Great wood fired pie. Toppings were creative fresh, and not over salty. Great space(décor on point) and live music.

If you are a fan of neopolitan pizza don’t miss Local Pie! We have been on Hilton Head 2 weeks and decided that we’d have pizza one night after all the seafood. One night turned into 3. Try some of their speciality pizzas, you won’t be disappointed. New, clean restaurant with both inside and outside seating and bar. We also picked up a pizza to takeout.

What a great night, Michael, our server was fun and knowledgeable. We both had romaine lettuce salad, my friend had a margarita pizza and I had the chicken calzone with blue cheese and wing sauce. Both were delicious! 7 layer cake is the best. I would go just for that dessert again! Well done, Local Pie. Oh, coffee is served in a French press… LOVEDTHAT!

Enjoyable beer selection. The pizza was forgettable. But the least appealing part was the disingenuous presentation by the server. I was there to spend money and enjoy time with my friends, not to feel like I am being upsold on every product like they do at Tire Kingdom. When you’re only recommending the most expensive items on the menu, and you’re not a very good actress, it’s pretty blatant. You can’t pay for the entire empty restaurant with just our one table.

This was my first visit to Local Pie, The look is different and refreshing. I had the Margarita pizza, loved it, great flavor and the pie’s thin crust was cooked perfect, I enjoyed the fact they have a small pie for one and it was only ten dollars. Can’t wait to go back

I have never been to a restaurant where the bartender was actually stoned. But ours was. Dropped our pizza on the floor; mumbled and was incoherent the whole time; and then rang us up for $ 73 on a $ 40 bill. Sorry because they put a lot of money into renovating this place. But it is beyond awful. This is my second time. First time just the food stunk. After this time — forget about it. Worst meal I’ve ever had in my life. No exaggeration. Really sorry because I really thought this had the potential to be great for the Island.

Excellent thin crust pizza and pretty good craft beer selection. Nice deck as well. «The Usual» is fantastic with thin crispy, yet soft doughy inside crust.

Like I’ve said in other reviews. I really wanted to like this place. All I want is a good pizzeria, one that can give me a pie even half as good as something you’d get in Connecticut or New York. Unfortunately you’ll not get that here. We walk in on a Saturday night, the place has maybe 2 tables one being a big party, the other outside on the deck. As we get to the host stand, we’re asked if we have a reservation? I thought to myself, is this a joke question? The host looks around in the vast interior of open tables, as if he’s looking for an empty table. He then takes us to our table, and within a minute our waitress speaking what I say to my guests is the Queens English, she uses the royal«We» every chance she gets. «Would „We“ like to have a drink?» Would«We» be interested in hearing about the story of Local Pie? And just when you think it can’t get more pretentious she brings a capped bottle of tap water to the table and pours it in our glasses. I don’t care that it’s tap water, but a capped bottle?! Really? We ordered 3 soft drinks, and asked for another moment to look over the menu. She came back to our table, and asked again. This time we ordered a Caesars salad and the garlic dough knots. The salad had some nice thin slices of dried parm. On it, but that’s all I can say about how the salad was. The greens were crisp, but the dressing tasted pre made. It had a definite taste of vinegar. And a very oily base, both things you’d never find in a home made dressing. If it’s made on site, you’d taste the egg yolks, and the oil wouldn’t cover the plate like an Exxon Valdez oil spill. The vinegar is not an ingredient in a fresh home made Caesars dressing. The dough knots were even WORSE! 6 pillows the size of a puffy Ravioli, sitting on top of the coldest and blandest marinara I’ve ever eaten. My boys being hungry, ate them anyway because they were starving. When we were ready to order our dinner, the Queen came and asked again if «We» were ready to order dinner. My youngest had the kids pepperoni pie. A 10″ pie with some char on the nice thin chewy crust. Unfortunately there were maybe 6 slices of pepperoni on the entire pie. My little boy said what a Gip! There were 4 of us, and we all ordered a different pie so we could pass them around. My oldest son ordered the monkey pie. A white pizza with sharp provolone, mozzarella and another cheese. Olive oil based and what says to be island herbs, was merely chopped parsley. Very bland. I ordered a pie with sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms the crust was thin and nicely crisp, with a bit of char on it. Our friend had sausage and mushrooms, again very bland. When it came time to refill our soft drinks, the waitress did some ting I have NEVERSEEN in my over 30 years in the restaurant business. She filled a glass at the bar, and brought it to the table, and poured it into our half empty glasses. She literally cost this place a star for that act alone. The what would«we» like charade cost them another. The less then appealing under seasoned marinara, and vinegary Caesars dressing cost them another. The pizzas are actually pretty good, But the pretentiousness and service will keep us away. All I want to know, is why would we be asked if we had a reservation, when clearly thete was nobody in this place. Why the waitress would try to be something more than a waitress in a pizza joint? Why would dinner at a pizza joint cost us $ 75 Things will have to change here, but being a tourist strong area, it will linger in mediocrity. Again, I wanted to like this place! I searched it out. I even pulled into a place down the road called Dough Boys. I think I should have tried then first, then maybe this place. Now I’m just plain sad. Because it’s been a long time since I’ve had a really good coal or wood fired pizza. Only when Paulies was in operation, can I honestly say Hilton Head had a good pizzeria. Oh well! Another pizza place shit the bed. If it wete just take out pizzas, this place would be 5 stars easy. But, with all the other stuff, it’s just sad.

Some good pizza. Local ingredients and tasty flavors make up the menu at Local Pie. We enjoyed a salad to start and then shared two different pies. The crust was nice and tender and not over cooked or soggy. The toppings fresh and plentiful. Atmosphere of this funky, local joint is pretty cool too. We are excited to go back when the weather is good and we can sit on the deck.

Came here with my dad soon after they opened. It was a quiet weeknight during the NLDS, we figured we’d have some pizza & enjoy a Mets game. The pizza(a margherita) was okay. Just okay. Crust was a decent texture with little flavor. But it was pizza, and we were hungry. Beggars can’t be choosers. Servers were efficient and attentive, but not hovering like a helicopter. That was pleasant. However, once the ballgame started, the young woman behind the bar became an obnoxious Cubs fan, using foul language at a loud volume towards the Mets(and the two Mets fans dining in the restaurant.) We found this behavior unprofessional and off-putting. Furthermore, the owner(?), Glen, stopped by our table to see how things were– and wound up taking our ears off for over half an hour. Overall, I don’t think we will be returning. PS: don’t park behind Local Pie thinking you can go to Fiesta Fresh during the lunch peak time. Glen will stand on the back deck and yell at you. How welcoming!

Before visiting Local pie we decided to give them a few weeks after open to try them out. We visited on a very slow weeknight. As you cannot build your own pie(our waiter explained that the goal is to get you out of your comfort zone) we ordered four different pizzas. No one at the table was impressed with what they ordered. We all felt the dough was tasteless and the toppings sparse. If you decide to visit Local Pie, look at the menu online. Be certain that you see something you like. The owners have made a beautiful restaurant. Our experience was that the food does not match the décor.

On a vacation island full of tourist food, this AMAZING spot is a true treat. And when one is awarded with a place where EVERYTHING is made in house(sauce, cheeses, dough, smoked and cased meats/sausages), you better hold on and respect the majesty of its sacred existence. Please do yourself a favor and visit. Visit often. So damn good!!!

We went to local pie on our anniversary because my wife and I both love Neapolitan style pizza. We were not disappointed. We started off with deez knots, which tasted delicious, but not too filling. My bride ordered the B pie, which she liked quite a bit. I got«the Usual» which I loved. The small pie was enough for two people really. The service was also awesome. We may be back again before our vacation is over as I really wanted to try the«local ball».

We had a great overall experience, so good we went back a second night. We had the Gump and the Baller– great topping choices. Both were hot, cheesy and crisp. Wood fired ovens can be tricky, so I am guessing they worked out the issues of the earlier reviews. Great beer selections and good staff. The venue is amazing and can’t wait to see it in «the season» but go now, because I am guessing it will be crazy when the island is hopping.

This is our 3rd time eating at Local Pie, Hilton Head and we have enjoyed everything. Our favorites are the Charcuterie starter and the Baller meatball and the Pizza and calzones are wood-fired, thin crust and very good. We will be back many more times.

So excited this place is open! The décor and ambiance is top notch(especially for a pizza place!) We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of Sandy and Caila behind the bar! Started with a porter and was pleased to learn that all of their beer and wine is on tap(to avoid waste). Wow a green pizza place. We all split a Caprese Salad which they make their mozzarella fresh. We tried the Margarita Pizza, listed on their menu as the classic pie, St Helena tomatoes, house mozzarella, bluffton basil, Oilerie extra virgin, balsamic pearls. This was amazing! Can’t wait to return! Highly recommend!

What a great new addition to HHI! The restaurant layout is really open and the bar area is really inviting and spacious. In addition to their delectable menu they offer many local craft beers as well as wine on draft. You couldn’t ask for a better pairing when it comes to wood fired pies. My fiancée and I had the Gump and the D’artagian, both were delicious and I am looking forward to returning to try their other specialty pies. Sandy, our bartender, was also great and super friendly and efficient! Kudos to you Local Pie!
