candy, Cinnabon, Cookie Corner. oh crap. Besides that, it’s convenient and parking is easy. It’s in the office building next to the McDonalds and bowling alley. The office is immaculate, and has been as long as I can remember. Well kept, quiet and calming, and these leather couches you just wanna take a quick nap on. It has an entirely different vibe from any other dentist office I’ve been to, you’d be surprised the difference it makes. Having been a patient for so many years it’s difficult to recall specific experiences, but I can tell you that I have always been happy with the quality of work he has done, and I’ve never had to return(or go to anyone else) to «fix» any of his work. A very happy, long time patient here.
