Address is wrong when using«get directions» on Unilocal.Sent me around multiple traffic circles to a nonexistent location. No answer on the phone during open hours — 6pm on a Wednesday. … did not get a chance to try again because I was only here for a couple days.

Brad, what are you talking about!!! You drove around a small town looking for the best pizza place in town and got lost??? Dude, you are a man! Ask a local where it is or pull out a map! «I googled» i bet you google map out your starbucks. NYPD has the best pies! I frequently visit when im in town on business and its second to none! Love the family atmosphere and cant wait for my next slice. Thanks Cilen’s !! — Mike in California ;)

The first time we went, our pizza wasn’t what we ordered. With kids, you’d probably be thinking as we did: this is going to be a nightmare when they’re starving. I’m assuming it was the owner, but he came out with complimentary dough nuts for them. I’m sure he’s a dad himself. After our actual pizza came out, he truly and apologetically showed himself as a great owner. It wasn’t staged and you could tell he meant it. 5 stars, even if our pizza was incorrect because you can’t find a lot of people like that these days.

Great place to get good pizza! Have been hooked since the first visit! I like the idea of being able to see samples of the actual pizzas there are to choose from, which they do here! The food is cooked fresh to order, that is if you’re able to finally decide on what to actually get! The staff are super friendly and very helpful with deciding! Reasonable prices and great desert to top it off!

Being from North East NJ, this is the closest thing to home! Nice staff too! Clean and decorated supporting all the EMS services. Bring a patch to put on the wall. Mine is there too, Morristown PDNJ.

I loved this place! My friends and I were visiting from Washington DC and stopped in on our way to Chattanooga at the recommendation of a local. I’m so glad we did! We arrived right as they were opening for the day. The employees were engaging, funny and helpful. One of the owners was there and he just made us feel like part of the food family. It was so fun! The Philly cheesesteak was recommended and DELICIOUS!(I’ve been to Philly a lot, and this was the real thing-they even fly their bread in from Philly). Our pizzas were just as good. The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were hilariously decorated, the staff were hospitable, the prices fair(6 of us ate for $ 38) and all in all I couldn’t have been more pleased.

FABULOUS!!! We have wanted to try this place for a while now and so glad we decided to stop in. FRIENDLYSTAFF! SUPERCLEAN! EXCEPTIONALFOOD! Pizza was amazing. The crust was perfect. We just got it by the slice, I can only imagine how good a whole pie would be! The Pasta was cooked perfectly. Caesar salad was fresh, crisp and cold! The sausage, pepper and onion sandwich was just ok. The bread was great, the sandwich just lacked the right amount of sausage. Ask the staff what they recommend. They gave us ideas that weren’t even on the menu. We seriously felt transported to New York. Family friendly. Priced decently. Women’s restroom was super cute, clean, stocked and smelled fresh. This place is a gem! This will defiantly become a regular stop for us!

Bad day at New York pizza today… order the slice of pizza, was kept waiting twice as long as normal… Found out that they have lost my original slice, was given a really horrible substitute slice… All without asking me before they presented my slice… Too bad I kind a like this place

Great pizza but really retarded hours. For an idea that comes from New York it would be nice if they mimicked the hours also. Pizza is needed most after 10pm! There landlord is a complete idiot for not letting them sell alcohol, if they moved I would do twice the business with them!

Decent pizza place but nothing extraordinary. You walk up to order your pizza(they have slices available as well), then wait for them to call your name. We didn’t have a server bring our pizza over so I walked up and picked it up when it was ready. Service was decent but nothing to add too much commentary about. It seemed to take a while for our order which was a basic 14 inch pepperoni. When it came out is was misshaped, they noted that it got stuck or something. I wouldn’t drive out of my way to dine here again but I would eat here if I was in the area. It’s worth at least checking out.

This was the first time my mother and I tried NYPD. Was curious after reading the reviews. Customer service was fantastic, the restaurant was clean and I loved the NY «vibe» it had going on. Not to mention the pizza! We ordered a 24in(HUGE) Supreme and it was DELISH! Needless to say, can’t wait to try the other pizza selections! BTW-The ladies’ restroom must get a notable mention as well! Very boutique-like!!! Loved it!

Although I mean to, I don’t write reviews as much as I want to, but I feel compelled to share my experience here. The pizza is GREAT, but that isn’t why I would come back. I wish I could relay in words how amazing the staff is. First, I walk in with my 3 year old daughter who was making it clear she wanted cheese pizza. The gentleman behind the counter moved another pizza out of the way to show her the cheese. When we pick it up he shows her the pizza to make sure it is okay. Then helps us out to the car(I couldn’t hold the pizza and baby myself) The service is amazing, the food is better

When I get done with my 2 mile long swim at the Y what I crave is 3FDR rolls and a slice of pizza. I don’t really care which pizza, as long as it is vegetarian, so my wife picks. I do like plain cheese though. I drink 75% unsweetened tea and 25% sweet tea. The tea and the sodas are consistently the best here out of all of the places we go out to eat. I am thankful for New York Pizza Department and have eaten so many good meals here. It is a part of my wife and I’s life. This is good pizza. Great fettuccine. Great and different than Lupis Calzones. Great salads. Great variety. And an ever expanding menu at times which you will not get at a chain. Sure. There are details about it that some people will not like. On average though what do people think about it? Quick. Shut this site down. This site would like to say 3.5 is what people think about it on average. Is this true? If you expand the reviews and count the ratings not counted in the average, as Unilocal is protecting you from reading fake reviews(is facebook, tripadvisor, and urbanspoon really full of fake reviews?) And if so well it is still a comparison on the same scale with every other restaurant. The reviews here on Unilocal are as follows: 22 that are 5 stars 7 that are 4 stars 3 that are 3 stars 6 that are 2 stars 3 that are 1 star Is wait for it. Not 3.5. 3.95 22×5, + 7×4, + 3×3, + 6×2, + 3×1 = 162 Divided by 41 as that is how many people took their time to come on to Unilocal and write a review. Does not everyone’s time and opinion matter? We know the deal by now. I mean the people that look at your site do too. Customers know. I am one. I am not related to this place in any other way. The 3.95 is much lower than tripadvisor or urbanspoon. Which brings me to the next point. Out of the 3 star or less reviews. 5 of 41 are from heavy users of Unilocal that do not live here in Chattanooga. You draw your own conclusions. Some quick research will reveal a 92% listed on one website. Maybe urbanspoon for the 92%. The 4.7 average on Facebook. And the 4.5 ish average of tripadvisor. Yeah sure. Nypd didn’t subscribe to Unilocal’s extended services. I wouldn’t either. Oh well. People do not like to be lied to. I am sure your own policy is dooming you as people actually trust urbanspoon and tripadvisor more. I do think your motivation is financial and I do wonder if perhaps it is illegal. When people cannot trust that their positive reviews will be shown, or will not be removed for failing to meet Unilocal’s guidelines, they do not write them here on Unilocal.Which is another reason you have a 3.95 average here. If I were Unilocal I would begin to ask myself how come I had 42 reviews of this restaurant while Urbanspoon has 77. My recommendation to Unilocal is: Don’t change at all. I am enjoying seeing you lose. But hopefully one day someone rectifies the unfairness and injustice and dishonesty going on here on Unilocal, and exposes the parts of this operation that pretends to care about users’ trust and instead just serves the hidden interests of the Unilocal company. Look at your stats compared to urbanspoon and tripadvisor. You are losing. 70 for Unilocal’s stock price. Headed higher? 101 for tripadvisor. What do you think a site that isn’t in the habit of sneakily filtering out peoples’ content such as Urbanspoon is worth? Do you think Facebook got to be Facebook while acting the way that you have? Do you really think you will be successful in the long run with your current approach? I don’t.

This… is not… a chain. It just has an unoriginal name. I don’t know what anyone expects the middle of a massive 24″ pizza to be other than soggy. If you don’t want that, then this is not the place to go, except for probably a slice that gets heated back up. But really, meh, pizza that’s just been sitting there. If sogginess is such a problem for you, the menu does say you can get anything as a take and bake pizza if you think you can do better. All the specialty pizzas cost over $ 18 – 25, but they feed 6+ people easily. There were 5 of us and we ate 6 of the 8 slices. To me, that’s not really overpriced, considering in the end it’ll be 7 meals overall. I wouldn’t bother with a whole pizza here if it wasn’t for that many people. They do also offer plain cheese for $ 15, but if you want more than one topping you kind of enter better off with a specialty one territory. We ordered the 911, which had salami, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, green peppers, onion, black olives, and mushroom. I think that covers everything. It was way too much stuff for one pizza, which is a positive for any dogs around. Overall the pizza wasn’t that bad, but it’s hard to make pizza taste terrible. A lot of the pizzas sound really interesting, so I’d like to come back and try a couple more in the future just because it’s something different around here and better than the pizza my parents usually pick when I’m back up here. They also have sandwiches, calzones, and salads. edit: whoever put the address in completely missed a number. This is up across from the 153 Wal-Mart, not all the way down by the river. I submitted a change to Unilocal but yeah don’t go looking for it based on the map on here.
