This review is only for the BOGO waffle cones. Came in after seeing the buy one waffle cone get one free sign and sure glad I did. First off, the waffle cones were delicious and very well made. Even the single scoop came with two very healthy scoops(or very unhealthy if you’re watching those calories). The toasted coconut was delicious. Not only is the coconut toasted, but each flake is coated with chocolate making a perfect blend of crunchy and smooth. There’s also a very high coconut to ice cream ratio so you can really taste it. The lemon meringue pie that they still got is also very good. It’s extremely smooth and creamy with chunks of pie crust and swirls of lemony goodness. Perfect blend of lemony smoothness with very slight bitterness. This was a great choice. I’m so glad I’m an adult now with money and can make these kinds of decisions.

Just stopped in for some fudge when I smelled it from the street, and it was excellent. Wish it was closer to home.

Very nice shop — the air inside is filled with the smell of fudge and chocolate! — and it’s terrific to see the fudge being made, but for me it’s all about the chocolate. Unfortunately, Kiliwin’s dark chocolate is too smooth, and not quite rich enough for what I prefer. I like the store, and the staff was very friendly. I’ll shop there again when I’m in town.

$ 4.39 for 1 scoop of ice cream??? Seriously! That is simply mind boggling. If anyone pays that they need a reality check. Walk away from this establishment. Does the word«gouge» mean anything to you?

They were very nice here, and the line moved very quickly. The shop itself is very cheery– they make the cones there, and there is a wide array of candies, fudge, and saltwater taffy if you are not in the mood for ice cream. There were so many different ice cream flavors that it was almost difficult to choose. I had the s’more’s ice cream in a waffle cone, which was delicious. One scoop is the average equivalent of two scoops, and you can actually split two flavors in one scoop. I would definitely go there again!

I just left and am so annoyed with my experience, I’m writing this review minutes after leaving. First, I waited in line for ten minutes and was not helped. No one even said hello. There was a family ahead of me but only one person working both the register and scooping ice cream so it made the wait even longer. The line behind me grew about ten to fifteen deep. In the meantime, I saw a woman come out of the kitchen and asked if there was anyone else who could help. She said«Sure, let me see if someone in the kitchen can come out.» She walked away and returned to tell me «I’m in the kitchen cleaning dishes cause if I don’t clean the dishes nothing will get made.» She briskly walked away, not giving me a chance to say anything. She was straight up rude and clearly frustrated. When I was finally helped, I asked the young man who the woman was. He said«Sarah, she’s my mom and owns this place. Is there a problem?». The ice cream is waaaay overpriced for just okay ice cream but it’s the customer service that is lacking. 14 dollars for two single scoop cones?! I live in Chicago and have never spent that much for high quality ice cream. I’ve also worked in the food and bev industry for a long time, and I’m only including this tid bit because I understand that there can often be biased reviews from a varying range of perspectives on here. Not worth the trip or the money.

Picked my sister up from school and stopped in after dinner down the street. Tried some of the icecreams, and they were good but nothing out of this world. Went with a few pieces of chocolate. When I got home, I looked over my receipt and I was charged $ 5 for a cup of icecream I didn’t order. My 5 pieces of chocolate cost me $ 13 instead of the $ 8 it should have. That’s a big«extra» cost on an already expensive luxury stop.

Employees were friendly and ready to help. However, this was a bit too pricey for me when it comes to sweets. The fudge was tempting, but the prices turned me away. The cheapest thing was $ 1 and it was the size of a Rolo. I understand that good things don’t come cheap. I just hope companies understand that prices aren’t what makes a business.

I’ve had gelato and ice cream in many different cities here in the USA and in Europe. Kilwin’s is among the best. I had scoops of the Traverse City Cherry, Caramel Sea Salt and Rum Raisin in a cup. Each was outstanding. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices for the ice cream are not competitive with a super market, but then you are getting a primo quality product with memorable, creative flavors.

Oh, Kilwins, I wish I could love you. Your ice cream flavors are imaginative. They taste of real sugar without tasting overly sugary. If only your prices were within my reach. But for the price of a single scoop, I could get a pint of Ben and Jerry’s. For the price of a double scoop — two pints. Wait, say what? I’ve never seen a place that charges multiple dollars, plural, per added scoop. Most of the cost is in the service. You’re giving me about 50 cents worth of ingredients on your average-sized scoop, so you should not be charging a whole lot more than that for the quantum of service it requires. I’ve never had to pay more than $ 5 for two scoops before. This is 5 star quality, but I’m not coming back here or any other Kilwins. I’m not royalty, and I know I can find similar quality for more reasonable prices. (Yes, they are a chocolate place. Some of their chocolates are over $ 20/lb. Wait, say what? The. Most. Expensive. Chocolates around here are under that amount. Again, I’m not paying 150% hyperinflated prices.)

This place screams high-end, yet approachable and children friendly. Strange how those go together, but they do. The nice thing is they offer more than just chocolates, there were candy apples, various concoctions of hot beverages, fudge — all things sweet. Like most of the reviews here, it can be pricey, but it is a $$$plurge in this cute shoppe — yes, I need the fancier text of «shop».

Dear Kilwin’s, I love you and want to marry you. I’m already married but he won’t mind. Why would I consider moving to Holland besides the fact it’s a nice little town? Chocolate. More specifically chocolate dipped caramel apples finished with sea salt. Sigh. My husband had the snickers coated apple and that was super yum too. We also had some small pieces of candy that were yummy. I browsed at the popcorn selection which also looked fantastic. We’ll have to save it for our next trip. Open late, tasty treats, friendly service. What’s not to love?

Walked in this place, huge crowd one fine afternoon. The funniest thing was this guy rage-quitting the ice cream shop because the line was too long for him. Really made me laugh. Double scoop of ice cream on a chocolate dipped waffle cone… $ 10. Yow! Got a caramel apple which looked amazing and the staff-person started apologizing profusely about how they only had the«small ones». Huh, gonna have to try the«big» apple some time!

What more could you want from the streets of Holland? A chocolate shop? You got it. Kilwin’s delivers, in every way. They made their own fudge… right infront of you and the passerbys walking on the street. I mean, let’s be honest, that’s how I was drawn in. It took me awhile to decide what I wanted, but I settled for some pretzel sticks covered in chocolate and caramel. yum yum. The fudge looked great. They had a buy 2 get 1 free deal, but it was a little pricey. $ 11-$ 13 per slab. You could buy in half slabs, too. They had chocolate, penaut butter, turtle, Chocolate almond… If you want to see/taste for yourself, maybe you should stop by… They had ice cream with dipped waffle cones and all the other types of chocolate you can imagine(like marshmallows, graham crackers, or rice krispies covered in chocolate, yes please!)
