First time renting from this company and very pleased! Super friendly staff who was willing to answer all my questions. My husband actively serves in the Air Force and they offered us 50% off all 6 of our bikes for the week… you cannot find that anywhere else! They went above and beyond to make us feel special and for that, I’m extremely thankful. We loved the convenience of having all 6 bikes delivered/​picked up. I would highly recommend to all people who are searching for a bike rental in Hilton Head!

Their bikes are old and in poor condition. I had them exchange a bike because of bad brakes and it wasn’t any better. There are cheaper places with better bikes. Customer service is poor as well. Don’t waste your time.

Bike rentals on Hilton Head Island are a dime a dozen, they are everywhere so there is a lot of competition. Everyone offers free delivery to your hotel or resort; they drop them off and pick them up. However, the conditions of the bikes, the quality and the price are what set each business apart and of course, customer service too.
The bikes here are very comparable to the other rental places when I did my research of other rentals. I liked the customer service here much better than others and overall, Bicycles-​Pedals did offer the best rates on bikes for 3 days. Most of the rental places will charge you the same rate whether you rent for 3 days or 7 days, they all want the same. Here they had a 3 day rate, which was ¹⁄₃ of the others. I own a few bikes and just do not see the need to spend $ 65 for 3 days of using a bike for a few hours that others wanted to charge.
Sadly, I do have a few complaints. The toddler bike they sent us originally was very rusted, however when we rode past their store (which is near the beach) they allowed us to switch bikes, the one we switched, fit my son much better as it was a little larger and it looked almost new. I believe for the toddler bikes, just for safety reasons, they should include a helmet. I think that is just smart and shows that they care about their customers children. My only other issue was that the bike locks were quite damaged, the locks that they use sell for under $ 4 on amazon (4 Digit Password Combination Bicycle Lock), these were quite rusted and needed to be changed out, it was difficult to turn some of the nobs.
Other than that, the bikes were good. The seats were comfortable and we had a good time. Next time though I think I’ll just bring my own bikes to HHI.

Our bikes were in horrible condition. I would never consider rentals there again! My bike was actually dangerous because the chain would skip and not gain traction at various intervals… like crossing the road! They should be ashamed to let a bike go out like this!

This is my first Unilocal post. But thought it important to communicate to others. Over the Christmas break, my extended family spent a week at Hilton Head. We rented a slew of bikes (10 or so) one day and returned the next day to rent a few more. As we were selecting bikes, my 10 yr old son tripped on one of the wires that connect the bikes outside. He fell hard, and got a nose bleed that was quite significant. It was a big deal for us. We went to the desk — we were the only folks there — and asked for paper towels. My son sat on the ground outside the store for at least 15 minutes, crying and bloody — while we made multiple trips inside the store and bathroom to replenish towels. All of this visible from the store window. After about 15 minutes, we made it inside to the bathroom to clean him up .
I want to state that at no point did anyone from the store help us. Not one mention of concern or assistance. The man at the desk did not even get out of his chair to help. Again, we were the only folks there and i even told him that he had lots of blood on the concrete outside. We eventually went next door to a coffee shop to re-​evaluate; the waitress was very kind and prepared him a bag of ice.
We decided not to rent that day after all, got first aid supplies at the CVS and returned to our hotel. I kept my cool during the episode, as i wanted to focus on helping my child and not make the situation worse for him. But was absolutely floored that we received not even a helping hand, or words of concern from the employee at the store. I was actually sad that my children had to see such indifference.
Maybe i should have asked for help specifically and directly. Not sure. But thought you should know that this experience was disappointing. As we drove out of the parking lot after spending some time at the coffee shop next door, my 13 yr old son noted that they had already sprayed down the puddle of blood next to the bikes.

When vacationing in HH, it’s very useful to rent a bike to get around. After checking around a bit for rates and locations, I decided to go to Pedals and was not disappointed. I had a great conversation with one of the employees when checking out my bike. The bike itself was sturdy and comfortable. The thing that really set them apart happened the day before my bike was set to be picked up (They also will pick up your bike for you so you don’t have to drop it off!). As I was locking up my bike, the lock broke. I gave them a call to let them know and within 10 minutes they had someone drop off a new lock for me! Great customer service that really set them apart. Rent from Pedals!

If you are vacationing in Hilton Head its an absolute must to rent bikes!
We rented from Pedals and were very pleased with our bikes and the child seat. They delivered to our villa and picked up right before we checked out on our last day there.

Excellent service! I was just in hilton head with my girlfriends on a tennis trip and we rented 4 bikes, the people were so nice, accommodating and helpful!!! We had an issue with a bike (totally our fault) and they were great at replacing and helping us out!!! Will definitely rent from them every time I come to hilton head!!! Great company!
